Many thanks for the lovely review of my intro, Olly! Hope you enjoy the rest of the book! 😁
I'm sure I will!
It looks like a varied reading week and Machiavelli is a tough one to not squish down into one syllable. I always think that the half face illustrations on those Corgi The Executioner books looks like Ian McShane.
When I read Corgi the Executioner I went looking for dogs. Because a Corgi running around fighting the Mafia is hilarious.
Sadly, Corgi is the Publisher. 😅
That would be amazing
It kind of does!
Canadian Crisis! I'm always looking for men's adventure books with a Canadian setting.
It was a fun one!
🕵️
😃
What are the most disturbing books that do not have graphic sex scenes. Or at least keep it to one paragraph.
I think (and it's been a while since I read them): Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo and The Yellow Wallper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Michael Ennis wrote "Malice of Fortune" with Machiavelli, da Vinci, Pope Alexander VI, and the pope's son Cesare de Borgia. It is an entertaining historical crime fiction of the search for a possible serial killer. There appear to be other books along the same lines. "A Borgia Daughter Dies" by Maryann Philip is first in a series of books about Machiavelli's daughter as a sleuth. I have not read it, and it is not available at the library, so I probably won't be reading it. The Bolan books were interesting quick reads from a different time - organized crime and Mafia were considered the same thing. Now the Mafia is just one of many.
.
The Ennis book sounds fun!
Added Titanium Noir to my list. I'm currently reading the first Amanda cross mystery recommended by Pat at book chat with Pat. Enjoying that.
I'll have to check out Amanda Cross
