To those of you who are curious, this is indeed a redone version of one of my "attempt" songs. I'm currently in Jamaica, so I didn't really have time to make a whole video. I also get back on a Wednesday, meaning I'll only have 2 days to make a vid next week. Might take a break. Not sure yet. I hope you enjoy this one! It's a personal favorite :)
Hey Shady! I love your stuff dude. I know you are doing what you love, but please never feel pressured to push out such great content constantly. Burnout is no fun to deal with.
At first I thought this sounded like the water theme from Donkey Kong Country, and then I thought it sounded like a song from Phoenix Wright Really awesome song, thanks for this!
Why do I feel like I’ve heard this before? Edit: Just realized he originally made this in “Attempting To Make A 5 Minute Videogame Song In 1 Minute” Still a great song though!
Hahah nice try shady boi, but I hear that "here I come" melody line in there! (Really like the fact that you just sped up the melody line on those bell/epianos throughout)
Broooo that ending was insane. It had the same notes as “Here I Come” which caught me way off guard cause it’s one of my favorite songs by you. Very nice touch
sounds vaguely like an investigation song, maybe for a murder investigation im looking at you, danganronpa. sounds like one of the trial themes that starts playing during one of the minigames, or when the protagonist/the whole class has a moment of realization.
This sounds very similar to Apollo Justice, the old NDS game. Its whenever you use his bracelet to try and find subtle reactions to quetions Apollo asks. For example they're hiding something and their hand scratches the back of their head every time the question is repeated.
I like to imagine a big sideways cylinder representing the geometry of your world, the bottom of the curve being like an empty city street and the rest being semi normal, but the whole world from beneath you is slowly rotating, gravity maintaining its direction as it turns, meaning you have to find a place to go when the sky comes beneath you
This sounds like it could either be the theme to a completely frozen ocean level that once was filled with warmth, or an unsettlingly empty futuristic citadel that's lost most of its power. Both equally unnerving.
You’re videos are just pure gold You inspire me so much to continue working on my own tracks ! How do you do these piano roll videos ? Is that integrated in Cubase?

where's full blown exorcism 😉
no pressure
So that’s why it’s sound familiar. Cool
Have fun there buddy
I knew I recognized it! Great remaster!
Holy shit this was exactly what I needed. Been following in Woofle's footsteps as far as vg music goes but this explanation really helped.
The song that plays when you discover that YOU were the GUMMY WORM THE WHOLE TIME
Wtf lol
Gummy Worm
No wonder I’ve been healing.
It’s comments like these that make me really love Shady’s community
Username checks out
Sorry to tell you, but...
I might have eaten your family
"Drums if you're feeling *extra* cool"
Suggestion: "intentionally glitchy" game music. Either hype, or unsettling.
Breakcore/jungle
I hope the collector's edition of your future game includes a bonus gummy worm

I thought the same for the Donkey Kong Country one.
You should do an investigation theme! I’d love to hear your insight on one of those.
Shady: ”Don't take these seriously”
Me: *Takes it seriously*
Shady: Am i a joke to you?
Am I *not* a joke to you?
You already know I clicked this shit in a heart beat 💙
_why do i get such big undertale vibes from this i-_
*A N O T H E R M E D I U M*
This dude never fails to impress. Trippy is always cool.
Alright so I'm not kidding, hearing that leitmotif again sent shivers down my spine.
Fun fact: I named the main character of the game I'm making Shady because of you
Nice
Nice
good stuff
_if you're interested, it's a metroidvania called Blooming Darkness on Game Jolt_
This is Super Cyclone's game dev channel btw
Nice
I can't but help feel like this would be great for a more, quick pased cave where something just isn't right.
Why do I feel like I’ve heard this before?
Edit: Just realized he originally made this in “Attempting To Make A 5 Minute Videogame Song In 1 Minute”
Still a great song though!
Ikr? Its specually weird since its exactly the type of theme that would fit a "deja vu" situatuion, it almost looks intentional
SuBscr1pT_Lucid im trying to place where I’ve heard this...but I can’t think of where
atm i'm playing the new fire emblem game, it's giving me that sort of vibe. Maybe it just has a similar style to some games you've played before, idk
I THINK YOU'RE HEARING AQUATIC AMBIANCE DONKEY KONG COUNTRY
It sounds like an apollo justice song
Bard supreme weaving a spell to fill the mind with trepidation and mine is LOVING IT.
those drums are on fire
Got a major sense of deja vu listening to this track before I realized it was a redone track.
Sounds absolutely incredible btw
I love moments like 4:44.
i just think that basslines like that sound amazing, not to mention the choir.
I wish this was a full band arrangement and I could show my band teacher this and be like, "OMG WE HAVE TO DO THIS!!!"
Can I just point out the like to dislike ratio? Keep doing what you do Shady, we love it!
This makes me feel like I was the killer the entire time
UNDERTALE
Reminds me a bit of “Another Him” from Deltarune. Great Job Shady!
This could be also used for when you’re deep in thought in a narrative based or detective game.
How to make a trippy game theme:
*R E V E R B*
You gottem with that reel.
You're really good with how your tracks progress over time. From unnerving to melodic without any stops
The melody from "Here I come" was golden. Absolutely fantastic.
Also the hero motif. That was great as well.
Oh man that remixed melody with Here I Come! leitmotif is so dope, I'm glad you revisited this piece.
The key changes are so hypnotic
The beginning of the video is very Donkey-Kong-water-level-y
especially since its from donkey kong
4:44 Best Part. It feels so good to hear it, the choir makes it perfect. Very good job, Shady! :D
sounds vaguely like an investigation song, maybe for a murder investigation
im looking at you, danganronpa.

