      Most welcome Sir..... bit confused about the washer orientation...... Actually the thick washer remains close to the rim or the thin one comes first..... kindly help.....

      The thicker taller spacer usually goes close to the wheel. If you change them around the brake arm will look like it’s severely angled and not vertical. Try it and experiment.

    Great Video ... Very well done I'm Glad you Cleaned that Rim up HOLY MOLY LOL. Brakes work much better on a New Refreshed Surface also I like to put one of those Cable Boots on the cable between the Noodle and the cable lockdown nut just for Appearance. THANKS You're Helping a lot of People out here

    Thanks. Very clear. I wonder why the outside parts need to have a thicker washer and concave washer? Neither seem to be necessary.

    • @BikeTeacher
      @BikeTeacher  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I want to believe they are helping with setting the correct articulation angles.

    • @coslifehurts

      Thanks, except the flat side of the thicker washer sits on the bracket so adjustment isn’t possible on the outside.

    Mine were a pig! Once I worked out the position of the callipers I then had to get the spring in the right hole. If it wasn't spot on the pads wouldn't line up on the wheel. Thanks for the pointers.

    My rare tire brake pad came lose, when I tighten it, I saw that one side stays stationary and one is moving. How can I make both side same space? I tried to adjust the tensions, but it didn’t increase or reduce the spaces at all

    • @BikeTeacher
      @BikeTeacher  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Each side has a small Philips adjustment screw to increase tension. Tightening clockwise will also increase the space between pad and rim. You want spring tension on both (sides) brakes thrive off of tension. Tighten the side of the brake ar that needs space (tension), also loosening the opposite side screw will allow more space the side you say needs it. When you loosen the screw you are turning the spring tension down or weakening it. Hope I did not confuse you.

    The thicker concave washer goes on the side nearest the wheel rim.

    The brake pads are too tight how do I loosen the noodle?

    • @BikeTeacher
      @BikeTeacher  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, you will need to turn in (tighten the brake lever's barrel adjuster if there is room or loosen the cable pinch bolt and let some cable out.

    Issue is my vbrake doesnt come back to position after releasing the brake

    • @BikeTeacher
      @BikeTeacher  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Each brake arm has a spring. It could be that one or both armed have little spring tension. Use the small screws on the side of the arms and tighten. Or the noodle is caught on something manipulating the v brakes.

    What about toe adjustment?

    • @BikeTeacher
      @BikeTeacher  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d say 95% of the time I don’t need to toe v brakes. They cooperate nicely.

    I believed the sequence for your washers were arranged wrongly for yoyr left pad.

    I'm going nuts here. Neither way bring caliper to lock . Changed all positions of washers and inches off.. ugh!

    • @BikeTeacher
      @BikeTeacher  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you saying the noodle will not engage? Have you tried to release cable tension, double check for ends of housing not sitting correctly?
