I've always felt a waltz is one of the easiest composition to write, but one of the most difficult compositions to write well. They often can feel rather repetitive and childish whilst being locked in to a certain structure. But you seem to have mastered the artform with this work. It is sublime.

I was speaking to somebody today about waltzes that focus mostly on the tonic and dominant, and how they're a great example of just what can be done with such a basic and restrictive formula. It's why I love the waltz so much - you can do as little or as much as you want.