*This is the type of content I like to see!*
this may be one of my favorites of yours now oop
When i heard the mini notes with drums i instantly thought of celeste
Something about your reel ins really hit the spot
Anyone else getting abandoned laboratory vibes from this
yES
abandoned, underwater laboratory
By far one of your best ones, loved this one!
This screams Kingdom Hearts to me and I love it. Way to go, man. Always making amazing music.
„Sounds like an area where you’re inside someone’s mind trying to help them remember something. Hm...“
I see what you did there.
sounds kind of like an abandoned computer/laboratory, that still somehow has power, but is overgrown and stuff
Thank you shady, very cool.
I was playing Va-11 hall-a while listening to this piece of art and it fits perfectly with the ambient of that game… MAN, THAT REEL EM' IN
Love it
I loved this and now I wanna make a video game featuring all your music Shady!
PS. this song reminded me of Metroid tbh and I still love it
Shady. You provide great material examples and demonstrate a great flow of ideas. AND YOU TELL ME NOT TO TAKE IT SERIOUSLY????
0:34 reminded me distinctly of a track in Katawa Shoujo and it hurt my soul
Even if it's a redone version, it sounds as good as ever! God I love this song
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
it totally sounds like it would fit into the Cliffs of Morytha from Xenoblade 2, leading into the final area :')
This is what my favorite songs sounds like
That was absolutely freaking amazing
Yay another masterpiece!
This sounds like a Trauma Center song, love it
Oh nice, a How To for this one. I really liked it in the April Fools video so I'm ok with hearing it again. Hope you're not dying in Jamaica
Sounds really mysterious. I like it a lot!
Whatever this game will be, I know it’ll have one hell of a soundtrack.
I'm glad this is your favorite too this song is a fucking JAM
God. This. This! THIS!
GOD THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!
XD the Link at the end card got me off guard. Keep doing what you do Shady :D
Bum bum bum... Got it
"We will use the harmonic minor scale"
*plays regular minor scale without the bVI*
i mean shady confessed that he doesnt know the exact music theory, he knows his own theory thing
@@loib I mean, at least he kinda realised what it actually was in some of his recent work.
You should do a challenge where you make a video game song in chrome music lab
Hat Kid Chan!?
Some heavy Touhou LOLK Vibes. with the feeling of a Title screen, Shady is slowly becoming ZUN.
heckin superb you funky little music man
Amazing as always!!!
Amazing. Sounds perfect
I'm getting some serious Undertale vibes here
i miss your guitar videos
Id play that game
I swear I'm getting a Plague Inc. vibe from this...
But awesome tutorial!
Sounds like something you potentially hear be playing in a Metroidvaina game like Axiom Verge. Gives me those vibes a lot.
I know, like, nothing about the plot of Project Luca, and yet its music gives me so many FEELZ. 💞💔
This sounds like it could either be the theme to a completely frozen ocean level that once was filled with warmth, or an unsettlingly empty futuristic citadel that's lost most of its power. Both equally unnerving.
I'm getting such an Apollo Justice vibe from this
This reminds me of Born of Osiris for some reason
Am I tripping or is this a new video?
It's the re-done version of a 5 minute attempt video, so yes and no yes it's a new vid but it's an old Melody
Why not both?
both
@@blissfu_lee8522 That's what I said...sort of.
@@Corvus__ Indeed, I didn't notice someone else had said it before
Is that a bit of ‘Here I Come!’ in there? The melody is super sped up here but it’s still somewhat noticeable
its actually super slown down but yeah its here i come
This exactly what i wanted to learn wow
"Here I Come" leitmotif???? I did not expect that
Reminds me of Perfect Dark. That game had a great soundtrack
Ayyy
Sounds straight out of some platformer game
For some reason this song reminds me of Kingdom hearts 1. I think the hollow bastion theme
At the beginning of the video the small snippet reminds me of the underwater music in that segment from donkey Kong
Some of this stuff makes me wanna play Celeste again
Knowlessman I LEGIT JUST BEAT THAT GAME YESTERDAY! Whenever I listen to the song it reminded me of the games music.
This would go perfect with a platformer along the lines of something like Hollow Knight. An otherworldly underground cave level or something.
This sounds like “Here we are” from undertale (the song that plays once you get to the true lab)
Just shows they made a good way to make video game music
Ah hell yeah, it's on Spotify
Your like to dislike ratio of 1,100 : 1 is absolutely amazing
What program do you use for that midi representation at the end?
Stranger things vibes
Why is this so familiar O.o
I THINK YOU'RE HEARING AQUATIC AMBIANCE DONKEY KONG COUNTRY
This. I have this song. It's a great song.
If you made a full version of Tension, I will love you more than I love you.
You’re videos are just pure gold
You inspire me so much to continue working on my own tracks !
How do you do these piano roll videos ? Is that integrated in Cubase?
