Love this type of video. I’m a first year golfer and got fitted from the hand me down set I started the season with. HUGE improvements in all aspects but most importantly my confidence levels are so much higher with clubs that are tailored to my needs
I didn't get fitted until 8 months into taking lessons because I wanted the fundamentals down to produce a relatively repeatable swing. I did gain about about 15-20 yards per iron and at least 30 on the Driver. I feel like if you don't have a somewhat repeatable swing when fit, you might have to get refitted again if and when you eventually take lessons and your swing changes (for the better hopefully) lol
Exactly this! Idk why she's telling people who've just picked up the game to get fitted. It's just a waste of time and money until you have a decent swing.
@@noahbrown9708 that's what I'm saying.. if any other TH-camr done this...they would have paid for the clubs because they would have made double or more from TH-cam.

Also so typical of club champion to fit into fully custom shafts instead of stock offerings from manufacturers. Also if he knew the price of the grips vs getting the free tour velvet... he would probably prefer that too lol.
I paid $60 to get fitted with wedges at pga superstore, and he re-worked all my iron angles for free to do a proper gaping. I also bought $600 in new wedges though.
Good stuff Paige. I’m an advocate for club fitting as well. It’s nice to see the process for an average golfer rather than just seeing people get fit that swing 110 to 120 mph. Keep these coming!
Great video. Everyone should get fit if they can. It makes a huge difference. Josh did a great job maintaining custody of his eyes. I'm sure he'll enjoy the new clubs.
Great video Paige and very timely for me! I'm going to Club Champion next week for a fitting. Very excited! I had a fitting done 5 years ago but after watching Club Champions process I'm convinced the fitting I had missed a lot of key components.
I just saw that there's a new Club Champion around 2 hours away from me, up here in Canada (actually just a few blocks from where I grew up in Calgary). I will definitely have to pay them a visit next time I'm in town. Thanks for that demonstration!
I like it Page, Josh needed this fitting a lot and the outcome was really great. I saw some fittings on the internet and many people need more a head fitting than a club fitting...keep going
Always an advocate for club fitting. About to start the process for new irons for the upcoming season. currently playing Wilson Staff C300 forged irons, but looking for a bit more of a players iron now as my game as improved significantly since I was fit into these. Hopefully I can find something that I can play for the next 4-5 years
Pretty cool you took time to help a keen golfer out. Hope you threw in a pair of them cracking kicks you were wearing😊. I have t been fit in a few years so if your ever in Australia I’d be keen🤙🏽
Thank you Paige. I watch a lot of videos about fitting and later this year I am going for my first ever fitting. However, as a mid to high handicap player who can only get out once a week I've always wanted to get fitted instead of just buying second hand clubs.
This was great for me to see. I went to a PGA store & asked to be fitted for clubs & I was taken through a process of trying clubs but nothing like this. I bought a great set of Taylor Made Stealth's but I still find myself compensatig with certain clubs especially the driver! I wish I could go through this process with my current clubs (I never tried Mizunos, shame) to see if there is a better fit. Thanks for the education. I will visit the Club Champion store in Charlotte!
Great Video. Been playing for under 2 years and just started with Edge set. I am working to develop a consistent swing before buying a custom set. This video does a great job of setting expectations for this experience. Would have liked to see a little more detail about the final bill, doing this in stages. Can you do a fitting and not buy clubs etc.. Thank you
Thanks Paige for the content showing how a high handicapper can benefit from a fitting. I have never been fit because I wondered which "me" would show up for the fitting, the "hit a few good shots in a round" guy, or the "nothing goes right during a round" guy.
Loved the video, I'm playing with 15-20-year-old irons and a mish mash of hybrids some with steel shafts some with graphite. I will be 60 this year and never have had a fitting. I really need to do it and get what would probably be my last set of clubs before I retire. Love your video's keep the great work. I'm glad you had a chance to do a video with Bryson and clear the air, and yes, he's not a good caddy lol.
Awesome video! I have had this question forever whether I should spend money on a fitting or lessons as I shoot around 90. I am leaning towards a fitting but for that $$ there's no way! There are enough videos out there to figure my swing out, but unfortunately, I will have to make my swing fit my clubs: (. Maybe one day I'll pull the trigger and just get fit! Great video and very informative! Awesome seeing you help out a stranger! Keep up the good work!
