Been buying and selling good stuff here since the McFadden days. Cool Chris knows what's up. Others have come , some have gone. Groove Merchants still here.
Soul & Funk addicted it's a pity that I missed this store....I was there in early July but I came just too late before the store closed at about 06.00 or 07.00 PM....Unfortunately I could not come back the day after as I had to go a bit further in my US Trip....I'll be back!!!! See you from Belgium!
you probably dont give a shit but does someone know of a way to log back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the account password. I appreciate any help you can give me
I am also a Soul, RnB, Doo Wop record collector. No decent record shops in my area of Delaware. Nothing in Southern Delaware. A real bummer !! I do my picking on ebay. The trouble is most ebay sellers have no clue, as to grading guidelines. I now purchase only from reputable record sellers on Ebay that know how to grade records and company record sleeves.
Yeah, you guys are right, because this guy sucks! He spends all of his time finding records his customers love, like a fucking chump! And then he tracks down obscure artists and fucking helps them get their music reissued so they can be appreciated all over again! What a loser. SO NOT A PROPER STORE. Fucking internet, man. it's just the worst.
cootaloot you don't get it at all...for me, the whole point of "diggin" or whatever people call it nowadays, was the buzz of finding that special record you had been after for years YOURSELF!! and paying hardly anything for it, instead of being scalped by some "loser" . Yup! s'right..
I avoid these shops like the plague! Nothing beats going to place with 1000s of cheap vinyls. And spending hours digging for rare classics, that are dirt cheap!
there's a place for shops like this. some people don't like digging and hell, if they can afford go ahead and spend over retail price for that rare soul 45 you need to complete your Kent Records Collection. these shops just aren't for me because I can't spend 100, 50 or even 30 bucks on one vinyl record. not very often anyway...
I mean people like getting the original thing as a trophy which can be seen as a bit silly, but if they want to that's cool. As long as represses are coming out, and they are, people who can't afford can actually listen to and love the tunes for they were meant to be in the first place.
Woa! How did I miss this place when I visit San Francisco in '97?!!! Cool place - and I love that Darando track! Fascinating vignette. Peace.
remember visiting Groove's Around my brithday at San Francisco along with Visiting Recycled Records, Aomba s.f., & Original Vinyl

Yes. Even when I visit home I go by..
Cool vid. Love this store. Nice people. Reasonable. Great feel. Lots of 45s too.
Damn look at that Otis T Johnson record in the background. Now that's a rare (and insane/amazing) album.

This one goes out to my man the Groove Merchant, coming thru with beats for which I've been searching.

@Jeffrey Zakai instablaster :)
that line is what made me search this....Proffesor Booty...which is a VERY underated amazing beat
It may be rare to his eyes and ears, plus he most likely knows his customers tastes. good video!! The sounds were good too.
Visited a few times. Always worth the trip.
That Darondo track is beautiful, though it sounds suspiciously like the Delfonics classic which came two years earlier.
I was thinking the same thing. It sounds like a riff on "Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time?"
constantly solid vibes, "Cool Chris" rules, as do Josh, Jon, Benji, Jerome, & Vinny so many quality jams purchased over the years.
Twilight's "Scorpitarius" from the prior album was a killer Latin Groove in the mold of Malo. Killer cut!
I am from Copenhagen, Denmark and know Darondo.
I’m from darondo and I know Copenhagen,Denmark.

Beautiful post vfeditions...
Peace N Respect!
Do all your videos have sound post-production? It seems as if the song clips you put in every one of them sounded better than the actual tracks?

That Round Robin record was so bad I don't know what to think about Groove Merchants or Luv n Haight anymore...
The guy needs a trip to Tokio and see what a Proper rare records store is .

Not very rare for a record shop owner
don't like shops like THI$$$$
+Rene Perez Your typical over-rated and over-priced record shop! Those LPs are unknown for a reason...

They are really nice. The vinyl is reasonable. No attitude. No LA stuff
Been a funk dj for a couple of years... These are not rarities to me
what does this statement mean ?
Have you ever heard Charlie Cuva soundtrack to the Robert Downey film The Pound? I know you have. Rare.
that guy attitude is irritating.
