This is a great new challenge from Dafydd Lewis' ROAR ARMWRESTLING. The Roar Dragon One Inch Block weighs 23kg and has to be lifted with the Key-pinch style of grip. Dafydd has told me that he will be increasing the weight to 25kg for his next GripFest Event!

Great job fellas but yall should train your muscles more
The pinch between your thumb and forefinger is legendary. Try pulling a dollar out of your own hand, grasping it like that.
I would still want some chalk 😉
@@jeromebloom_gripcraft6031 for sure, might as well

Great lifts mate, very inspiring!
Thanks mate!
Hello my friend I want ask you I see you close coc3 and weghit 67 that awesome and my weight now is 66 and I close 150 lps 20 reps how i can be to strong to close coc3 ❤
Hi, generally I would say get the next gripper up from the one you do reps with and practice single closes and timed holds. High reps are not good for reliably increasing strength.
@@jeromebloom_gripcraft6031 yes I bay 200lps but i can’t Evan do it 2cm is very hard and what is meaning singel close i don’t understand
how high did you lift it also is this the world record today please tell me i have a project due tomorrow on the strongest grip strength
Hi Oliver, the official World Record is 21.8kg for a measured lift in competition conditions. Lift height would be a minimum of 13 inches (33cm). Any official record attempt has to be sanctioned by the World of Grip organisation. The official records list can be found on this link www.davidhorne-gripmaster.com/worldrecords.html I actually have a personal best lift of 22.7kg, however that was not achieved as part of a sanctioned competition.
Can we cut the grass before filming
You some kinda lawn enforcement officer?😆
💥💪
Enjoyed watching that back, could pull you every week Jerome!
You would be welcome any time mate!
Good times Jerome! You’ve been on my bucket list to visit for quite some time 🙌 Big thank you for the warm welcome, hospitality and great pointers on the table 😎
It was a pleasure. Hopefully next time round the weather will be better!
Impressive
You gave me motivation, I'm 5'5 and weighing 76 kg, I started two months ago and I'm close to closing the 300 pounds.
Keep up the good work!
@iamquinstott
Imagine thumb war with this man
😂😂
Good lift
Thanks!
Epic session lads.
Great stuff. I'm really feeling it now!
WOW, props to you. I almost got discouraged from the training, but this gives me hope that I can close #3 one day too.
Thats crazy.
Good tips
It’s been decades since I last saw Sai, he was a beast in calisthenics. Sai and Ranjit were beasts. Forward my hello to him.
I will do so! 👍
That’s crazy man
Steel 💪🏻
Can't get enough of this lift mate. 25kg, amazing!
Thanks mate! ☺️
My Lord Jerome, if you would be so very kind. I wanted to know what training you suggest to build strength to crush an apple in one hand.
Thanks 👍 That would be quite a different type of grip, cupping strength as opposed to key-pinch. An easy way to actively train your cupping power is with thick rubber rings. They are available online and at different power settings.
@@jeromebloom_gripcraft6031 could you please provide a link
Nick looking extra strong!
Thanks for the video as this is an event in the 2024 world king kong grip comp. In addition, this would be a wonderful arm wrestling exercise for the thumb as it’s very similar to how the hand is positioned in a match.
Thank you! I am a keen armwrestler so hopefully you are right! 😉👍
I'll check my technique next time. Thanks for the advice mate.
💪🏻
Just seen this mate, insane strength! Nice one!
Thanks mate! The most I managed that year was 27.45kg
That's mad! How do you stop your finger tipping up?
@@timhall1167 I don't curl my hand up, instead my forearm comes up and my hand deflects down
Unreal power
Thanks! ☺️🙏
Thank you! I would be curious to hear from your experience how does training this lift transfer to other grips and exercises?
I would say that the Finnish Ball has better crossover value in grip than coin lifts because it works the supportive (cupping) potential and general grabbing. This could potentially be a benefit for armwrestling and something like Brazilian Jujitsu but I would still say that quality time spent training those specific sports is better.
@@jeromebloom_gripcraft6031 thank you that makes sense! That’s good to hear I just got one yesterday to train for the upcoming King Kong Challenge, thank you for the information and the tips!
@@ludovicgallant9760 Cool, happy training! It's worth mentioning that for the King Kong Competition they don't allow any angle on the thumb so definitely concentrate on your finger cupping strength to maximise the support
@@jeromebloom_gripcraft6031 Thank you that's great advice I'll make sure to train that way to make it more specific!
Very technical! Thank you.
You are very welcome! 👍
Really cool! Yes, Andrew needs more back pressure.
Awesome i needed this. Thank you 👍
Just got into grip training, got some for Xmas. You made that look easy 😮 awesome stuff 👍
Thanks! ☺️
Im 13 can close 167.5 pounds
'PromoSM'
Excellent job. Did you ever work towards the 3.5?
Thanks! Not yet. Other goals got in the way but I'll definitely get back into it in the near future
I'm working my way towards the 2.5 right now, then the #3
@@breakarm8782 great stuff! I hope you enjoy the journey! 👊
Jerome have you never been able to move your wrist full range of motion? Or did it just gradually happen, cause look up jody chocolate thunder williams he had something similar with his wrist I think it was he couldn’t fully pronate and in one of his videos he said he got it fixed, think it was through stem cells but yeah his thing was pretty similar to yours and now its fixed
Beast bro. Dont see you upload much anymore. Are you gunna go for #3 cert?
Hope he comes back/ replies but I think his hands may be too short for a credit card set, he is very strong but scroll down he has like 6.7 inch long hands which I would guess are too short for the width of a #3, idk know though cause I have never held a 3 or wide gripper like that, also I have similar hands stats as him except mine are far skinnier and weaker as I am still working for a 2, he gives me a lot of inspiration though he must have trained very hard and has high testosterone cause grip is a good measure of it especially cause he is kind of light and 5’2 I am 5’7 I hope my hands grow more at least thick like his if not longer but I also gotta bulk seriously to get big, sorry for waffling about myself tho
Great video thanks. I have a question though. When closing a gripper with your left hand, is it better then to anchor the more bent side into the back of your left hand?
Hi, that is a good question! I usually flip the gripper round so that the flatter side of the spring is in the hand (like in a right hand set-up). Try both and see what you think. It would be interesting to have your opinion
The agony
Hey Jerome, can you close CoC No 3.5?
No. I used to be able to close the #3 quite regularly but my grip gets affected by my armwrestling these days. Perhaps that will be a target in future
Interesting bit of kit
Hey Jerome.. have a look how he is standing at the table.. try some different stances
Your wife will be happy😂

You near chesunt ?
Yes I am in Cheshunt! Are you local?
Heard of a strap?
Haha yes of course! I'm training for some big Grip Strength competitions at the moment so am trying to avoid straps in my armwrestling training because they ruin my grip!
👍
