I think I speak for everybody when I say this, but please keep making informational videos where you talk and share your years worth of knowledge super interesting and easy to watch. Thanks bro.
I recommend that every fingerboarder goes and watches Ben Degros' youtube channel. He is a skater who talks a lot about setup differences like wheelbase, tail length, truck height etc and how it will effect your skating. It translates 100% over to fingerboarding as well!
I personally had dynamics on my G16 and making the switch to BRT was a game changer. I was debating if it was a useable deck for me with the dynamics but now it has new life and I'm enjoying it.
I just got my G16 prototype and it’s incredible. The shape is very forgiving and allows for all types of tricks. The quality and the pop are amazing too. Thank you Mike!
I recently bought a set of BRTs, never had ones before. Put them on a 32mm BR deck and struggled like hell to get used to it - I was missing my pops all the time and just couldn't really get used to it. In 2 days one of the kingpins got damaged and the locknut would just come off after like 5min of skating. Changed the baseplates to "china trucks" ones and put the BRT hanger on them -> that fixed the height issue immediately ! The setup now felt right, absolutely natural and comfortable. *allegedly, dynamic trucks are generally lower than BRTs and they are also 0.2 grams lighter then BRTs (single trucks with the baseplates). I guess I'll have to get one of those Dynamics too just to really see if it fits my setup better.
caramel trucks are also great! they're about to release a heavier version so you can mix and match parts from the lightweight version for your ideal weight. plus, they come in all sizes and you can ask for longer axles to fit dual bearing wheels!
I think that dynamics will technical get you to learn more tricks faster just because they tend to be more responsive and priciestent but I would stil choose blackriver for the style, realism, quility and over all feel
I have a lot of experience with both and its Dynamic Trucks for me. At the end of the day though its all personal preference and you got to factor in your own style and even what decks and wheels you use. I have had setups where the BRT's work way better. BRT's are also more durable imo, the threading of Dynamics seem to strip easily, the special editions are solid though. In saying that though I have broken a few pairs of BRT's as well.
Yeah anyone that can afford it which I was able to I would definitely set up two G16s with both trucks and G4 wheels! Well maybe smaller wheels with dynamics but Both are fun to switch in and out depending on your preference at the moment.
great video man. I love both also. one thing i’ve noticed about BRT’s though is that they are more weighty and seem more controlled with the flip and pops. Dynamic’s are a lot lighter and I have to flick tricks lighter to keep control but that’s just me and my hands 😂
For me, it definitely depends on how high the kicks are, on the deck. For higher kicks, I find BRT pops better. On low kicks, Dynamics feel more natural, and pop easier. Overall though, I prefer BRT due to how sturdy they feel.
you gotta pop off the air basically! its all in the timing, as you get the angle from "popping" you then flick your front finger which catches the nose enough to flip it
I’m looking to get a nice setup, and was just about settled on Y trucks cause the inverted king pin but seeing them not even be comparable to these really put me for a loop😂 I’ve always had a 34mm yellowwood finger board with modded tech deck trucks.. is it worth also trying a new board brand? I’ve always loved the YW one I have a planned to continue using it just with new trucks and wheels….
Got a set of dynamics on my G16 and I love them! Want to go to the new Blackriver shop in Chicago to get my first pair of Blackriver trucks. Have you tried Deli Decks trucks? They are super nice and feel pretty similar to my dynamics. Really digging them.
I really liked it overall, but one thing was missed. There is a very noticeable difference between the 2 in weight distribution. Which in a small way does effect performance with certain styles.
Mike has stated that he doesn't like y trucks as much because he doesn't think they improve the performance over basic trucks as much as dynamic and brts do. Personally, I think they have their place if you like a really light truck (but a lot of people don't like them specifically bc they're too light). Each to their own.
my first pro trucks were Ytrucks, i really liked them, they were really responsive but after trying BRT's & Dynamics, i don't bother trying Ytrucks again. they are really light indeed.
Dynamics have a bit more of an old school look in the hangar which is cool but I like the look of BRTs a bit better. I want to see pro 26mm trucks then we can deck out our old 26mm tech decks with nice trucks that won't deteriorate the wheel material like those old td trucks.
I think BRTs look the best. But at the same time they shouldn’t be that expensive. Imo, if you haven’t looked into blistered trucks I definitely would. They are very good and you can get them for a good price. On top of that he runs BOGO 50% sales often. I even got a BOGO free deal
I notice with brt I get hung up on the baseplate with nose slides/tail slides because they stick out passed my wheels. Whereas dynamics sit pretty flush
have you ever tried caramels? I love them, they are really light, almost the same wheelbase as brts, but they are also higher, my favorite setup is caramels and ff dual duros
Bro just forgot about Y-trucks. They were extremely popular in Russia in 2012-16. Many colors unlike Dynamics and the similar problem with the kingpin (a drop of glue solved everything)
I didnt forget about the other brands out there, I just wanted to highlight the two with the best performance and feeling. Personally the most important thing to me is how a fingerboard performs. How easy it is to use and how good the feeling is. I haven't found anything that compares to brr and dynamics in my experience yet.
i find that dynamics are more durable, and the inverted kingpin is very helpful. with brts sometimes the nut comes loose and then they fall apart… the kingpin is also lower on dynamics so it doesn’t get in the way of grinds as much.
@@philosophicalphingers yeah but of all of those they all have some large drawback vs these 2. caramels too light, obsius too heavy, and uags have interesting quality control to say the least. deli trucks might be worth but havent tried them yet. also y trucks use a t6 screw kingpin which is a terrible idea and i purposefully when out of my way to avoid those because i used to be into balisong flipping and t6 screws were notorious for stripping all the time
the wheelbase according to the deck, sure, is where the holes are, but my point is that the wheels are in a completely different location if you use one truck or the other and it makes a huge difference. the distance between the wheels is what counts as far as popping and performance goes, because its moving the fulcrum essentially
@@mikeschneider my tricks aren’t catching as they did with some Bollie dumps. I thought it was the deck at first until I put my br trucks on a new deck
Another question, for me it’s quite important. BlackRiver is really helping the fb community and I’m a big fan of that, is also Dynamic supporting the whole community?
I think I speak for everybody when I say this, but please keep making informational videos where you talk and share your years worth of knowledge super interesting and easy to watch. Thanks bro.

