      Hi Sandy. It is interesting how context changes from culture to culture. I am a British citizen but then I get here and realise that Napoleon is actually a hero and not the misguided bad guy and it all makes me smile.

    I'm a fellow Mississippian - from the Delta - but have lived most of my adult life in Arizona. We have some great markets here but would so love to travel to France and go to markets there.
    Thank you again for sharing your art, your travels and your wares. Wonderful ❣️

      Ah. Susan, one of the few things I really miss about living in the states are garage sales. We just don't have them in Britain! We sometimes have flea markets called car boot sales but they have come back irregularly since Covid. That's (one of the many reasons) why visiting France is the best.

    Good morning Kelly! Thank you for the lovely videos. At 4:00 on this video when you saw the rosaries, I saw those wonderful old irons in back of them. I have several old irons like that that belonged to my great grandmother and family members. I guess I have a collection because I have about six of them.
    Sorry I didn’t get to comment earlier, but Friday Saturdays and Sundays for the last six weeks I have been actually selling at a small flea market here in Texas, so that takes up my entire weekend.
    It was a treat to come home and go through French flea markets via video with you. Have a blessed week.

      @BookandPaperArts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello there! Would love to know how the TX flea market-selling is going. I tried it ONCE and boy, was it a lot of work. Re irons, my grandma in Tennessee used one of those old wringer washing machines, the one with the mangle, you know the kind? And I am not kidding, when we were little we bathed in a big tin tub outside. Yikes!

    Kelly, this vid was a blast! I loved your vintage buttons, marking the way to the best sales. I even think I heard your friend quietly snicker as he filmed that. ;)
    Loved the drums playing in the background as you guys shopped about! How beautiful, all those old amazing books, photos and roseries! Eegaads gurl, you really hit the Mother Load! Thanks for taking us all along with you.

    • @BookandPaperArts
      @BookandPaperArts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It always makes me smile to see the French stall dealers at these sales taking their time for lunch with a picnic and a bottle of wine in the sunshine. Too early for me but it is just such a delightful local scene. Sausage sizzles? I like that term. Even before I was vegetarian the sausage truck was the temptation of doom (to the waistline) of any good flea market. 😎😉

    Fun video to watch as we have not travelled in two years. It would appear that life is back to normal in France and not too many worries about covid or restrictions. I saw only one person wearing a mask. We are not in that situation (Canada) here unfortunately. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to seeing your haul in the next one.

    • @BookandPaperArts
      @BookandPaperArts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Blanche. Actually, the mask situation is a good 50/50 when it is inside, and many places are asking their employees to wear them, especially when serving food.Before I left I bought masks (the 94% ones) with huge flowers on them and they are really cute. But outside we wing it. It has been sunny and wonderful here. More soon! 🎨🥐🌞

I was actually late for your video because i was watching the News broadcast for hours I think the problem has come to the rest of everything they attacked to group of anti government protesters this morning more than 139 innocent protesters were injured by this now our Sri Lankan people's tolerance has over they are burning houses of parliament ministers and burning their offices also with this incident the prime minister ( president' s elder brother) was resigned i think sri Lanka will be driven to the correct path soon! • @La1Senora

      I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christian artifacts old & new. I've done much women's ministry with Hispanic believers. Those lovely ladies often gifted me with handmade rosaries & other religious crafts such as intricately woven palm leaves. Of course it became a collection. My favorite is a rosary made with beads of rose petals: fresh petals rolled into balls & dried. It came with a bottle of rose oil. But finding antique - vintage artifacts are pure joy!!
