I’ve had the original Digitakt for about 5 years now, and it’s been my absolute favorite piece of gear since. I don’t think I need this upgrade, and I’m still perfectly happy with mine, but I must say that Elektron shows, once more, why it’s one of the best music companies out there. Delivering quality, listening to their customers, showing how much they care about what they make. There are few companies that are genuinely changing the music gear industry (Chase Bliss, Hologram Electronics and Soma, to name a few) and you guys truly stand out as one of them.
I’ll watch all the demos just for the sake of it 🫶🏼
Mk1 DT is a beast, i run midi trks to my old akai s3000xl for stereo samples and vibes the two pair nice and more 1/4 outs.
Still tho, saving midi tracks as presets and renaming midi parameters is pretty damn compelling

While I wish there was actual sample slicing on board I understand that this machine just isn’t for my particular way of working. I’m also seeing how perfect it is for how a lot of other people work. Stoked for them!
Measured take! But... I'm bummed! I love working with Digitakt and haven't gotten on well with Octatrack (despite my adoration of your videos), so I was really hoping for slicing here. So it goes!
got to have a reason for people to still move up to the OT I guess - I think stereo, more LFOs and more audio tracks might make this look very appealing to people who were on the fence about the digitakt 1. I'm definitely getting one haha

Yea for real! I love all the new features but without sample slicing it's no good for me either. I need proper slice control for break chopping & resamped audio as part of my workflow. Yes you can use digi chains but it's a bit of a faff for a £900 sampler.
DOH. I prefer my DT over my OT... Was hoping for chopping as well.

@@alexandervaldorf1825 if you want you can keep it midi, but if you dont need 8 of them (in my case I hardly ever use the midi tracks at all) it is a supernice plus
Beautiful demo and so much yes going on here, but the biggest yes is that we can uplift our mk1 projects/live sets that we so long worked for! Love it !
Yeah a feature I really missed when I switched from model samples to Takt ..... two years of work on the samples just sitting there. Its such a pain to handtranslate the pattern to the takt...

The features are really gamechanging. For me it’s the stereo, Kits, the 8 extra channels and new cntrl all feature that make it a live monster.
Perform kit is also great for playing live! You can mess around on your set and return it to its original saved state easily!

digitakt user for like 2 months now - i love this so much. Elektron... please continue to pave the way. Your hardware changed my life and workflow when it comes to creating... So excited for this!!
Was about to get the Digitakt soon but now here we are! Super excited for this!!!! Hopefully the octatrakt gets an upgrade soon

If my home studio somehow magically disappeared, the Digitakt would be the first piece I'd get back (even before a laptop). I love it deeply, best gear I've ever had.
And even though I have gearlust for the DT2, I feel that the DT1 is still immensely relevant these days, with the late updates (samples modes, song mode, keyboard, etc...).

@elektron what you need to make next is a digi sized box with digitone’s poly sequencer and arpeggiator, 12-16 tracks, sampling, or at least sample playback machine, fm, analog, Syntakt machines, 3 lfos per track, and the FX block. You’re on the verge of greatness.

This is massive. The expanded sample slots are exactly what's needed to compile individual projects into live sets, not to mention all of the other upgrades from DKT 1... And 128 steps!? looking forward to this 🌳📐🤟.

What a fantastic upgrade. It has most of what users asked for and even more. It is a pity that the zoom function outside the sampling screen isn't available (yet) and zero crossing on samples has been omitted. These are functions that I found very useful on the Octatrack and really missed on the Digitakt, but who knows, maybe this will be added in a future update 😊

I think it's a great update. If I can use the extra eight tracks as four note polyphonic samplers then I don't need another box to make music. I can make music just on the digitakt. I think that is what I really want and what most people really want. A box that covers all of your bases. Just hook up a MIDI keyboard if you want to and make music. If we can simplify the process of getting four note polyphony out of four tracks I think it's a game changer.

ELEKTRON STRIKES AGAIN! Looks amazing. 3 LFOs is hype! I hope the price isn't too outrageous. Looking forward to getting my hands on one. And thank goodness Digitakt is now confirmed to be pronounced "Dijitackt" not "Diggytackt".
looks sweet , is there synchronous sampling option now ? I love the machine but I hate to have to stop the music to sample loops properly

This is bangin for sure… probably the most noteworthy MKII update compared to all the other MKIIs you guys have made but I’m not upgrading until real some chopping is adding. I need to be able to select my end points. Right now I have to use other machines for chopping before getting the samples into the DT and that’s annoying as hell. So to upgrade and have to keep that same redundant workflow would be nuts.
Great, the update seems to be great, memory, fx, sequencer updates are huge ! the look is still the same :) hope you will propose for Digitakt 1owner an upgrade plan.

looks promising.
Looks like a fantastic machine for endless joy in exploration and serious sound design. Although fx’s are thin on the ground.. New to this, the learning curve seem rather intimidating. I wonder if this unit will work for me as a musician to create songs/pieces in a hybrid fashion - recording longer tracks of instruments, vocals in the old linear way + the Elektron workflow strongpoints. Anyone with similar thoughts or experiences? I like dedicated machines and I’m tempted either way 😅 But it’s an investment I won’t jump until I know what to expect.
Awesome! Very nice improvements over the OG takt. The three LFOs per track will open up endless options. The video was a bit odd, though. Lots of shaky shots, blurry close-ups of a cat, and an obsession with hair? Doesn't impact the quality of the DTII, though, so all is good.
