One of the best in observational comics. It's a gift to be able to take everyday things we do without thinking about it, and make it interesting and funny
Love watching him , he was not scared to give a proper joke on tv , everything is censored now and diluted with no taste, great to see real comedy to relax me, a good laugh is what we need so thanks

@@kevinbeck6785 thank you Kevin. Bless you.he was God's own comedian was Dave, he sure had a sense of humour. My ancestors were Southern Irish, we were O'Regain's going back many generations but was shortened to Regan in the 1800s. Been doing my family tree which turned out challenging as one of my G.Grandfather's x 4 were called Michael and there were hundred's to trail through. Have found easier way by going backwards from my dad, his dad and so on. Many came here during the potato famine in the 1840s and docked at Liverpool before dispersing all around the country, some went further afield like USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia where food was easier to obtain for their families, found that many died of starvation, such a shame how they were treated by the English, no wonder they don't like us. Can't say I blame them for doing so. Quite a few were my ancestors. 😪😪

How eerie it is to hear Dave talk about phone technology about how you'd be able to see the person u were talking to. It was inevitable I guess & we have come further still from this. Dave passed in 2005 so this was 15 years ago. Yes, Dave could be right TV will soon be two-way.
On that Karate skit at the beginning I thought he was going to go outside and scream in pain, "Aaaahhhhh!" but the actual punchline was less predictable.

He was an Irish comedian who loved his whisky. His trade mark was he had approximately half of his left index finger missing. He used that as a prop in some of his episodes.
Thanks for uploading this. I almost forgot how much I liked Dave Allen. Most of these old shows, if you go back and watch them again, aren't nearly as funny as you remember them being Not so for Dave.

I've been looking for these.
Thank you.
Thanks for posting....Nice job and much appreciated!
Dave Allen is simply brilliant.
as Dav , say at end of of his shows,, my your god go with you,! & my his god go with him,!! god bless from northern ireland,! was a kid back 70s, 1st hear / see him, on tv ,back then,!! but was a 3 year old in 1971
I was too young to remember this episode but I recall the later 70's shows most. My Gran was a devout Catholic and used to disapprove sometimes but not enough not to watch.
+Johnny Gidharry Correct 100%
no love lost between him and the British, eh?
What?! His humour was very British!
we loved him, it was the republic that baned him
evilpixie96 Thank you for the tidbit of info. Interesting to know about how Dave Allen was banned. My late Ma used to enjoy Dave Allen. Very funny man. Another very funny man is Noel V Ginnity, he is on Ceol Music channel youtube. Need more laughter in this ole' world.
Brilliant and Outstanding, very Bold, my all time favourite
In 2021, this is, simply, brilliant!!!
DAVE ALLEN, BRILLIANT. " And may your god go with you" 👏👏👏
dave was a true genius of comedy when britain had some of the best comedians ever
Dave was Southern Irish and his humour was loved by so many of us who left to live around the world, he remind so many of them of the old country and their ability to tell a God story and joke. Next month my late, lovely dad would have been 91, I Will put Dave's shows on my laptop and sit with his photo and my late husbands to watch him together in remembrance. RIP to Dave and my lovely late Dad and husband who are keeping everyonè laughing in Heaven.❤❤❤
@@kimgrattage6049 Dave would have said, Goodnight and May your God go with you, very touching your lovely story. ❤❤❤
@@kimgrattage6049 Well done with finding out about your family tree, i remember watching a programme about the potato famine, i tried with my family tree but gave up, i live in North Wales, not far from Liverpool
@@kevinbeck6785 Where in North Wales. I always go there for my holidays. I live in Staffordshire.
This guy was just brilliant
Brilliant love watching him , love all the sketches , and so handsome too 🎉 l think his God has a sense off humour too , we all need a good laugh 🙏🏻
The first episode. I was dying to see it!! TY so much!😅
Dave Allen was real Class. He really knew the job at hand. He was the best, it's an awful shame it had to come to an end.
Omg loved the show, wttw had to air this show when I was young!
He was 100% Wright about TVs watching you , If only I could go back in time and enjoy again never mind.
Last skit sums it all. Supeb! Superb! Superb!
This was the same year that I was born.
Obviously a great year.
Any kid born in 2020 will unfortunately, be unable to say the same.
How eerie it is to hear Dave talk about phone technology about how you'd be able to see the person u were talking to. It was inevitable I guess & we have come further still from this. Dave passed in 2005 so this was 15 years ago. Yes, Dave could be right TV will soon be two-way.
and how now, our 'smart tv' IS listening to us
On that Karate skit at the beginning I thought he was going to go outside and scream in pain, "Aaaahhhhh!" but the actual punchline was less predictable.
Bloody brilliant comedy.
Fascinating. I don't remember him ever having notes in his lap.
Best drunk impersonator you'll ever see.
Interesting to see that one of the makers of Kentucky Fried Movie seems to have seen Dave's "TV watching you" sketch, and "borrowed" it for their film!
Best looking guy ever to get on the stand-up stage.
Brilliant. Comedian
Never heard of him before but I've started to watch his show as of an hour ago =D
+Captain Crazy Check out my Official "Dave Allen" channel on here... I'm having issues getting some up recently but all 5 series of this programme will eventually be up!
OMG!! Well good for you., Dave Allen is great! I use to watch it on TV with my father when I was like late teens, early 20's. Re-runs in Boston, USA. So funny. One time Dave Allen did a One Man Show at a theatre in Boston, and we went. My father and I were ripped, in stitches, gut and ribs killing us, rolling in the aisle, literally. My father lived Benny Hill too, but I couldn't stand that fat old perv!!
We here is Boston were very lucky in the 70s. We got Dave Allen, Benny Hill AND Morecambe & Wise!
Tim Pendergast Dave Allen yeah (ch 38), Benny Hill NO! (ch 56), I could not stand him, what a perv! Morecambe and Wise, I have no idea what or who that is. Never heard of 'em!! Must have missed 'em. I went to see Dave Allen perform a one man show at the ............ Wilbur, maybe ... I forget ... in Theatre district of Boston. He was a riot. My guts were ripped!! Ribs aching, rolling in the aisle, literally.
He was an Irish comedian who loved his whisky. His trade mark was he had approximately half of his left index finger missing. He used that as a prop in some of his episodes.
A great story teller, class act dave
I have not seen these in 35 years. Thanks for posting them.
Thanks for uploading this.
I almost forgot how much I liked Dave Allen.
Most of these old shows, if you go back and watch them again, aren't nearly as funny as you remember them being
Not so for Dave.
so right, a great comedian
So way a had of his time with his cheeky charm. Sickeningly handsome. He ripped the piss out of everyone and everything. Frankie Boyle anybody?
If Frankie Boyle ever even dreamed he had half the talent of Dave Allen he should wake up and apologise.
Boyle's humor is saying a cuss word every 5 words. The younger the audience the better the reception to his humor. Dave Allen was genius level talent. Frankie Boyle is almost unknown in the States. Not in the same galaxy.
