  • I had even more technical difficulties trying to record this tier list again, but I managed to make technology bend to my will lol. With this tier list I cover every single hero in the game. Rating them based off of how impactful I think they are and how well they perform in their associated roles within the party.
    Time Stamps:

    3:59 - Balan

      Glad it helped! It's a tough choice, if you're really split then I'd just default to using Morgawse if you're going tyrant alignment and merlin if you're going rightful. Merlin is pure old faith so he won't get any rightful bonuses but he won't get any penalties either.

      @@maxxalos1267 Ahh and because Morgawse is tyrant old faith she'll scale off BOTH right? So she'll get towards max loyalty quicker?
      As opposed to Merlin who'll take longer to build loyalty on? Let me know if I'm getting this correct.
      Am playing Tyrant Old Faith right now. Shame, Thematically, wanted to try out Merlin.

      @@korvusfilms1 If you're playing tyrant old faith then yea, she'll get the max loyalty bonus super easily and pretty quickly. Merlin will get there eventually but will take longer. My recommendation was largely based on the assumption that you'd do more than one playthrough to see the other alignment playstyles. If you don't plan to do that it sounds like you're leaning toward Merlin so I'd just go with that.

    Great video and agree with most of the ranks. However I feel like it will be great if we can rank the heroes by “governance effect” too in addition to their battle abilities.
    For example, Sir Ector’s traits are quite OP and you always want to keep him in the team but not on the battleground. Sir Lanval’s should always be kept in training ground, and he’s traits will allow your team to has 3+ extra levels at mid game

    Hey Maxxalos,
    Two things -
    1) Thank you for another great video. I agree with 90% of what you said and even reconsidered my stance on one or two based on your reasoning.
    2) And this is a big ask - as someone whom seems to have mastered much of this game, would you be willing to make a video for the achievement "Team Arrowhead" using four marksman heroes. I would assume the best path would be Rightful and Old Faith as Bors and Geraint would be your 'tanks.' Bors using medium armor, Marking the Targets for extra damage and silencing, while Geraint would have his Ice Shield to negate some damage and be using his Lightning Shot to further damage and debuff. Which would ultimately leave Dindraine and Yvain as your primary damage dealers.
    This would hands-down be a challenge, as having four marksman and gearing them up in the one playthrough may not come easy, but I would love to see you tackle this if you'd be willing to do so.

    • @maxxalos1267
      @maxxalos1267  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maxxalos1267 I really appreciate it. It looks like an interesting achievement and it seems like it'd make a worthwhile video considering where the Marksman classes have been at and the careful actions you'd have to take to not get overwhelmed.
      Not to mention that only two of the four alignments (Rightful and Old Faith | Tyrant and Christian) are even capable of having a four Marksman composition so it comes down to the preference of Damas vs Geraint.

  • @dodang_9147
    @dodang_9147 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Lancelot is definitely S-tier in the game. While he's not primary dps in the game, he enables you to do damage combos that would otherwise be impossible with other characters and the real jist behind him that makes him so good is that he has the mobility of black knight while being a support. I would argue that he enables vanguard to be as strong as they are because one of the main weakness of vanguard is that they jump someone on turn 1 for example. they kill 1 unit and then their jump is on cooldown because its 2 turn cooldown, so your next turn, you have weak turn because jump is on cooldown. The fact that he's champion with mobility means that he can gank units and chain-assassinations. Lancelot is S-tier because he exaggerates mobility skills like Teleport, Jump and Dash skills which lead to more backstabs which translates into high dps but he does not have drawbacks of sages where their damage is lower end in the game. He has as high damage as top-damage dealers in the game while also being a support. As he gains kills, he reset his inspire which allow you to inspire again and loop your other character's skill-set.
    For example mortred has chain of lightning and lightning bolt. Chain of lightning is 5 turn cooldown spell and lightning 2 turn cooldown spell. With lancelot, you can make mortred use lightning twice as much and often cast chain of lightning more then once per combat.

    I thought you'd put Morgana into S-tier. :p
    I've played through the game as Old-Faith Tyrant, so from that side of the coin here are my thoughts:
    My main team comp is Mordred, Black Knight, Morgana & Morgawse. Sometimes I swap in Tristan, Faerie Knight and will try Isolde soon.
    My Black Knight is just too good now since I've found that teleport-on-kill relic, it's hilarious.
    I really like Tristan so I try to play with him now and then, even thou there's a Boudicea laying around.
    Too bad Red Knight and Sir Butcher le Noir are not that good, because their story missions were so fun.
    I ditched Dagonet.. he was very good, but it was so boring to play with him. Guinevere's style seemed boring as well.
    Morgawse and Morgana combo is really insane.
    Faerie Knight gameplay is really cool.
    ...I bet Merlin is a lot of fun as well.

