I’ve had the original Digitakt for about 5 years now, and it’s been my absolute favorite piece of gear since. I don’t think I need this upgrade, and I’m still perfectly happy with mine, but I must say that Elektron shows, once more, why it’s one of the best music companies out there. Delivering quality, listening to their customers, showing how much they care about what they make. There are few companies that are genuinely changing the music gear industry (Chase Bliss, Hologram Electronics and Soma, to name a few) and you guys truly stand out as one of them. I’ll watch all the demos just for the sake of it 🫶🏼
While I wish there was actual sample slicing on board I understand that this machine just isn’t for my particular way of working. I’m also seeing how perfect it is for how a lot of other people work. Stoked for them!
Measured take! But... I'm bummed! I love working with Digitakt and haven't gotten on well with Octatrack (despite my adoration of your videos), so I was really hoping for slicing here. So it goes!
got to have a reason for people to still move up to the OT I guess - I think stereo, more LFOs and more audio tracks might make this look very appealing to people who were on the fence about the digitakt 1. I'm definitely getting one haha
Yea for real! I love all the new features but without sample slicing it's no good for me either. I need proper slice control for break chopping & resamped audio as part of my workflow. Yes you can use digi chains but it's a bit of a faff for a £900 sampler.
digitakt user for like 2 months now - i love this so much. Elektron... please continue to pave the way. Your hardware changed my life and workflow when it comes to creating... So excited for this!!
Beautiful demo and so much yes going on here, but the biggest yes is that we can uplift our mk1 projects/live sets that we so long worked for! Love it !
Yeah a feature I really missed when I switched from model samples to Takt ..... two years of work on the samples just sitting there. Its such a pain to handtranslate the pattern to the takt...
I dunno... I think could use some more close ups cutaways of the sweater and blur/focus shots. more bokeh. or more of like, hiding behind a pencil cup sneakily peaking at the machine for a second. and like, maybe even more dutch angle ... slow mo hair?
they don´t only sell great gear but a whole 21st century edgy creatives lifestyle, design and philosophy - that what I call cool and inspiring to be part of it. Love those tracks here..
@@alexandervaldorf1825 if you want you can keep it midi, but if you dont need 8 of them (in my case I hardly ever use the midi tracks at all) it is a supernice plus
If my home studio somehow magically disappeared, the Digitakt would be the first piece I'd get back (even before a laptop). I love it deeply, best gear I've ever had. And even though I have gearlust for the DT2, I feel that the DT1 is still immensely relevant these days, with the late updates (samples modes, song mode, keyboard, etc...).
elektron do good videos. i remember one of the videos for the original digitakt that cenk did being really stand out compared to most videos from other companies. he didnt waffle on, he actually showed how to use it and made it sound good at the same time. kind of crazy how rare that is. something i love about this is how natural her voice sounds. nothing too over the top or overly enthusiastic and the sounds make want to go buy this thing right away!
@elektron what you need to make next is a digi sized box with digitone’s poly sequencer and arpeggiator, 12-16 tracks, sampling, or at least sample playback machine, fm, analog, Syntakt machines, 3 lfos per track, and the FX block. You’re on the verge of greatness.
Hey @elektron I LOVE THE TAKT2!! I would love if there were more destinations such as for trig probability, fill on/off, and for the euclidean sequencer. Love the device either way but that would take it to a whole other level as a generative device.
ELEKTRON STRIKES AGAIN! Looks amazing. 3 LFOs is hype! I hope the price isn't too outrageous. Looking forward to getting my hands on one. And thank goodness Digitakt is now confirmed to be pronounced "Dijitackt" not "Diggytackt".
What a fantastic upgrade. It has most of what users asked for and even more. It is a pity that the zoom function outside the sampling screen isn't available (yet) and zero crossing on samples has been omitted. These are functions that I found very useful on the Octatrack and really missed on the Digitakt, but who knows, maybe this will be added in a future update 😊
Love it. Great upgrade. Instabuy. I will probably keep my OG Digitakt for a while, used prices won't be great right now! This is a massive step up. Well done Elektron.
This is awesome, both for the new piece of hardware AND the fact that used Digitakts mark1 will be cheap as dirt, hopefully! Hahaha I'm here for a feast
This is bangin for sure… probably the most noteworthy MKII update compared to all the other MKIIs you guys have made but I’m not upgrading until real some chopping is adding. I need to be able to select my end points. Right now I have to use other machines for chopping before getting the samples into the DT and that’s annoying as hell. So to upgrade and have to keep that same redundant workflow would be nuts.

