Incredible tip! This technique is an instant game-changer. Despite watching numerous top coaches, none have explained it as clearly as this. Thank you for sharing your expertise. Wishing you continued success! And with the precision of the Oliver-Sport paddle, I'm eager to put this tip into practice and elevate my game even further! 🏓
Awesome tip! The most instantly effective method to improve my drive. I watch many of the top coaches on this topic and haven’t seen anyone explain it like this. Thank you. I wish you much success!
u can visualize on the way back keeping ur forearm parallel with top of net, wont drop ur arm that way.. 6:08 in video..best video ive seen on this. great video will definitely help thanks
Last night and this afternoon it rained, so I decided this afternoon to rewatch a few Pickleball videos. I’m so glad I did because I have a Pickleball Clinic on Monday and I’m going to MAKE SURE I say and execute these moves in my session. I’m, too, excited!💃🏽 Thank You as ALWAYS!😃
Your tips are game changers for me: not only are you clear on your instructions but your explanation of why made sense and motivates me to change. Thank you
Geez Louise! I hope it works for me. How long did it take for you to do it? My first try will be tomorrow morning. Please please let this work for me. Lol
@@universalrackets Not very well. A work in progress. I suppose if it was easy peasy then everyone I play against would hit with topspin. A very very large percentage don’t. Oh well.
As a tennis player, I was plagued by hitting drives into the net, especially on my backhand side. I was used to the ball bouncing higher and faster. So my swing and stance was suited to tennis. However, when I started to play pickleball, I kept hitting on top of the ball because I didn’t account for a slower ball, a lower ball, and a ball that drops fast. When I bend my knees more and concentrate on getting the paddle lower than the ball BEFORE contact, then I hit the ball well.
What a find! You two are awesome ~visuals made me a good tennis player~your visuals I’ll use w the pball machine. You come across as real and having fun, instead of cut throat serious.
Once we release the grip pressure and the paddle drops do we now regrip with a stronger grip ( which grip 1-10) , with the paddle down or swing with the loose grip ?
You two are great! Thanks so much for the video! I plan on beating my husband with this advice tomorrow on the courts! I did not play tennis but he does and now I'm getting better thanks to my lessons on youtube! Keep them coming!!
I subscribed. Heard things now in two lessons I have never heard before (playing for 7 years) that make sense and I am excited to try. That said, I am a visual learner. Showing your forehand paddle back, drop and swing follow through is great. I would have liked to visualize your technique from the back hand side as well, from the same camera angle from behind. As a righty, it all makes sense. From the backhand side, I would like to see it executed properly. I feel like on my backhand, I get more consistency from having my paddle tip horizontal rather than dropping the tip down. I would like to see it in action, especially as I visualize some of your backhand returns from the far court with two hands, (which I cannot do) What is the "drop" on the backhand with a one handed swing?.
I have never heard this approach and it seems to make incredible sense. I have been hitting the ball into the net so often that I feel like Shamu the whale getting tangled up.
What a great coach. You're worth every dollar for your private lessons. (May I suggest trying to trim each YT video to 10 minutes or less, please. Our attention span, you know.)
I have that issue with backhands sometimes. I know the paddle face is too far up and I may not be following through with my elbow. Helpful video!! @@universalrackets
Interesting tip for keeping the ball going over the net. But, I would take a small issue with the sequence you describe in your video: back, bounce, drop and swing. And that is: if a return/shot to you is coming deep, very close to the baseline and all you've done is just take the paddle back, then the amount of time you have to execute the sequence: "drop, bounce and swing" has shrunk considerably. I might switch your sequence to "back, drop, bounce, and swing". Doing that, your paddle is already prepared in the proper position to just swing before the ball has bounced. I'd be interested in getting your thoughts on this. Thanks for posting this video as I'll look to carry the tips into my game. Cheers!
You’re welcome, awesome input. Always BOUNCE before DROP. I know @thepickleyogi said it wrong once or twice in the vid. customize the sequence to help your own individual game. Example: I like to emphasize following through and getting my body into the ball so I say personally “back, move to the ball, bounce, finish” as my drip come naturally Customize but always drop after bounce. Do not bounce after drop or won’t be fluid Tyler
I’ve seen dozens of this kind of top spin drive videos and this is the BEST by far. So simple and I can hardly wait to try it.
Thank you so much! I am glad that these help! More videos to come!
Absolutely a great video
Thanks!
Used this today, once you get it down it actually feels better.

Simply BRILLIANT!! It’s like everyone else on TH-cam wanted to keep this golden tip secret. Shame on them 🤪.

Glad to hear, let us know if it actually works on court!

Are you still in continental grip?
Paddle back, bounce, drop, swing. Hopefully I can remember that in about half an hour lol :)
How did it go? Hope this helped!

What brand of shoes is Michele wearing in this video?

Thank you so much.

an exciting clinic
Like to see the man do the demonstration.
Thanks for watching

Why not just start with the paddle down and ready to go from the start? Instead of bringing it up then dropping it after the bounce?
The Tennis forehand, how about that !!!
Back-bounce-drop-swing
Great tip for those of us who still wack it into the net.😊
lets go!
Are you only allowed to hit forehands in Pickleball???
Thanks for commenting on all of our videos. We appreciate the engagement. Backhands can be hit as well
how to keep the ball low when hitting the groundstroke? sometimes i got smashed back when i hitting groundstroke😭
Make sure you follow through and your paddle face is not open! You can think to point your elbow to your target at the end of your shot!

Is the Pickle Yogi’s forehand grip continental or eastern?

Weird you never use the universal word of Top Spin wow. Try saying drop, back swing during a game....does not work to well.