I cut my handicap in half by changing from stiff shaft to regular flex and using all 14 clubs and adding 3 hybrids. I'm sold on fitting clubs to your swing now.
Paige you're doing the Lord's work, Josh really needs a modern set. I mean, northwesterns? I am currently going through a whole bag fitting in sessions and have to say, I'm really enjoying the process.
Paige, great insight on how getting fitted will suit someone's individual necessities in building the whole golf bag. You should do a WITB of 2024, if any changes are made since you last filmed with Ian on the Club Champion channel. Have a great golfing year in 2024!
Was a TM guy all my life. Went to a fitting and hit P790's the furthest but the Srixons felt way better and were more accurate. Ended up with a ZX5/ZX7 combo set and I couldn't be happier!
I'm your huckleberry if you're ever in Indiana and need a Hoosier to fit clubs to ;) Have a hodge-podge set of clubs from 2010ish-2022 (none of which were fit to me; mostly from early college days in 2010ish). Currently handicap around 20, and could definitely benefit from the confidence of knowing how each club is gapped and that they fit me correctly. Love the content! Looking to make this the year that I finally get fit/get a proper set of clubs :)
Nice video Paige I knew a guy many years ago who had a brand new Ping golf set.At the end of one of his rounds he left his bag, buggy and clubs outside the clubhouse as he wanted to have a drink. When he returned his golf set was stolen. He recently bought a racehorse but was struggling to find a name for it.He named it Dapingsaregone after his stolen golf clubs.
That actually happened to me as I was really excited to hit the Srixon new irons and after about 5 swings I just said I cannot hit these irons and ended up getting the JPX 923 HM and just love these with the lightweight shafts.
Not a big fan of Club Champion. I had a terrible experience with one of their locations in Winston Salem, NC. Not sure if it’s the site or the company but this location was only concerned about revenue and refused to cancel an order for grips that had not delivered and had no expected delivery dates. Wasn’t a custom set of irons, just plain grips and they refused to help me out.
In my pretty broad experience playing golf, golfers with the most 'ragtag' seemingly mixed up set of clubs that look like they were purchased at a garage sale, they were the hardest players to beat. Those where everything sparkled and matched, were generally high handicap players and easy pickings. Swingweight, length, lie, shaft flex and loft...don't dispair newbies, not that hard. Most production clubs can be adjusted to optimize your game. Happy New Year.
if i was scratch with any old bag of shit i would just go with it, but you cant blame us boggie golfers for trying to get our bag to give us the best help it can.
Northwestern's were on my wish-list when I was playing the Little Cougar brand. Passed on them when Ping Eye 2s hit the market, which I still play today. Loooooove winning $$ from my friends using 1986 technology :) Oh yeah, Burner Bubble and a T.M. Tour Spoon complete the set. I'm almost convinced that I should upgrade soon.
As a fellow lefty, club choices are tough, manufacturers don't make the same skews for lefties as they do righties, so getting fit is the best option for me, it just hasn't happen yet so I would be happy to get fit for an upcoming video. Definitely overdue regardless for new clubs.
Great video, and nice to see an obvious change. Also appreciated getting a ballpark estimate of the cost of doing this type of fitting/club selection. Given that I haven't had the time or money to even play in the last 10 years, this is not likely a process I would go through to get started again, but maybe one day before I'm gone. LOL! HAPPY NEW YEAR Paige!
I have upgraded my irons and Driver over the past 2 years so I am looking to move on to Fairway wood, wedges and putter. Wedges would be priority to help my gapping issues.
Getting back to golf after a long time off. Irons are about 12-15 years old and driver/fw woods over 20 years. Did recently get fit for 2 wedges and putter but really need to upgrade everything.
At 6'7" 250 lbs. custom fit / built clubs are not just an option but a necessity. There are a few in the Chicagoland area so I'll have to consider them next set. Question? Do they have a trade in program? I have Callaway top line gear right now
You can just pay for the fitting then go online and order the stuff the fit you for and save yourself $3000. Also fitting a guy with that swing into one of the hardest to hit drivers is crazy. I went to club champion and got fit. I had a horrible experience. The guys just were trying to sale sale sale. It was like going to a car lot. I really wanted a good experience instead I got fit by a used car salesman.