    My experience and ranking would be much different than yours.
    I tried several of your S tier but I guess I just don't have the same knack. I found them lacking in basic survival abilities. In the beginning of the game they are all mostly the same anyway and it is only as you get a few levels under your belt that you start to get them being having more of an identity and that is where they started to fall apart for me.
    Sir Balan, the first one you ranked, I absolutely wreck with now. He held his own as he leveled and I came across rings that allow me to teleport in different playthroughs which solved any problems with getting in close with melee based characters. I tried Sir Lancelot but he consistently became a punching bag while doing less than Sir Balan. With Sir Balan I had not just cleave but whirlwind which, wow. Great AoE melee ability. I consistently am able to get in behind enemy lines to cleave and whirlwind killing several enemies in each encounter and then defensive stance afterwards if anything else happens to be nearby since the AI will just come after knights that are close. While Sir Lancelot by himself has assault that would get him in there quick, once he was there he was nearly dead after he kills something and it was just one thing he killed. This became worse for me as he leveled since the enemies just got better at wrecking him since he had no defensive skills. I would run in and pretty much have to use a Sage consistently to boost his armor and temp HP. I did not have to do that with Sir Balan thanks to Defensive Stance. It all got better for him as he leveled because of either a reduction in AP costs or gaining AP from kills from the skill choices I made to keep up with the AoE melee attacks. By the end of the game with some AP item boosts, I was able to go on a rampage nearly soloing an encounter with him. It was pretty nuts.
    With Marksman that was a tougher hill to climb in liking them. I kept Sir Bors because on playthroughs I did he kept improving the offerings on the market. But after I got Sir Geraint that changed in what I used. I dumped the other marksman because they didn't offer three skills I wanted to have in my back pocket, lightning arrow and storm of arrows which serve as AoE damage that became important later as enemies became more numerous, plus Ice shield which was great for if things went wrong. With Marksman the trick was just to dash behind things and shoot them in the back and I typically was able to get off 3-4 shots a turn.
    With Arcanists I used the Faerie Knight a lot. You'd think with my preference for AoE attacks in later levels I would use Morgana le Fay or Merlin but their attacks cost too much AP in the end and there was a more efficient tactic with a different party combination. However I did make use of his chain lightning skill from time to time. I had to dump Sir Ector on my favorite playthrough because all he offered on the enchanted tower was to give me a gold value equal to the half the value of relic dust I got in a mission. On other playthroughs he had got a bonus that was extra relic dust which made him worth keeping on those.
    With Sages hands down Lady Guinevere. Her teleport ability gets you in behind where you can backstab a lot or get out of trouble. And that with her support abilities made her more useful than the others who were riskier to bring into direct combat. Isolde was decent backup choice though.
    I absolutely could not take any Vanguards seriously. They had too many skills I did not adapt to well. I can understand one part of what makes them good. Being able to jump past things or sneak behind and stab things from behind is great. But for me it was too slow because it took time to get there and only killed one thing one at a time to do it. I was able to accomplish the same with a marksman without having to move. You have to really plan out your turns with Vanguards.
    When it came to defenders, taunt for me was absolutely useless. I never had to use it. The AI will either go after the weakest available enemy if they are close but other than that they were just going after the closest. If they didn't have a disengage ability to avoid an opportunity attack they wouldn't move from whomever was in melee range with them. That all but made taunt useless to me as an investment. So I just kept sticking with Mordred since he offered up hero plot progression too.
    In the end my main team consisted of Mordred, Balan, Guinevere and Geraint. Tactics wise I would shield bash my way into enemies who, now that he was the closest, the enemy would just target. I would move Balan close by so when the enemy would surround Mordred, Balan would then teleport behind a bunch and cleave them away. Then in the following turn when Balan would be surrounded by enemies, who was easily still standing thanks to defensive stance (my cooldowns were decreasing thanks to kills he was making), I would be able to cleave and whirlwind them away. All the while Geraint was either killing two enemy archers a turn or weakening others just enough so that the enemy would be within cleave or whirlwind damage range to die in one use of either ability. My combat encounters were not lasting very long with this combo.
    Occasionally I would sub in the Faerie Knight for Guinevere who would, like Guinevere, teleport in behind things for backstabbing enemy archers and spellcasters. He also offered by force blast to push things away from either himself or Geraint.

