1:26 I fell asleep immediately when he said "what is slice anyway?" I'm typing this an hour later after waking up
Thanks for watching
I got bored, too. The woman seemed bored. Weird
Awesome video! I'll be trying this tomorrow against a player who slices every time and gets me everytime! Can't wait to see his reaction after I return his crazy slice. Thanks so much for all of your videos!. You two are the best!!
Thank you, please let us know how it goes! You are welcome we appreciate your support Dianna
That's my goal for today as well. This one particular player hits every ball with an under slice spin. Nobody can return his hits. Using Tyler's tips, I'm determined to up my skills to at least get the score to 11 - 9. Baby steps!
@@AnnMitt Good luck to you! That's a great goal and I think these players are in for a surprise thanks to Tyler and Michelle!
Hi Michele and Tyler! This video was very helpful!!! I live in Lakewood Ranch Florida and the weather has been so bad I have yet to get on the court and try all of these great tips!! On the days I can play pickleball its either raining or it's to windy!! I cannot wait to get on the court and try all of these great tips!!! I love watching your videos! Thanks! :)
Hey! Thanks for the awesome comment , Linda yes, this Florida weather needs to get better!
Let us know how the tips go
Keep doing these - you’re a great team! I love the way you break down the instructions into basics that are pretty easy to remember when I try them later.
Will do! Thanks 🙏
@@universalracketsdạy rất dễ thực hiện, thanks
Great video. I also teach players to see the direction of the slice and move that direction to setup. This allows you to be in the correct position to hit the ball after the ball bounces a bit higher.
Thanks! Swing to the right ball goes left, swing to the left ball goes right!!!
Great video, Tyler explains like no one else, excellent
Thank you so much!
Great way to explain how to it slice
Thank you for the comment Michelle!
As always…these videos are perfection!
Love Michelle.
Her calling you out on your serves was classic.
Haha we need a line judge! Glad you like the videos
Can you make a video on how to return a slice on the backhand side? Is it better to slice it back or two hand backhand? Sometimes the slice is so low it’s hard to two hand back hand to get top spin so is it better to slice?
Thanks for this video! I've been looking how to counter side spinning balls. Since I didn't come from a tennis background, I've always had trouble with all types of slice.
You're welcome! I'm glad this video can help you out.
Ready to try this today❤
Let us know how it goes!
Easier and more clear explanation: If your opponent hits a slice with their forehand, it will spin to your left. If they hit a slice with their backhand it will spin to your right.
Thanks for watching!
Even if your opponent is left handed? (no)
thank you. great video. I liked the example of what not to do and what to do
Appreciate the comment! Thank you!
I tried this and it didnt work. I must be doing something wrong. Now I let the ball bounce and adjust, in advance, to where the ball is going.
@@steveolivares8746 what didn’t work specifically ?
you want to let the ball bounce and prepare an advance….
@ look, I have no doubt that I’m doing something wrong lol. I took your advice and tried to hit the ball right after the bounce like you showed in the video. The ball would either hit the net or bounce wonky off my paddle. At this time I anticipate where the ball is going based on the spin and how they hit it, move to where I think it’s going, and then hit the ball. That’s what I have to do in order to hit the ball back
Do you return slice serve with same stroke as opponent uses?
Sometimes a slice battle is great!
Love your videos! Excellent explanations.
Thank you so much!
I find much more success allowing the ball to bounce, up, and as it's coming down again, that's when I want to hit it after it's lost a whole lot of power and spin. Since I can anticipate which way the ball is going to spin to the side, I'll wait for the ball where it's going to be, not where it bounces.
lets go!
Really helpful, thanx
No problem!
this answered my questions about spin return!
Amazing! Thank you for the comment!
it worked for me. after a couple returns the player stopped slicing me. thanks
You are welcome! Thanks for letting us know
How do you know if a ball coming to you is a sliced ball and not a hard hit straight ball
@@carlbistany457 by watching the ball or looking at opponents swing
I always played the return of spin shots by letting the ball bounce and wait for the spin to happen. Then hit after the spin happens, anticipating the spin direction. In other words bounce, spin, then react to the spin, knowing how it is going to bounce. I will try hitting BEFORE the spin. Thx.
Amazing! let us know how it goes!
Great synergy, good tips!
Appreciate it!
How about hitting a drop after they slice it. I struggle with this so bad , a drive is pretty simple , but I see pros hit drops effortlessly on slices when they want to. What’s their technique on those
I did the opposite way. I am waiting for the ball to bounce and spin and then hit the ball after it changes direction. I thought I hit later so that the spin is weaker so that I could control the ball easily.
Thank you for sharing this and I can correct my skills.
Keep practicing! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video but this girl needs a bigger skirt
Tell that to her sponsor!
You could have done the same drill to her backhand where the ball will spin away from her if she doesn’t hit it early. Or you could have shown the backhand slice where the sidespin goes the opposite direction.
More content to come!
We get low because of underspin. For sidespin, approach the ball with the knowledge of which the ball will move sideway. We either get closer when we know that the bounce ball will move away. We will not get too close knowing that it will move close to our body as it bounces. The direction of vounce is opposite to the opponent's swing path.
watch the video!
Awesome video !
Thanks!
This video was fantastic 👏 🙌! Well done 🩷. I will use your tips tomorrow during general open play!
Awesome! Let us know how it goes
Hey Michelle you are fiiiinnee. Translation beautiful 😊
Still looks like she’s hitting it near top of bounce vs hitting it lower. What am I missing?
Why pros use this slice rarely and prefer top spin? Is it because it hard to consistently hit it deep?
Spin does not have the same effect as in tennis, in tennis the ball can spin much more and really change points, in pickle ball there is not as much room and the ball doesn't move as much!
Um, a slice shot is specifically backspin. You’re referring to side spin. Slice can also have side spin to them but it’s backspin lol.
Video applies for both! Thanks for watching
Slice is a combination of underspin and sidespin.
@@raypsalazar no, a pure backspin shot would be a slice. A pure side spin shot would be called side spin, a combination of both would be slice. If the shot had backspin it’s a slice.
And to practice getting low, practice deep squatting. Do deep body-only squats every day, and you will see yourself playing much better against low balls. Great video.
Thanks so much! Yes getting low is key
not a good technique returning a slice shot. I would wait until the ball cures to the side I predict it would to return it. I get more time to make a stable shot by doing that
That’s not correct thanks for watching
Don't forget to let it bounce if it's a return
Yes !!
snooooooze
Thanks for the comment!
The logic is poor here. The server hits the spin away from your forehand and to your backhand. your demo has her returning all of these with her forehand. On these fast moving serves almost impossible to get to the forehand side.
@@garymellott8078 thanks for watching :)
Wrong. You go to the ball and you will get into trouble regardless. Better observe your opponent and adjust your body position instead.
@@jeshuakongsinwon9108 thanks for watching!
For the doubles players, poach slices.
Yessss!
Get low. Yep!
Yes! Thank you for the comment!
That was helpful, but... the woman seemed to be bored or frustrated at times. That happens, I get it, but it's not fun to watch in a video you're going to post. Just sayin'...
@@karenk5472 thanks Karen!
This was so boring
Thanks for the comment!
@@universalrackets i still watched it and found the info useful. But you gotta do something about making the script interesting
It is PB not a dancing or singing video. Lol!