Paige, I really enjoyed the informational video about getting fitted for a full set of golf clubs. My regular golfing group which consists of 16-20 players, 2 to 3 times a week. We kid each other about the cost of golf equipment. We will say are we crazy to spent $500. on a Driver just to win a $2.00 bet? And, I think you know the answer. I personally don't have confidence, that even with all of today's technology, that spending $3,000. to $5000. on custom golf clubs would improve my golf score. You know if you have question about the IRS or Social Security and you talk with 5 different agents or clerks you get a different answer each time. I may be wrong but I don't see a clear and correct method to be custom fitted for golf clubs. From my experience, it is subjective to the fitter and the brand of golf clubs he pushes.
I need to get fit because I had a quadruple bypass a few years back and my swing is very different now. I never really got fit before, but used to play and score pretty well. Now I struggle to break 90 and have only once in the last two years broken 80. I need to be more consistent.
After playing for 30 years and buying many sets of clubs, most fitted, id suggest buying a standard basic set and then having many lessons. Good clubs will not create a repetitive swing. Fit better clubs when you get sub 15 handicap.
I appreciate the video. But the main difference in the distance is the less loft in the irons. The i525 are great but a 7i is 30.5 degrees. The clubs he had was probably closer to standard 35… that’s a whole club difference.
I hit a few drivers today with my PGA teacher and got a Mizuno, tried a few shafts out and a few different heads, including the Titleist I had with different shafts. Need to get irons, got rocket bladez tour that are nice but getting older, they do work tho great still and a good fit for me. Wedges are vokley sm6 sm7. Cameron putter So not a horrible bag overall but could be upgraded a bit, I shoot around the same as Josh in the video, sometimes a few more pars, getting better lol 90/85 best was 80
Thank you for the video Ms. Paige. I enjoyed the process and explanation for fitted clubs. I just back into golf 2023. I’ve had my iron set and putter for about 15 years now. I spent some $$$ in 2023 upgrading my driver and woods. I hit the 50 years young club as well, lol… there’s a Club Campion in Colorado Springs where I recently moved. My question, what is the longevity for fitted clubs? How long will my $$$$ fitted clubs last??? Thank you again for any advice or insight. It’s much appreciated! Blessings…
They should last forever, or until you decide you want a change! You can also take them back into Club Champion for a touch up if your swing happens to change a little.
Paige thank you so much for this video. I’ve been wondering what Club Champion fitting would be like. I have tried to get fitted for clubs 3 times at well known golf chain stores in the past. However they just didn’t work for me, although I really bet I should be fitted (I’m only 5’3”).
I need new clubs because I can't hit my driver. I've recovered from a torn rotator cuff and during that time lost more weight and got stronger and I don't think my current clubs fit me any more. ALso, love you Paige. bring back the PaR Podcast.
Not a fan of this company due to bad run-ins with them in the past, but I loved the video and the concept. The guy says the clubs they provide are “custom built”. Not true. They are custom fit/assembled from branded parts. They can only give you branded parts they are supplied with, which is another limit. True Custom made/built clubs are a whole different level of custom. In addition, I had my clubs custom assembled without the additional premium quoted in this video.
Paige your fittings are free. No bashing but everyone can’t afford it at those prices. Senior golf on fixed income. Love your videos. I have managed to learn a lot by working PT at my local golf store. Fitting is important.
I have a March 2nd appointment with Club Champion. I would prefer to be fit and to play with a pro. Like if Paige took Josh to play. Their insight helps so much. Not lessons sou much, but how to utilize clubs on the course. Strategy or what have you. Josh would clearly benefit from this as far as how to move around a course in work related golf outings and so on. I need a pro. My coach has never done this with me.
I also don’t care for the attitude of some of the comments. She is pretty but it doesn’t open the door for the awful things Ive read. Maybe I am sensitive as a dad of 25 year old twin daughter that are equally beautiful.
