  • After a 16-hour ferry ride from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert, we make a break for the mountains and attempt to access a remote mountain lake, a camp spot considered inaccessible without 4x4. This is our biggest mission yet! We'll push the van to its limits .. and possibly past? If you love epic views, nail-biting adventure, living on the edge, and watching a 2WD delivery van being put through its paces, you'll love this story! Ride along as we go do something crazy!!

    ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. The cinematography. The storytelling. The risks. The suspense. The beauty. The food. The laughter. The mad skills you have in every department to pull this off. You two deliver on all fronts. I hope this video goes nuts on the view count. It deserves 100K!

      When I did this trail in 2021 there were multiple landslides and washouts considered impassible. I was the first one to navigate through them, by myself, in my Jeep. The trail is a lot easier now, but back then, this van wouldn’t have made it an hour into the trail. Yes, we have heavily built vehicles. They are not built for just one trail or situation, they are to get through anything. When we did this trail again last year, we also did several side trails that, if attempted by this 2wd can, probably would result in the death of the driver. Props to these two for making it through the trail though. Drive whatever you want, just go on adventures, and be nice to people. No need to be haters.

    • @SlowRoamers
      @SlowRoamers  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@TheStoryTillNow no hate here, buddies comment just made me chuckle. From what I’ve gathered the trail changes a lot from year to year and the difficulty of the trail changes also dependent on time of year. Awesome spot, impressive the old Chev made it in there, a lot to be said for some good tires and that winch paid for itself, I hope you managed to pull your straps off the rock on the way out.

      Hahaha, the winch is honestly paying us! Meg won it in an IG giveaway.🤣 Some OHV drivers actually pulled it out for us. They had to put two winches on it to get it out. They found us on the trail, thanked us for moving the boulders and handed the strap back. I was stoked, that’s not a cheap strap!

    The inside passage is definitely on my bucket list, although I would most like to do it in a small cabin cruiser. I lived up in Telkwa for about 18 months and did an expedition that began with a trip through the Telkwa Pass, and ended with a camp at Work Channel Inlet, the exact opposite way you guys went. Work channel was and still is one of the most epically beautiful camp spots I've ever been to. The pass was a challenging and interesting trip in my 99 CR-V with a 2" lift and big tires, so props to you guys for making it in your 2wd van! Our current family vehicle is a 2005 Chevy Express, which i think is the same as yours. I moved to Alberta two years ago, but part of my heart remains in the north of BC. Absolutely love it. Cheers!

      Radical!🤘🏼 that had to be a lot of fun. The Toyota RAV4 and Honda Crv are surprisingly nimble vehicles. BC definitely has our heart. I lived in AB for about 10 years and have some fond memories of it, but definitely realized how much I missed BC while I was there. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻

    All those backroads were mining and prospecting routes first. The miners and surveyors used those routes to scout out stands of wood and the roads become logging roads. There was enough gold found locally that from the late 1890s to the 1930s that basically signs of prospecting especially are everywhere. I live in Terrace and have spent quite a bit of time exploring the back woods around here.

      Also good time to do the pass all the major backroads around here have had some work done on them or people on side by sides have been doing work on them.
      The Telkwa pass was impassable when I was young for years because of a wash out or three.
      Also get a THERMACELL. They work for biting insects. I take mine out all the time, its a requirement around here.
