I feel like every composition of yours explores a different composer's style. This must be your Claude Debussy devotion.

That's certainly how I approach these pieces. And yes, I was indulging in quite a bit of Mr. Debussy in preparation for this.

Very unlike your other slightly more formulaic works. It feels a little less tethered whilst exploring some improvisational undertones.

One of your best piece, Laurent...it feels more contemporary than many of your works and I like that feeling of independence. It is graceful and heartfelt.

That's very high praise coming from yourself. Thank you so much John - this was certainly a very interesting composition to put together. My brain by default is far more attracted towards structure, form and convention. Moving away from that, albeit not too far, was a real challenge. I really appreciate your comments and look forward to more of your incredible music.

@@LaurentSaultsame impression, very different from most pieces but you can still hear this more impressionist style on a older piece of yours. Your new one sounded a bit orientalist.
You could had developed it further adding more structure in this apparently "less organized" vibe into a poetry were the same melody is repeated but in a minor scale or pieces of it are divided and suffer little alterations. Of course, that, however, Is a stylish path and may not be truly your way. Still, I share this idea
