I’ve been a musician for many years! Been doing a lot of professional stuff, released several albums, and live in my own recording studio. I have a dozen of reverb units from primitive spring type to the high end digital/analog sounding ones. I really didn’t need any more reverb pedals. But the moment I heard the sound of this little baby I thought: Wow! It sounds very ‘springish’ kinda old school, with a little muddy wavering vibe to it. I just loved that sound, and ordered one promptly! Ok, so you see guys, I really needed another reverb after all. LOL!

@The Townspeople Well it is sturdier than most of the DanElectro pedals, pretty much like the smaller Mooer pedals but with the same quality of knobs like the ultra cheap korg volca or monotron synths, so the build quality is not the worst. No place for battery (exactly like Mooer pedals), and only two knobs and sounds like a spring reverb from an old vox organ from the sixties or the build in spring Reverb on some old Rat amplifier (I do dislike the distortion sound in some of them, but reverbs are good). If you need alot of sound manipulation possibilites this wont do, if you just want a spring reverb that sounds good and is resonably quirky for an old analogue organ/synth or to play psychedelic guitar grooves this sounds right. Alot of the zoom stuff has three times the price but has a far worse build quality so for the price it has a good build, and it is really good for a spring reverb sound but that is ALL it can do, it good for one thing and it is actually better than my Alesis midiverb that costs ten times as much when it comes to getting a good spring reverb sound. Its versatile at all, but great for one thing and that is what I love about it.

Nice. Brings back good memories. A local shop (Still there, thank goodness) in the '70s could order Electro-Harmonix stuff. Being 16 and only playing a year or so in '73, i ordered a LPB-1. I believe it was $16.95, Good times.

I use reverb mainly to give my sound some air, and never really use it to sound like I'm playing in a cavern, so this is perfect for me at this price!

Ive given up on finding a spring verb, because everything under $100 sounds like utter crap. That said, the Snake Bite is astonishingly good for the price, if you like plate.

Fender sounds a little warmer. But I'm sold on the Azor

  • @ryanseanmusicandlove

It's seems that the azor has a slightly more pronounced wobble and treble.. a little louder than the genuine spring tank. I say crank it and use the wobble treble volume for lead playing or shoe gazer.. 😎

I am curious how you concluded that this pedal cannot get big and lush? I feel like when we are comparing something cheap to something expensive we will perform the whole test, acknowledging every step of the way that "they sound pretty similar" -- yet, in conclusion, we seem to always say "expensive one is much better than cheap one" :) i've got the Azor, as well as a Strymon Flint, J. Rockett Boing, and a couple of amps (including Fender Twin Reverb vintage) with built-in reverb. And the Azor is the one that (to my ears) sounds the most like a big, old-school spring reverb tank.

Thank you for using a clean guitar sound for your demo. Others are using heavy distortion. Great idea to A/B it with the Twin's onboard spring reverb. Good job!

Your playing on this with the reverb makes me think of sitting out in the desert. Awesome playing thanks for reviewing this pedal I have the phase by the same company and its fun to play with! :)

Same here. I just got mine, and it obliterates the low end, even with the mix knob all the way down.

Ah I bought this pedal too, the reason why it sound wobbly is because it tries to emulate an old school spring reverb. I was wondering why it had a wobbly sound that almost made it sound like a delay. It sounds alot like the spring reverb in some of the old electronic organs I have used. Its actually pretty good! I use it on an old analogue Yamaha Cs-5 synth and a Arturia Microfreak synth and the spring reverby sound is perfect for my needs! Ofcourse there is better options, but it actually sounds better than the built in multi effects in my Novation Mininova-synth.

They have a great fuzz also.

If your Fender amp doesn't have a reverb, this is the one to get. Cheap AF, and virtually indistinguishable from the Fender inbuilt spring unit at low "always on" settings. 👌
(Edit: If you do need something "bigger", get the Caline "Snake Bite")

I had the compressor pedal and was pretty satisfied w it. What’s your take on the small budget pedals compared too more expensive pedals? I know you see a lot of pedals. Just curious because you’ve demoed a lot of pedals. I did one on the ENO reverb and was happy with it. I like them all lol
