    I have a slightly older riding lawnmower. A Poulan Pro PB145G38 and I’m looking to see how to get then replace the pin for the deck adjacent bar. The one that is the deck height. Thank you for these suggestions and videos

    Great video! Can you tell me what the hose is that is to the right of the spark plug on the oil filter side? Mine is loose and I'm trying to figure out why my mower is sputtering. Thanks!

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That small hose that goes into a plastic inlet to the right of the spark plug is just a vent from the fuel tank to satisfy emissions standards. It will not have anything to do with the mower not starting or sputtering

    I replaced the bushings on me E160 with bearings...does it defeat putting in the bearings to grease the spindle or would you still continue to grease them?

    Help!! I have this 2021 s140,only has 43 hours on it, its given me trouble starting since the second season! Ive changed the fuel pump and it still is hit and miss when it comes to starting. If i do get it started, it runs good🤷‍♀️

    • @IndRepair

      I would double check that the choke is actually closing all the way. It may just need a cable adjustment to solve the issue easily

    What grease are you using? JD has two recommendations in the S100 series manual. Which of course is a JD branded one that is likely merely a label stuck on a different brand. I currently have Red Tack grease that I've had, but I'm not sure if I need to replace it with something else for my JD S140. The whole grease thing is somewhat confusing to me.
    Thanks for the video!!

      We use Mystik Jt6 heavy duty SynBlend 460 normally. They recommend a Lithium Complex grease (the one i mentioned before is). We buy different brands at points but lithium complex is the only thing that is a must. A real pretty purple too lol amzn.to/4a6aQvz

      Use an oil for the temperate the manufacturer recommends and you will be good. Regular oil is just find

    Is there a way to check if a blade is slightly bent or not

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you clean the grass off and put both blades together they should lay flat whichever one is on top. If one way they do not lay flat with one another you know one is bent. This does not work well if they are both in bad shape

    Serious question not a troll. Why do small engine repair professionals always say "use 24mm or 15\16" socket\wrench? Its ot the same. 24mm is larger than 15\16. If 15\16 fits correctly than use a 15\16, no? I don't understand it I was always taught to use the correct tool for the job. I only ever hear it on small engine repair videos never car repair or any other repairs. Again, I'm not trolling I wish to know if i'm being the ignorant viewer and would like to be enlightened if I am being ignorant.

      Because either will work without stripping the head. Some people have one or the other, not both.

    • @philliphall5198
      @philliphall5198 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because some people don’t have the correct one and it’s for a get by thing
      Like adding aluminum can on bolts to make it tight to get off deal

    • @nhbountyhunter
      @nhbountyhunter ปีที่แล้ว

      Really? Ok I guess. I was just always taught if your going to do a thing, do to the best of your ability and part of that was to acquire and use the correct tool for the job. This would never fly in the auto industry. If a fastener is 15mm or 10mm or 18mm use the correct tool. Metric and std are not the same size save for 1 or 2 sizes.

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am doing these videos to help homeowners and casual repair people not for the professionals benefit. The difference between .945" and .9375 on a bolt this large is not enough to give anyone cause for concern. Many times on other things I will say the closest equivalent because that homeowner may not have that large of a socket 15/16 but may have a 24mm laying around or visa versa. You may have been taught to use the correct tool for the job, I definitely was also. Where we differentiate on that is what the definition of the correct tool for the job is. If it gets the job done is it not the correct tool for the job? There are thousands of ways to properly do every job. When we were working on grain bins in the middle of nowhere with grain rotting in the bin, the farmer did not care if we used a 5/8" or a 16mm as long as the job was done properly, which can be done with either many times, depending on the situation. If the tool works for the job, who is to say the correct tool is not what you have laying around without traveling and wasting time or money to get something that is 0.0075" different in size. I try to always take the practical approach, may not be agreed upon by all but if the job gets done then what is the issue? If we were flying to the moon I would use the exact size socket required and torque these bolts to spec without a questions, because that is a different scenario. Thank you for the question and for watching!

    Good thing this engine doesn’t have that dumb 30-second oil change setup on it.

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @2015_Rubicnn 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @IndRepair Yeah, I just bought a S170 and ditched that oil filter setup. In reality, it isn't so much about the oil filter as it is about a majority of the old oil is still in the engine.

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely! I think the filter is probably better than the smaller capacity ones (at least just as good). With that much dirty oil left over in the engine just switch the engine out every 5th time you change the oil! Haha! Thanks for watching!
