The Redone version is a straight up legitimate song and not just Oboes, so get ready for a wild ride. Video Game Themes. ...With Oboes. What? Yeah, I don't really know either. Oboes are a great fit in Video Game Themes, and I love how they're implemented in fantasy-type games and overworld themes. But how beautiful would the song be if...it were all oboes? Well, I have a preset on one of my instrument programs (Xpand!2) called "Wood Wood" which happens to be a very funky Oboe. The name kind of stuck with all of you and then you asked me to make a song completely out of Wood Wood. So here we go. This is "Attempting to Make a Video Game Theme with Only Oboes in 10 Minutes". I hope you enjoy! The redone version is inspired by games like Zelda, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, Undertale, and my own silly styles!

the redone version sounds like you're in a cutscene and your best friend turns out to be the evil you're trying to stop, and as it turns into the more fast paced part, its like a flashback of all the good times you had together, and finally you coming to the present in the guitar riff and fighting them while screaming that its not too late, they can still turn back, you don't have to do this to yourself.

Fun anecdote: there was a chapel in my uni dorm last year which featured a huge organ that people couldn't really figure out (we preferred just using the piano) with various switches for different instrument sounds. I was messing around with those switches and I found wood wood! I still didn't really know what it was, it wasn't labelled very well, but I recognised the sound and astral projected into the next plane of existence.
(Then I used it to fuck around and play a bunch of Undertale melodies because that's the kind of person I am I guess)

Ikr, the only thing I would advice is make sure the music can loop (nicely) unless if the music is needed for an EPIC cutscene.

one of my favourite things about this series is that shady has developed a pavlovian fear response to the noise the timer makes when it runs out, yet still fails to ever prepare himself for when it happens

He uses one of the oboe presets on AiR XPand!2. The plugin comes with a few different MIDI controllers (Alesis V and VI series for example), or you can purchase it alone (idk the price)