Dynamics on flatter decks & brts on heavy kick decks

Yo I skate and have been watching him for years. He knows so much about even the little intricacies of skate setups. Good shit Andrew
I got a G16 recently and got some Dynamics for a higher pop. I plan to grab some BRTs eventually to try them out and see how they compare

Great comparison video brother!
I'm surprised you didn't mention the weight difference. Blackriver always feel noticeably heavier to me
I prefer Blackriver personally after having tried both
Gotta agree with the homie in here your a wealth of knowledge bro more content like this please!

Excellent video my man. I learned a lot. I now have to get a set of brts simply to see which i like best

They are too heavy and mine broke in less than a minth
I rock both! g16 w/ brr g15 w/ dynamic
Can’t wait to try 29 Deli Trucks. He said they drop on halloween
Awsome video like always bro thanks great info to know
Very interesting I have a g16 with brts but am going to get another with dynamics now I love these videos always very educated🫶🏼

Curious on your thoughts on the differences between standard Dynamics vs the Special Edition and BRT 2.0 vs 3.0
Curious on your thoughts on the obsius obsidian trucks? Love the content👊🏻

Either one sounds like paradise. Skating garbage sucks. Time for me to get some. Great video, thanks!
Hi Mike Schneider amazing video I think I'm going with BRT trucks and I have a question how do I flip out of a boardslide?
you gotta pop off the air basically! its all in the timing, as you get the angle from "popping" you then flick your front finger which catches the nose enough to flip it

Hey Mike. I have g15 33.6 and using dynamics 34. I want to try BRT, should i get 32 BRT or 34 BRT?
34
Theyre both super quality. But i cannot ride the wheelbase of the BR. 😢
If blackrivers came pre-threaded like dynamics, I’d give the crown to BRT. However - Deli Trux are better than both.
Isn't wheelsize also a big thing on the steepness?
Schneider time , danke Atze 🍀
Blackrivers are Aces and Dynamics are Thunders
