    OK. Aktion? You kidding me? That is just amazing stuff. Lots of other great stuff as well! Glad I saw this video. I talk about Soul all the time on my channel, but this was an education. Cheers to you, sir!

      Hi! Must check out your channel. We need more soul and funk in the VC. There is so much music to discover. The house is too small and life to short to collect all ;) Thanks for watching. Stay Funky. Cheers. /Paul

      @@XjunkieNL Paul. Love your attitude on this. I wholeheartedly agree. Soul and funk is gruesomely unrepresented. There's a torch to be carried, and apparently we're doing it, along with John 6inchpianist and Nadine from SoulDisco, I guess. Keep on keepin' on!

    • @XjunkieNL
      @XjunkieNL  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahah, yes, we bring light to the VC, carrying the funk torch. Do you have time to talk about our funk lord and savior? :) Have to be careful before you know it, we are kicked out ;) /Paul

      Hey John. Hope all is well. No, KPM albums, how is that possible? I always heard they were thrown away with the garbage ;) Funnely enough almost all the ones I have are from Germany. Have a great week. Cheers. /Paul

    Hi Paul, great selections there.. love the band Pleasure, especially Joyous, Glide, Thoughts of old Flames etc. That Funk track on the German album sounded a bit like Os Mutantes! Hard to go wrong with those KPM’s too. Am a big fan of Mansfield & Hawkshaw particularly in that series. 👍

    • @XjunkieNL
      @XjunkieNL  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ed! Pleasure has such a great catalogue. Earlier I listened mostly to their earlier albums. But this one and Glide have so many fantastic tracks. One third of this KPM is composed by Keith Mansfield. The other two names I'm not familiar with (John Scott and Chris Gunning). Stay Funky. Cheers. /Paul

    Hey Paul, good to see you back. I love that band Pleasure, great funk musicians. I have almost all the Pleasure albums. You might also be interested in another movie soundtrack called, Shaft in Africa. Features the last hit single by the Four Tops, Are you man Enough. ✌️

I like watching your show ..Cheers Angelo

    You just talked me into buying one of the Groove To Funk albums Paul. The band Badder Than Evil was a real band. I have the single for the song 'Hot Wheels'. Which is taken from that movie if I am not mistaken. Is 'Hot Wheels' one of the songs from the Gordon's War album that you are holding? Outstanding update Paul. Man did I enjoy that one~

      Great to hear you got one of those, Rob. Always feel like I should apaologize for making people spend money, but it's great to share these discoveries. Indeed Hot Wheels is on side B of Gordon's War. Probably the best track on the record. Cool to know you have the single in the collection. Have a great musical weekend. Stay funky. Cheers. /Paul.

    Hi Paul, great funky sounds as always. I think one of the reasons why some people are a bit down on the rhythm makers albums is because it's so sought-after and usually so expensive. Sounds pretty funky to me though. All the best, Laurence

    german oldskool schlager and so-scalled volksmusik at its worst. even though the intro drum-loop of the first of the quasi-library tracks on that album is killer.
    KPM1171 might end up on my wantlist for that bassline in your second tune sampled. i think roni size / reprazent might have nicked this at some point. somehow reminds me of the tension in 'brown paper bag' even though that's a different sample in that tune.

    • @XjunkieNL
      @XjunkieNL  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahah, you're not a fan of oldskool schlager festivals ;) The tracks by Claus Dittmar on the album fall completety out of tune with the rest. Still not sure what the story is. That KPM is flying a bit under the radar. Would not be surprised if the tune City Limits used. Stay Funky. Cheers. /Paul