Can you go into a fitting with them knowing you have no intention of buying clubs? I’m 6’7” and currently are using Ping G Series that I picked up used and used the Ping color chart and their online fitting app to have the adjusted by Ping directly. I’m fine paying whatever the base fitting fee is but would feel like the person fitting me wouldn’t be to helpful knowing he wasn’t getting a commission off of me.
I would give them a call and ask about your specific situation! Generally, you aren't required to make an equipment purchase and would just pay a fitting fee, which is different depending on what you want to get fit for. I've heard from lots of people that they have never felt pressured to make a purchase.
Looks like an excellent service, I could do with this! I think however a beginner would be better off working on their swing first before launching into quite an expensive option.
I ceertainly need to go through the fitting process i had two very serious injuries so i have no idea if I’m even close to the right combos with my current set up. I haven’t played serious for 6+ years and my gamers are from the 2000s. Add in the broken limbs and missing thumb and I’m positive I need massive tweaks to my setup to shave strokes
At this stage I would rather invest a little less money on fitting and get a more forgiving set like the g425 ou 430. It would cost less and I would invest what's left of the budget in golf lessons. I believe that getting fitted would be much more worth it if your game has a little consistency, or at the least, your misses are kind of consistent, cuz then you know what's to fix. Another thing is that going from a 30years old mismatched set from a new set will surely get you extra yards. Clubs today are lofted a couple degrees stronger than his old clubs. He would still have gained 20 yards from a used sets of g420 just because of the loft difference. Anyway, interesting video still, hope he has great fun with his new clubs !
How do I know its time for new clubs? I broke 100 for the first time in October and wondering if my game warrants better clubs or do I get better now and hope my game catches up?
Informative video. When I've bought clubs at a Golf Galaxy, the fitting was only superficial. A more in depth fitting could have had different results.
I would really enjoy a follow-up video of Josh playing a round out on a course with his new clubs.
100% would love to see this.
yes please!

Cameron putter
So not a horrible bag overall but could be upgraded a bit, I shoot around the same as Josh in the video, sometimes a few more pars, getting better lol 90/85 best was 80
Very informative. Are there follow-up days after using a new set? Revisions?
@@PaigeSpiranac thank you again…
Paige thank you so much for this video. I’ve been wondering what Club Champion fitting would be like. I have tried to get fitted for clubs 3 times at well known golf chain stores in the past. However they just didn’t work for me, although I really bet I should be fitted (I’m only 5’3”).
North western is a brand from Kmart When they were open, 7 iron was the first club I had and that’s where I got it
Wow ... Josh hits from the right side of the ball (like me)!
I need new clubs because I can't hit my driver. I've recovered from a torn rotator cuff and during that time lost more weight and got stronger and I don't think my current clubs fit me any more. ALso, love you Paige. bring back the PaR Podcast.
You rock! What are your thoughts on Puring? Can you do a video to explain and maybe do a comparison?
Great Vid. I bet with a short coaching session before fitting could of helped. 😊
Paige your such a shiny star 💫 in the industry keep up the good work
I have a March 2nd appointment with Club Champion.
How lucky is Josh, advice from Paige and Club Champion.
Merry christmas paige 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have had numerous injuries from my job still enjoy the game but could definitely benefit to help have clubs adapt to my limitations
Excellent video. And excellent outfit ❤❤
Sooo, am I wrong for preferring this channel over an actual tournament? Golf has truly come a long long way, and it's a beautiful thing.
Hope you have a fantastic New Year celebration Paige.
You look amazing ❤❤❤
I ceertainly need to go through the fitting process i had two very serious injuries so i have no idea if I’m even close to the right combos with my current set up. I haven’t played serious for 6+ years and my gamers are from the 2000s. Add in the broken limbs and missing thumb and I’m positive I need massive tweaks to my setup to shave strokes
Hi Paige ever thought of using Pings as they come with custom fitting standard
20 yards because the lofts are more powerful on his new clubs 👍
U did an amazing job with all that knowledge it was perfect well done gorgeous ❤❤
Informative video. When I've bought clubs at a Golf Galaxy, the fitting was only superficial. A more in depth fitting could have had different results.
LEFT HANDERS RULE!!!!!!!! Go lefty
my dad had some north westerns as well lol. I feel like he bought that from Sports Authority. And he's a lefty too lol
