That's Excellent video with good information and inspiring us , and I'm planning to buy? Can you make video about ...How to buy used Cargo van Ford Transit like the one you have? what we have to check before we buy it? what about gas mileage? what year made that will be acceptable? your recommendation highly appreciated
That would definitely be a good video! The year for the van does matter. Most companies like to work with newer vehicles while other don’t have a year limit for the vans. Gotta do you research locally, see what they are requiring and go from there.
Hi Tony thanks for the video. For this local route delivery what kind of insurance coverage is required and where do you look out for to get local contracts
That depends on the carrier you get with for contracts. Whatever their requirements are you must meet those. Some will want commercial insurance & some will work with regular insurance
Like what you doing I appreciate your insights and your videos. I have a question for you you don't need permits with a cargo van in New Jersey for crossing state boarders I notice you go from NJ to NY. Also you don't need to register with the FMSCA for a MC number?
Good morning I have a question How are you tracking your mileage And do you do your taxes quarterly or once a year And can you talk about health insurance that you pay for our pocket
Tony, great video as always sir keep going in 2024 💪🏾. I just had a question for you though I know you cannot name names of carriers or the companies that you have contracts with but I operate in Massachusetts around the Boston area. Does your carrier company have any contracts or leads in my area?
I commented on ur videos in the past I also live in jersey and tryna save up for van. Was it easy for u to find a reliable van ? How’s the insurance here in jersey and was it easy to find contracts for you ?
I see people get contracts but all say need a bigger van how did u get a contract with small items? I’m not expecting for ur exact contract but just looking for an idea in what to look at
Hey bro I paid 5k for the red 2001 ford e350. It was cheap and it turned out to be an amazing van. Those Econolines are tanks! Would definitely recommend if you don’t have a year limit for your cargo van. It’s an older so insurance isn’t as harsh but then again it’s also up to your driving history & record.
Tolls are gruesome. If I did my math right after making payments on the van, maintenance and insurance costs the van doesn’t seem to make much profit at the end of the month. Glad it sounds like you’ve made it work and thanks for the video
It's funny you mention that. I have a 2005 Chevy Astro Cargo and I did my first contract the other day. Temu e-commerce deliveries paying $180. Going from the south Bronx to Long Island NY. After doing the math, I basically worked for around $13 an hour. It was just to start off and I found it interesting vs doing the apps like Roadie. I may try it again though just to see if I can make it work. But like the video said, just write off as much as possible.
That’s correct. It’s all in your plates really. Commercial plates can’t be parked in public streets after certain hours depending where you are. At least my area is like that. I gotta pay for additional parking.
Have you tried indeed? It’s plenty of work out here in NJ. Use key words “cargo van owner operator” “Courier Cargo van” “Independent contractor cargo van”

It’s been amazing! Over 160k miles on it and over 2 years of use
Nice breakdown! Whats ur usual schedule? Start & end? Approx. how many miles do u drive a day? Thanks bro!
Depends which route. My bigger one is around 75 miles a day, about 8 hours a day.

Look I’m on indeed. Make sure to use key words that are cargo van related such as “owner operator cargo van” or “cargo van courier”
$30 an hours for the 6-hour/day contract minus taxes brings in about $24/hr. Does that seem reasonable? Curious.
Nice vid 👍🏾
Thank you! 💪
If I have a small contract to start off with that small van . Will be a good idea or start with bigger van?
Nothing wrong with starting with a bigger one.