looks sweet , is there synchronous sampling option now ? I love the machine but I hate to have to stop the music to sample loops properly
Great video and some fantastic music, especially that final track. I really like the idea of owning a Digitakt II but as I have no rhythm programming talent I just think it would be wasted money. I suspect this impressive little box is only ever as good as the talent of the person using it.
what is the best way to upgrade from DT to DTii? Samples are straightforward, just folder duplicate into new machine. But will the Sysex be enough for whole project cloning?
This is massive. The expanded sample slots are exactly what's needed to compile individual projects into live sets, not to mention all of the other upgrades from DKT 1... And 128 steps!? looking forward to this 🌳📐🤟.
I was at my local music shop the other day when this leaked and there were 3 people who came in to get on the wait list even though it wasn't officially in their system yet. That was in the span of 15 minutes. People are going bonkers about this.
I think it's a great update. If I can use the extra eight tracks as four note polyphonic samplers then I don't need another box to make music. I can make music just on the digitakt. I think that is what I really want and what most people really want. A box that covers all of your bases. Just hook up a MIDI keyboard if you want to and make music. If we can simplify the process of getting four note polyphony out of four tracks I think it's a game changer.
This is going to send gigantic shockwaves throughout the industry. If the Digitakt II can send MIDI out (especially CC data) using the MIDI 2.0 spec, when you consider that it's a Class Compliant USB audio interface, pairing this thing with an M2 (soon M3) iPad Pro will profoundly redefine the electronic music making meta. Now if Digitakt II can also send multiple audio streams via USB to the iPad Pro when paired as its audio interface (instead of the current limit of 1), then it's 100% GG: this machine will be guaranteed to be the most impactful piece of hardware of the decade. If we're enabled to control large arrays of CC parameters (like a chunky 64 kind of threshold as opposed to Digitakt's current 8 CC limit per dedicated MIDI track) AND we're able to customize the CC control names, then it'd be something worthy of tears of joy :D The industry has proven that it is exceedingly difficult to reproduce the Elektron sequencer workflow, polish and feature set, so now if there can be a genuine integration between software (iPad especially) and hardware in the context of MIDI 2.0, the Digitakt will not only count as its own incredible instrument, it will also DOUBLE as an Audio interface, making it by far one of the most (if not THE most) efficient purchase decision a musician can make. MIND BLOWING POTENTIAL WITH THIS BAD BOY!
At the first glance, the Digitakt II is ticking all the boxes.....
They knew what they were doing
I love it, just one gripe, would've liked an extra pair of outputs but not a deal breaker
coming soon on the Bad Gear chanel
LOOOOOL!

I was just about to comment that haha

Mk1 DT is a beast, i run midi trks to my old akai s3000xl for stereo samples and vibes the two pair nice and more 1/4 outs.
Still tho, saving midi tracks as presets and renaming midi parameters is pretty damn compelling
Same here 🙏
@@atommachine- I do similar with an old Yamaha A3000 sampler.
The DT is fantastic.
if it just had (at least) a couple extra outputs it would be my dream machine 😢

Darn, was hoping for the Octatrack Mk3 :*)
Thumbs up for Risa T. Congrats to Elektron on the new product release. Nice work.
just wanted to say that this is an incredibly beautifully produced promo vid. nice 1. congrats on the new instrument.

Holysh*t. Well done Elektron. Meet you at the cash register... Also S/O to Risa T. Great music!
The features are really gamechanging. For me it’s the stereo, Kits, the 8 extra channels and new cntrl all feature that make it a live monster.
Perform kit is also great for playing live! You can mess around on your set and return it to its original saved state easily!

Outta the blue ❤ If the Syntakt 2 got some of these features as well (128 steps, kits, FX, etc.) I'd be in heaven!
Although the yellow screen was better for the eyes and late night sessions, perfect upgrades!
@WeAreElektron will any of the somewhat lesser cpu intensive functions (mute preparation etc) be available on the Digitakt 1?
I wonder if we’re gonna get any love with the new os on DT1.
