    • @jeromebloom_gripcraft6031
      @jeromebloom_gripcraft6031  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! As is the case with most technique based exercises you need to practice the Set just as much (if not more) than the full close. For the months when I am training up to heavy gripper closes I tend to mix it up with occasional reps, regular timed holds and deliberately practicing the Set on the actual Gripper that I am training to close. This is important because the set-up feels different with every level of gripper

    Hey do you by chance know any other brands that offer accurate weights per gripper? Cause I am repping 200 lbs according to another brand

    • @jeromebloom_gripcraft6031
      @jeromebloom_gripcraft6031  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, there are actually no brands that offer accurately rated grippers. The numbers they provide are and average strength for the spring, not the gripper with the handles. For instance the Captain's of Crush #4 is actually only a bit over 200lb if measured from the handles and the #3 is something like 150lb.
      Your "200lb" gripper would probably measure a bit over 100lb as the actual power in your hand. You need to look up companies that provide calibrations for individual grippers. For instance Cannon Power Works

    • @jeromebloom_gripcraft6031
      @jeromebloom_gripcraft6031  ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd be interested to know that the heaviest gripper ever closed measured a little over 220lb. This was for one particular Captains of Crush #4. Some are as low as 200lb, which is still a huge weight. I don't know why manufacturers quote spring strengths. It is not an indication of what weight you are squeezing in your hand.

      @jeromebloom_gripcraft6031  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it definitely makes a difference because the leverage that we get through our shorter hands is at a much less efficient angle. Basically smaller hands literally add weight to the gripper and increasingly so the wider the set. This is why if you or me were trying to achieve a credit card set on this #3 gripper then it would be equivalent of someone with a large hand (8" or more) closing a gripper rated at least #3.5 or #4
