Kicking off the season was quite interesting - the condition looked great and the temperature got warmer but the bite was slow. I managed to catch one good size tautog which was very close to being a keeper. Watch me catch it here!

Yes ! Might go next weekend for some Tog .
Thnx for the video Ray
Good luck bro. Hope you get a keeper.
You’re the man bro! Love the videos. I never catch fish in NJ for some reason but I live vicariously through you lol. Keep em coming!
Thanks Joe
Congrats man! I’ve been trying for them with no luck yet. Hopefully end of the month there will be an opportunity to land one before the season closes in NY.
Thanks bob! I had more action at outgoing tide probably because of warmer water from the bay. Good luck bro!
yoo this is the ‘the friend caught 13inches’ great video! My dad caught a 21 inches last Thursday, and when the tide is low. Apparently, bites are better when the tide is low, so togs are forced to swimming out of the rocks. Good luck!
That’s crazy bro your dad is a beast. Maybe I’ll come out next week and try again thanks for the report brotha.
Good stuff bro, you’ve come a long way since our petshop days. Glad I came across your channel.
Is this John?
@@TriboroFishing Yea brother
Damn bro it’s been a long time hope your doing well. Holla at me if you ever want to fish bro lol.
Good shit bro,the bite in central Jersey has been pretty slow. Was in AC yesterday and the bite on fire.Caught my first keeper of the year.Hope to see you out there soon.
Yea man I just got report that tog fishing is picking. Got to hit the jetties before season closes. See you out there bro.
Keep up the good videos.
Thanks Ricardo
the rocks look good
Game on! glad to see that you at least caught a nice fat one,,, next time you'll get his older brother. I got skunked jigging green crabs near kettle bottom rock on friday. still too cold here in rhody i guess stay safe mr. triboro
Thanks Tim. The bite was really slow but got really lucky with this one. You too stay safe bro
Wowwww...👏👏👏
Hi ray just giving an update I got a bunch of Asian crabs but no luck with the tog! Glad your getting out there brother tight lines 🙏
That’s awesome that you found a spot for crabs. Net you going to catch better quality fish.
That Twin Power looks like it was made for tog fishing!
Perfect for togging
hope to see keeper next time
Thanks bro
hey man, would you ever come back up to hackensack? The catfish have been going off where you fished last time you were here, and some carp/ blue gills too.
Yea I go there sometimes maybe I’ll be back to catch some carp bro
@@TriboroFishing for sure they are mostly on regular worms and corn
Ok thanks I’ll do that
Great to see you back in it Ray, that rod is sick. Tight lines as always
Thanks man! I freaking love this rod it’s just my style.
Any reason you made the change from the VR to the Shimano?
Just wanted something lighter and smoother to pair with my custom night ranger rod.
How come you didn't try using clam? I heard that the early spring tog have "soft" mouths and like clam better than crab. Can you make a video on catching green crabs? Are they everywhere along the NJ coast?
With gas prices now I didn’t have enough money to buy clam bait lol. Im still learning how to catch crabs myself soon as I get better at it I’ll make a video. Thanks for watching Thomas.
@@TriboroFishing I've been wondering how to catch green crabs. I'm looking forward to seeing your video on that.
What kind of foot ware do you use on a jetty
If I’m wearing my waders I put on my Dark horse wading boots korkers.com/products/darkhorse or if I’m wearing regular shoes I use the Overshoe korkers
korkers.com/products/casttrax. Good luck buddy
For me the best bite to catch them are sea clams
How long do you leave the crab trap
Minimum of one week or if it’s slow I leave it for two weeks
@@TriboroFishingHow do you leave the traps in there for that long? Arent you worried someone might steal it
Where are u fish at ??
Nj inlet
Whats NJ?
What trap is that
I got here ketchamsupply.com/product/large-green-crab-trap/
@@TriboroFishing I bought that trap , do you leave it over night with bait or you just bait it and let it sit for a couple minutes , also what do you use for bait
@@almmalivree1918 I save the fish guts from the last catch and use it as bait or I use Bunker and I leave it for one week.
@@TriboroFishing got yah , thanks man
It’s been mad slow
Just got report that it’s been picking up.
Nice catch, try and release the females even if there keepers.
For sure
