    Yellow Pear? Sun Sugar, yes! Sun Gold does crack but delicious. Sweet 100, Sun Peach, Black Cherry and Isis Candy are all delicious.

    So I’ve got 58 varieties of cherry Tomatoes that I’ll be growing this year. Thanks to you, I’ve added Sugary and Juliette to that list. Hopefully they’ll arrive early so I can start them on time.

      That is a lot of cherry tomatoes. You shouldn't have any trouble getting them to grow in time. Do you have a favorite variety?.

      @@jameshynes2419 Hands down the best 3 cherry tomatoes that you can grow are Apero F1, Honeycomb F1 and Rosada. Both of those F1 cherry plums taste insane and are ridiculously productive. Apero F1 has unbelievable production and enormous trusses of sweet, plum cherries. My 3rd best tomato out of 48 different varieties last year. Honeycomb F1 is an upgraded version of Sungold. Very similar, extremely sweet, but more Honey-like tasting and no cracking either like Sungold. It has almost replaced the Sungold for me here. The only way you will get hold of Rosada seed is via private sellers in the UK as the line got discontinued or lost. These are now growing at F2 or F3 stage for us and are showing mixtures of red and orange tomatoes, depending on the plant. Either way the Rosada are the sweetest tomatoes I have ever tasted. Other stand out varieties last season were Brown Derby by Elser Farms and Cornue Des Andes.

    I grew Yellow Pear it took up too much space and the fruit took to long to ripen and were rather bland. I'm thinking about growing Sunsugar this year because of its sweetness and crack resistance. Have you tried Black Cherry tomato? I have a acidic cherry tomato that came from a plant that I bought that was supposed to be Yellow Pear and unfortunately, it keeps producing volunteers that keep coming back. Thanks for making this video!

    • @SuccessfulGardens1
      @SuccessfulGardens1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is one of the drawbacks to the Yellow Pear , is its size. You definitely need to make sure you have room for it to grow. You should really like Sunsugar, that is one I have to plant each year....my wife makes me! I have not grown Black Cherry yet, it is on my list to try. Maybe I will have to grow it this year.

    I'm growing Sun Sugar for the first time this year. So far, my absolute favorite tomato is Sun Gold! I have heard similar claims to yours about Sun Sugar, which is why I decided to grow both this year. I am very eager to do a taste test of the both of them. I grew yellow pear last year and did not like them. I thought they had no taste.

      Nothing beats Sun Gold for flavor but they do crack easily.

    • @petyrbaelish1718

      I grew Sun Gold, Sun Sugar and Honeycomb F1 side by side last season. All very similar with the latter two being derived from the original Sun gold. I have to say that Honeycomb F1 came out on top. It had the tastiest tomatoes with the least amount of cracking, although it wasn't quite as productive as the original Sun gold. The only thing that Sun Sugar had going for it was less cracking than Sungold, but it could not compete with Honeycomb F1 for both taste and resistance to cracking. I have therefore dropped Sun Sugar as the taste did not live up to the Sun Gold's reputation. This year I am growing 2 Honeycomb plants and 1 Sun Gold after last years results.

    German lunchbox.
    I call it thbeefsteak cherry tomatoe.
    Its both seedy & paste.
    Too many cherries taste like u squeezed a lemon in your salad. Its anniying i now know why Italians use thbland Grappoli as tonato sauce variety. When u add salt it comes alive. Lunchbox deeper better flavor i think tho but u must always couple with a wild cherry like coyote or matts. .

    What is the life span of the tomato plant?

    • @SuccessfulGardens1
      @SuccessfulGardens1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would vary on the tomato. Determinate tomatoes will produce usually one flush of fruit, and then be done. So a season. Outdoors.
      An indeterminate tomato grown, indoors, usually in a controlled environment, such as a greenhouse, can live up to 2 to 3 years. But if grown outdoors, there again, one season.

      Sun Sugar's don't taste as good as Sun Gold in my experience, despite less cracking. A superior alternative is the new Honeycomb F1 variety that came out a year or two ago. It tastes better than both Sun Sugar and Sun Gold and has less cracking than both. It has completely replaced Sun Sugar for me here. Slightly creamier coloured cherry tomatoes as well. Also Super Sweet 100 is incredibly overrated. It has performed really poorly in recent years up against newer superior releases such as Apero F1, Honeycomb F1, Limoncito F1 etc. The 2015 varieties of choice cannot compete with the 2022-23 varieties available now.