    God damn i love this game. After 220h im done old faith/tyrant. My last fav setup Mordred/Guinevere/Morgana/Boudica. And i think this combo is simply amazing. On 25 lvl game was too easy :( Boudica make 3000-4000 damage in 1 turn, Morgana one shot Fomorian +91 curse intensity it means hex make -69% Vit, Mordred immortal, and Guinevere which i think is core of this build, using 2-3 inspiration every turn and also make a lot of damage. Basicly i dont need campfires anymore. U can do better i think with 2x sage and 2x inspiration but for me its good enaugh, game is v.easy now. And u know what. Hello i think this tier list is fine. Im already past game on v.hard good/christian and now im playing v.hard + iron man tyrant+old faith. I think biggest mistake on tier list:
    1 Sir Kay - He has 7 free skills beacuse all active skill cost only 1 and just of that u can do a lot lot more than any other champions i can agree this guy i weaker in very late end game, beacuse u basicly have almost everything u rly need on other champions. But almost whole game easy act 1,2,3 he is best champion, a little hard to compare him to sir Lancelot.
    2 Mordred i think he is S tier ofkz if u you looking for typical defender Gallahad crushing him, but his debuffs making him not only tanky character, he can make a lot of damage from distance i think he perfecly fit in every group a lot of cc and debuffs, some damage and tanky options. Very good in almost every situation.
    3. Sir Tegyr, Sir Lucan, easy A tier i think.
    4. Black Knight He is not S tier for me. He is bad at start, he is better and better in late game i can agree with that, but -20% gold in every mission is just crazy. And only one skill can make him S tier ? I dont think so. But maybe it depends on our playstyle :)
    5 Sir Hector I think he is easy A tier, very very solid guy. No one will dismiss him ;) He can be B tier in battlefield but he is S+ tier in camelot ;)
    My fav comp in first run was: Mordered/Gallahad/Balan/Lucan - It was my first run so i make some mistakes and upgrade a bit Balan which isnt that good. If i can change it i will put there White Knight, but i never check guids and tier list when im playing i just like figure it out myself who is good, what is good etc.
    My second run. Mordred still :P / Lady Moguse / feari knight / lady Guinavre / Lady Boudica / Sir kay (with teleport) Im thinking about Morgana. We will see :)
    Most OP guy is Merlin he deserve S+ place in tier list. I dont like him but he absolutly top 1. On second place is lady Morguse. Third place is too hard ;) Sorry for my english.

    • @maxxalos1267
      @maxxalos1267  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      These are all fair placements. The fact that Sir Kay can get active skills for 1 point is the only thing that makes him still usable in my opinion. Early game I think you're better off with someone like Balan and then in the later game switching to someone else like Lancelot, White Knight or Black Knight. Mid game when he has kick though is pretty good.
      I actually put Mordred in the spot he's in for the reasons you listed. It's good, just not quite as good as the people above him.
      Tegyr could maybe go up just off the basis of having vanguard damage, but given how plain he is I don't think he actually has much to offer outside of that and a different alignment especially if you have Balin already.
      That's fair, I've just personally never had gold issues while still using Black Knight. For most players he probably won't be S tier in the beginning, that's true. Survivability is harder but I still stand by him having the best offensive potential out of all the champions.
      This tier list isn't including Camelot facility traits or Ector would definitely be higher. I have a separate tier list for that. This is just for combat.

  • @williammclyr3330
    @williammclyr3330 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think preparedness is okayish it is still more attacks for less ap and champions are off tanks with good survivability. I can see it being used when enemies must first get close and you don't want to waste ap to move Kay into position. Or maybe I have bias because I think that counterattacks are cool and irl two handed swords were used to fence and not to stupidly bash people with it.

    I'll start playing the game today or tomorrow and until then i'm looking at all your videos trying to learn more about the heroes.
    I know you will have a maximum of 12 heroes to play with and i'm trying to reduce them to a low number.
    I'm playing old faith tyrant from your recommendation seeing as i'll be playing the game only once and on very hard from the start.
    I'll be playing with all the S(high A) tier heroes you said, Black Knight, Morgana, i'll be picking Morgawse over Merlin.
    How should my last 12 look like ? 2-3 from each class ? Maybe just 1 Marksman(or 0)
    Arcanist: Merlin is gone, Faerie Knight from what I read is more of a hybrid Sage, so besides him I can pick Morgana and Dagonet. so let's say 3 heroes here.
    Champion: Kay sucks, Lanval si close to him, Black Knight is a must and that leaves only Brunorle and Balan. I don't know how the game actually plays, don't know if I need more from once class in order to swap them out etc. So let's say only 2 heroes here, maybe Brunorle since he's Tyrant.
    Defender: Mordred ofc and maybe Percival, even if he's christian you said he's S tier. I don't like what I read about Red Knight since he isn't specialized in anything. So 2 more here.
    Sages: All 3 i'm guessing, Morgawse, Guinevere and maybe Isolde too. 3 more
    Vanguard: Boundicea and maybe Tristan mid game but eventually i'm guessing I have no need from him late game.
    Marksmen just Bors MAYBE.
    What do you think, how do you recommend my endgame 12 look like ?

