    I am so excited my has not bloomed ever and I have had it for five years! This morning I went outside and it is full of little pink flowers that look like birds ! I got the cutting from my mama she has had that plant as long as I remember she is 95 years old!

    I have not seen this plant before, it’s quite interesting. I like the leaves and the stems, it’s pretty cool. I’ll be on the hunt for one on my next nursery outing. 🤓👍🏻

    Thank you so much for this information. My aunt clipped pieces from my grandmother's plant and she did not know how to take care of it. I re-rooted the pieces and now the plant is growing great. 3 of my grandmother's daughters are asking me to clip a piece and start a plant for them. That's why I am here. It is a part of their mother and they want it as a memory of her because she loved this plant. Thanks again.

    What a beautiful plant!!! I'm somewhat experienced with plants, but this gal just does not want to grow for me. Does it prefer to be root bound?

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN
      @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! She can be root bound a bit, but she also readily propagates using small cuttings in a new larger pot and grows well. I wonder why she isn't growing for you. Is she getting enough light? Can you tell me more? 😀🪴

    Your I care instructions were good, but no mention of fertilizer or plant food. My Devils Backbone is HUGE. It is outside in an 28 inch pot in Central Florida. I’ve had it about 8 years. It has no leaves. Nice healthy green stems. Mostly filtered light from trees. Please advise.

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN
      @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, it could be that your Devils backbone needs new potting soil. Try repotting and she should give you new leaves. On fertilizer, a well balanced organic like Dr Earth's all purpose 2-2-2 would help. You can also try 16 -4 8 ( @ half strength) to help encourage new leaves.😀🪴

    If I try water propagating, should I let the stem callous over first or just directly put in water?

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN
      @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! If you want to propagate in soil let the end harden for a few days . But if you want to propagate in water cut and place in water same day and Replant once roots grow
      1- 2” long. Hope this helps ! 😀🪴

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN
      @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN  ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Can you help me, my devils backbone plant was given to me and I did a diagnostic test and it said that my plant was damaged but it didn’t tell me damage from what or how to take care of it. I have noticed that I am losing leaves they’re yellow and they just drop off. I do have it sitting in a window and they try to water it every seven days or so I water it from the bottom so I don’t know if that’s doing wrong or what can you help me please

      Hi there, check the first two inches of soil for moisture content. If it feels dry, then she may not be getting enough water from bottom up method. I would water from top down and see how she responds. 😀🪴

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN

      Hi! You have a Mother of Thousands succulent! How cool. The botanical name(s) for this plant are: Kalanchoe daigremontiana or some botanist's have identified her as Bryophyllum daigremontiana or even Kalanchoe x laetivirens Whew, that’s a lot of botanical names! This plant also has the common name as devil's backbone (which definitely can cause confusion with the plant I was discussing Pedilanthus tithymaloides), but she is mostly called Mother of thousands or Mexican hat Kalachoe. Hope this was helpful. Enjoy your wonderful plant!😀🪴
