    Very nice work. Good presentation - you show/demonstrate as you talk ( I dislike the long-winded videos where the majority of the presentation shows the talker displaying his/her dental work or imperfections thereof). As a retired engineer from the Defense industry, may I suggest test fitting a piece that took significant design/layout/fabrication effort prior to finish welding it. (I required this of my engineers and technicians, and the cost of the incremental test steps - mechanical and electrical was always factored in the contract. Precluded huge and expensive problems many times)

      I love doing things that way. My latest video (I think) was building a set of custom shelves and I did it this way. I built patterns, then I built the final project to those pattterns. I was so confident in the patterns that I sent the finished product direct to powdercoat without even test fitting them and when they came back, they fit like a glove 👌

    Nice work, guy, but with all the horrible deeds of the police being brought to light in the smartphone age, I have to say that I'm disappointed to see the thin blue line shirt. Some time has passed since this video was made and I hope you've reconsidered your views on this matter. Take care.

      Thanks and I appreciate your support on the page. People tune in to watch welding and fabrication videos which is why I don't discuss politics or my personal opinions on certain matters. It's no secret that I have done projects for police agencies on this channel and that I have good friends that are police officers. I hope a shirt wouldnt offend someone to the point of not watching my channel but then again people are free to think and do as they please.

    That is a nice project hitch. Cool to use a standard reese style hitch then make your bagging attachment to fit it. Nice workmanship ,welds and thought process. I just wished you would have welded the seams they did not weld at the factory. Does it need it no will it hold yes. But I just love seeing a good looking 7018 weld. Any place where the metal touches and there is no weld is like a day without sunshine. I really like that Blue demon welder. All I got to say is dang they have come a long way with shrinking the size and weight of welding equipment. I would love to know what that machine cost. All my stick rod welding equipment is old my round top idealarc lincoln welds great but you need a cherry picker and a pickup to move it

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks man! That welder is a beast for the money. It's around 300 bucks and easily welds 6010 rods also. They have come a long way since I started welding too. I agree with you about laying down a nice looking bead where the factory left off. I intended on doing it but somehow I forgot and never went back to it. Thank you for your comment and support! Cheers

      Brandon Lund thank you for taking time to answer questions and communicate with your viewers. It is just easy to find yourself trusting a 7018 weld. I also like the idea of forming a seal around the parts. I live in Ohio so building things to resist rust is always a concern around here.

      I really enjoy engaging with our little community we have here. I hear what your saying about sealing everything up. I’m usually very particular about aesthetics also. I’m from Maine, so if it’s not sealed or painted, it’s rotting away in short order from all our winter salt. It’s brutal up here! Cheers brother!

    We call it "Cutting" an inch. I put the 6 3/4" on the centerline then mar zero and thirteen. The reason the end moves is to compensate for the thickness of the catch hook. It saves a stepand double checks the number as it's laid out.

    Another one for the books. How’s that Demon run 6010?

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Welding Junkie most all of the inverter type welders wont run a 6010. Supposedly the blue demon 160sti is one of the few that will. I haven't tried it yet but thanks to you I guess we are going to find out!!! Thanks for the suggestion!

    I have the exact bagger setup on my Craftsman riding mower but yours is far sturdier than the factory mounting system. I worked in the carpenter shop at NBC, Burbank in 1968. That's where I learned about burning an inch. Good tip, Brandon. You're probably not old enough to remember the "Laugh In" show but I worked on the wall with all the little doors that people popped their heads out of.

    Overall Wow!, I just watched the whole series on this tractor. Great work! I am currently in the middle of breathing life back into a 52 year old MTD tractor that belonged to my Wife's Grandfather!

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Rattletrap2 thanks man! This was a fun project. It's always enjoyable when you take something and make it useful and reliable again. It now has over 500 hours on it and the only problem I've ever had with it was this past summer the charging indicator on the dash came on saying the battery wasn't charging. I bought a 20 dollar rectifier off amazon and I was back in business in less than 20 minutes. It's super reliable.

    • @Rattletrap2
      @Rattletrap2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrandonLund my Cub Cadet Garden tractor had the same issue. The battery would die while cutting the lawn. I could see the voltage dropping on my dash. When it got below 10 volts, it would just shut down! I bought a new rectifier off Amazon, but still had issues. I found there was a bad ground on the DC side. I had torun a separate wire to a solid ground and all is well!
