I've been using step up rings for my ND filter for years. Instead of buying an ND for each lens I just bought a really high end one and use setup up rings for all of my lenses. Also as someone who has 2 of the the Molus G60 lights I can confirm they are crazy bright and awesome in such a tiny form factor. I use one for my hair/edge light and one for backgrounds when they need a little bit extra light.
- swiss knife with solid blade, 2 or 3 types of screwdrivers or a pocket multitool. - blower and a big makeup brush or a photo one, never go out without those unless I take a single lens. - cables and usb battery, size depends on what I'm going out with.
Those step up rings can f*** you up man. I had a production and we couldn't get the filter off one of those metal ones. Get copper one's if you plan on having them or be super careful when using them. Copper is softer and metal filters won't get stuck as much as on metal.
Yeah I’ve travelled with the Smoke Ninja. Both in my hand and my check in. Obviously might get flagged sometimes though so don’t take my word for it, just my experience. Let’s hang soon mate
Hi James - you say get a smoke genie - but in your hand is the smoke ninja. They are different products - is the smoke ninja good enough for video - ie give enough output or is the more expensive genie better for longer output? Be great to hear your take.
So, I’ve got the smoke genie, and been using it for years. Recently got the updated version the smoke ninja (I just kept calling it a Genie ffs) and it’s much better in my opinion. Size, portability, build quality etc. go with the Ninja imo. The accessories are good too
8:30 I am using the Ulanzi L023, it is 50W and it has internal battery which lasts 50min at max output... :D. I also made a custom spot modifier for it on a 3D printer and it is my favorite tool from that year.
@@Jamesmatthews for me Molus lights are overrated. If you compare the engineering between ZY and Smallrig lights - I chose Smallrig every time :).Those Ulanzi lights - they are cheap but some of them a worth it.
@@SimeonKolev Ulanzis are cheap but they aren't reliable man. Failed me couple times on set....usually at the moments when you most need them to work 😂 Be careful what you pay for
@@circleclouddesigns so far mine works :) and I use it a lot. The build quality ... not the best but I was very impressed by the battery life. It was exactly as they say in the specs which is never the case with Zhiyun for example...

He's back! Love it mate, can you travel with the smoke ninja or you put it in your hold as it's got liquid in?

You can never have too many step-up rings! 😄
That light is crazy, usb-c power must be so handy. The little softbox is cute af haha
I know mate 😂 Use it pretty much every shoot
Was thinking of getting one of those smoke machines. You definitely sold me on it
They’re good mate. Not always needed but when you’re in a situation that they can benefit, they make a huge difference to the set
Higly doubt you fogged up that forest scene with the smoke Ninja ...
ok thank you
That spot was in Madeira, no wind at all, in a cove and I fogged it out with the Smoke Genie, not the Ninja :)
I need one of those lights 😮😮
