Title says first gen 01,02,.. but Curt suggests #13429 which goes over the muffler. Can you confirm #13530 fits? It definitely looks easier to install since you don't have to slide over muffler.
I did some research and you are absolutely correct about there being two different models of receiver for this generation on Highlander. I made the proper corrections in the description with links to the correct product. Thank you for bringing this up.
Do you know if all the Highlanders are equilipt to what that plug and play? Because I can't find Mine. I have a 2001 Highlander and I looked in that spot. There's nothing there is it only on certain models?

Good tutorial. Received a Curt hitch today for my '07 Highlander.

@BrianMDIY Thanks ,I got it ..the system I have plugs directly into the existing blinkers.. there's no plug n play on my model..
