I feel that perhaps on a technical level I am improving as I am always attempting something new but in terms of composition, I still really love many of my earlier works. Thank you Rhiannon.
Bravo, Laurent. I love how you let this piece open up and flow and build to a climax. Less reliance on repetition and more development and freedom of form. Keep it up.
I reflected a lot on your advice and realised I was trapped in the same thematic loop. I was so desperate to find my way back that I shut myself off from other possibilities. Our conversation definitely freed me up a little and once I started to just take a few risks it all fell into place. I still feel a few of the transitions are perhaps a little forced but overall I’m quite pleased with it. It’s not as free flowing as I’d like and feels more like a collection of interesting ideas as opposed to one unified piece of music but I think that’s okay! Thanks again John for your kind words and also for your advice. It was hugely appreciated and very much considered.
@@LaurentSault You will love my new Vivace. The video as a link in the descriptions with the piano synthesia video for you to see. It is a private video. I think it have what you are trying to achieve. th-cam.com/video/y3c9if586ng/w-d-xo.html
It was so enjoyable to work on and I'm just so pleased personally to have revived this one in particular. Thank you Sammy, you are appreciated my friend.
Having managed to fit such an expansive piece into just three minutes is quite the achievement, Laurent. Really nicely done - this was a magical journey indeed.
I'm so glad you think so Bryan, although I would love to start working on some longer pieces if I can. I just get very bored very quickly of certain themes or ideas and am always tempted to just rush through the piece, as evidenced in this composition. It's something I need to work on I think. Thanks again for the wonderful comment.
@@LaurentSault thank you so much. I can only say the same about you. Seeing such a talented composer as you commenting on my channel makes me feel like maybe I have a chance at becoming a real composer one day
Whilst I think you could have done a slightly better job navigating your way through this piece (as it felt slightly disjointed in one or two places) thematically this is amongst your strongest works. Overall, this was a hugely satisfying listen that, at multiple moments, rewards the listener with consecutive compositional payoffs. I just wish these sections were slightly better tied together, but overall this is a fantastic achievement Laurent.
Your thoughts mirror my own exactly. Somebody else said it felt more like three variations of the main theme linked with some flourish, which I think is an accurate assessment. Thank you so much for the comment and for listening Christoph, you always contribute such thoughtful musings.
I had written that section separately from the rest of the piece and rather early on. I spent an agonisingly long time attempting to squeeze it in somewhere! Thank you Jonas.
@@LaurentSault That never works well for me. I think we are under influences acording to our timely mood. If we let too much time pass, we get too distant. It is as if the unitary effect that Edgar Allan Poe talks about is only produced - musically - in a shorter time. Or inspiration imitates the listener expirience.
Yes I absolutely agree. I see this piece more as three movements around the same theme linked with some virtuosic transitions and flair. Thank you Ayanda.
I think it all could had been a great build up introducrion to a staccato long moment starting entrying at 1:48 where there are dotted chords accompanied with upper and lower melodies talking to each other. I would delete everything after 1:48 and do that, using the theme in parts of this new section
Crazy Kramer!
Giddy up!
My ears are in heaven right now ♥
What a lovely thing to say Kira!
A masterpiece!
Too generous but thank you
Laurent you are getting better and better with each composition. I feel blessed to have witnessed your journey 💕🥰

@@LaurentSaultsomethings we achievable on earlier works when we had a different style. It is problematic to modify then without breaking it
Wow brilliant👍❤️
Thank you so much Veronika. I have been hoping to hear some more of your original work - I loved your waltz so much!
I love it - Beautiful ❤️🎹❤️

I was desperately hoping you would expand this étude but I was not expecting this. You have outdone yourself Laurent Sault, bravo! 👏👏

Your best work in my opinion, brilliantly composed and performed. Congratulations on your success.
Thank you Yoav, far too kind.
What piano vst is this? It sounds so clean.
I use Grandeur by Native Instruments. I used to use XLN's Addictive Keys which I would also recommend but I prefer this.
Nostalgic with longingness.
You are mastering your skill well keep up the good work
Just doing my best!😉
Very cool etude 🎶🎵
Very cool comment Angus 😎

Sublime work as always
Appreciate that Auor, so nice of you to say so.
Those bass octaves at 2:10 🤩👏
Appreciate that - it was a risky addition but one I think has paid off well.

Yeah, but it works in itself