    • @maxxalos1267
      @maxxalos1267  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2-3 of each class is a safe bet so that way you'll have backups in case someone gets injured. Black Knight is a bit squishier due to lack of Defensive stance so you probably won't want to use him until you get into his tier 3 skills for your first run. Until then Brunor or Balan are great substitutes. If you want to hang onto a Marksman just to mess around with him in the endgame I'd reccomend Bors. All the Vanguards are basically the same so just use whoever you like. Using Morgana and Morgawse together is one of the strongest combos in the game imo.

      If you're relatively new or inexperienced I'd say just avoid Tyrant Christian. Any of the other three will probably be easier. RIghtful Christian may be easiest because it has the tankiest units and really good Defenders with taunt. You'll just be missing out on Arcanists who tend to have some of the best debuffs and crowd control. It can be just as effective but is less reactive to some oh shit moments.

Against brigands, Lost and Pict there should theoretically be enough targets as long as the encounter doesn't screw you by filling it with the one enemy type from their faction that is immune to knock down. It will be a bit grueling taking on minibosses though who will have a lot of health and pretty much always be immune to knock down. Once you reach the Sidhe though, it becomes a bit tougher. Once you reach Famorians though, none of them can be knocked over. Happy to help.

      @@MasterBLB mortred is not good as a tank and is not good at dps. you use him as debuff. that is why his best pairing are ranged spellcaster like Morgana la fay(Shock+Chill) or character that have high burst damage like vanguards/champions. his sigma is good for boosting their damage, setup that kill.
      If your going build a 3 defender comp, you can build 1 with Gawain+Galahad+Red knight+Tristan. The idea behind this comp is that Galahad, red knight and tristan all have fire/burning/bleed on their attacks and Sir gawain has freezing attack. this move by default has 2 turn cooldown with upgrades, but if you put ice ring that reduces ice skill cooldown by -1, then your gawain can use freezing strike every turn. The best alignment for this type comp is tyrant/christian. Both gawain and Tristan are neutral characters and that alignment has +1 loyalty for neutral characters. I did do a build for 3 defenders but just like marksman, defender rely on DoT to do damage and Lost counter DoT characters, hence they're not really great. Gawain is pretty much designed for this idea of putting 3 DoT on people and spamming freezing strike on front line while being meat shield.

      I'm putting a "?" at your opinions about Marksman. I'm at act 2 but they really don't seem that bad to me, I mean the dash makes them be able to get away from danger pretty easily, and they do semi good dmg, and the spread fire (with - 1 ap) is pretty good? :)

    Why do you put Tristan above the Vanguard Balin if you said he's the worst vanguard? Or did I misunderstand something

    • @Owlr4ider
      @Owlr4ider 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Worst in terms of damage but he's the only Vanguard to really bring utility with his poison, which is especially strong against bosses and to a lesser extent mini bosses. Also his life drain ability allows him to pseudo off tank which is typically unheard of for a Vanguard, so if you need it it's there. Though you can also skip his life drain and just hide at the end of every turn like a normal Vanguard.
      I'd actually rate him even higher because by the mid-late game, which is when you start using him realistically, Vanguards are already slightly worse than Champions against hordes of enemies but are better against fewer enemies and bosses where Champions can't stack a lot of rage. So in the situations where Vanguards truly shine he seems to shine brightest.

    Confused how you think mordred is b tier just position and you dont need taunt or guard

    • @maxxalos1267
      @maxxalos1267  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, you don't need guard or taunt. I've dont runs without it. Taunt and guard do admittedly make things easier. If something is strong enough to allow for you to make less optimized plays, it's worth noting. I could probably see him going into like low A tier, definitely will get different mileage out of him depending on your alignment.

    • @Owlr4ider
      @Owlr4ider 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You're missing the point. Of course you can 'just position' but than you're also limiting your team composition. If you want to run a melee focused team than your Sage(s) and Vanguards are going to be very squishy and still want to be in the thick of things, so in those cases you really can't 'just position' but actually do want the taunt and guard. Basically taunt and guard give you flexibility, not having them means you have to work around their absence which limits your other choices. Also depending on your team Mordred can be completely redundant. For example if you use Morgawse than she brings more than enough lightning damage and shock that you really don't need Mordred in there as well. The lightning arrow marksman also does this to a lesser extent, as do other heroes with shock.
      So without taunt and guard and with his debuffs possibly redundant, what is he actually bringing to the table? In fact I find Mordred to be more useful in Christian teams than Old Faith for this precise reason, but than Christians have access to the best defenders in the game so using Mordred over them is a questionable proposition too. Don't get me wrong, he still has his place, for example if you choose Merlin over Morgawse than Mordred is likely going to be your main shock provider and than you can do some interesting things like going with 3 ranged units and Mordred to make it much easier to 'just position' and also fully utilize his strengths while enabling the rest of his party. However this is far from the norm and if you use a balanced team there will be better choices than Mordred in the vast majority of cases.
