Love your attention to detail. Your guys's shop is set up. LOVE it. Im putting together a short rod (5.4's) 12.4:1 comp 2332 right now with CB street fighter heads/IDA's ... using 86c... going into a 900 lb sandrail. Should be fun.
Keep posting the video's. I would like to watch more about carbs and tuning. I was trying to watch what you were doing and follow along, but didn't quite understand. How do you like the EMPI carbs and how did you know it needs main jets and are you increasing or decreasing? You obviously you have an "ear" for tuning and maybe you can "school" us on how to do it.
the previous video I literally did jut that your asking for. I tuned and dialed in some dual carbutators. and I talk about the process. and I do like the Empi carbs sometime they work good and on the Dyno they have made good power.
Keep it up guys. Love the engine build videos. Not too many doing VW content. Would that combo and a bit lower compression make a good driver? Been looking to build a good 150+HP street motor.
Can I pick your brain a little. Building small stroker 92 x 76 stroke, running CB Panchito heads, H beam rods 5.5 on B pistons, Dual 40 hpmx carbs, going to run 9 -9.5 compression. I was looking at the FK8 cam? Too much, or would you have better suggestion. I really don't know. Also, if you don't mind what oil sump do you like to run. Thank you, Antonio
Are those the GTV EMPI CNC heads? What kind of manifolds did you use (nice welding and porting)! Why are you using that distributor is that what the customer had too?
Im looking into building a 2276 using the EMPI Stage 3 heads 44x37 and 48IDFs. I want to aim for about 200HP. I would like the engine to be streetable for some weekend driving and occasional track use. What cam and rocker and compression combo would you recommend? I really appreciate all your videos.
@@volkstroke for rockers would you recommend roller rockers? Or can you get away no rollers? Thanks again for answering all these questions. I’ve built a lot of Formula Vee engines but never a high performance VW.
What is that sump on the engine? Is it an EMPI 3.5 quart sump? How did you extend the oil pickup tube did you weld/braze an extension on or did you clamp it on? I have this sump and can't get the extension clamped on. The clamps never tighten all the way. I want to buy the CB extended pickup and just yank the one that's in there altogether. thank you
frist question is a Empi 3.5 q standard since the car is not low I always run the long pick up from CB and cut to lenhjt sometimes I will run welded extension on to the cases specially the original style late mag blocks I rather just weld them but the aluminum cases I just place a long black one from CB
@@volkstroke haha yes as an experimental plane. We have 3.6 liter o-360 4 cylinders that can be hot-rodded out to 230 hp but I think you guys could make it much more and keep it reliable?
Hi Friend, Your vids are awesome! We specialize in the production of automotive radiators, heat exchangers, and cooling system components. I've been watching your videos on TH-cam and really like your content. We're wondering if we could collaborate. Would you like to put our products to the test and review them on your channel?
I watch a lot of your videos and the motors all kinda sound the same. BADASS!
Thanks man we do try to build them the best possible way

Hell yeah
I believe it
I’d love to see yall do a video on the transmissions. No one ever shows the transmission set ups 😢

Great point! And your totally right but mid 9 should do it and last forever
I see you use the standard air deflector for cooling. Many say the type 3 are better but, I am not 💯% sold on that. What do you think?
No way the T3 was a recall from what I hear from old timers here in la and Orange County there’s no way they are. Better
Glad to see a 914 in the shop. Does this mean you are building type IV motors now? Would like to see about getting one built up....
Oh no I have built some in the past not my engine of choice but I have built some 2500 cones
What is your starting off point for airs/mains/idles and mixture setting? Sounds great on startup. Sounds nice and crispy!
Whatever the carbs came with 120 airs and 130 main on 70 idles
Long time follower here , love all ur builds and videos !!! Quick question what do u use to seal the slip joint exhaust?? Thanks 🙏
Noting I just slide them in I never have them lesl

Sump the low profile but depends on the car

Thats what my chop needs.

Yes stage 2 cnc
Cb manifolds
He had a flamethrower took that off I put a MSD to install 2 step and limiters
Topchop! Beautiful
Is that a six v system? If so what cooling fan are you using. And what is your redline going to be? Sorry if I might have missed that in the video.
Max rpm 7200
Six V!?
What kind of power would a setup like this make? What would you expect it to do in the 1/8 mile?
Not much the gearing isn’t helping and it’s a bracket so not shooting for more than an 8.20
