It’s really jazz fusion. When you say jazz that implies straight ahead, and unlike this straight ahead always swings.
They’ll fade away in a few years. Nobody persists these days.

@@coreyjclay the rimshots sound great, and it has a lot of articulation. It's not a backbeat sound for sure, but it suits this application pretty well.

nah man, they think about music very differently. jesus is just focused on playing complicated stuff, domi is way more about feel and groove. jesus is kinda overhyped
@Aiden W Yeah i go to Berklee and have met them both. Jesus is basically just a walking technique showcase. Domi and JD and going to push jazz forward

What a pleasant surprise! Masterful playing on both ends, brilliant licks and pocket playing on the drums as well as impressive comping on the keys, I’m blown away, live drum and bass that doesn’t sound duct taped together.

Desperately want to see a collab between these two and Jacob Collier but I honestly don't know how 3 characters with such huge musical personalities could fit into one song. Still, I will hope!

Omg it is so good, the groove is just unreal. You can really hear the drill and base influence (aphex twin, squarepusher, etc) with JDs drumming because he’s just constantly switching up the groove. Really quite amazing!

In my opinion, I think Beck and Domi's Nord live sessions are even better than their studio album Not Tight. The live sessions are crispier and really shows off their technical chops. I also prefer the Nord piano sound of Domi's keys, instead of the electric piano tone than she uses on the album.

It seems they were born with inherited and integrated knowledge from all the jazz greats. I just can't get my head around the level on display here with the age in context... I mean if these were musicians in their late 30s mid 40s who'd practiced and studied all their life I'd still think they were generational unique talents!
