Agree with all your list. I’d also love the AF S,C,M to be push to cycle rather than push to use another dial (want I actually want is the old switch but that can’t be done with firmware, lol)
I put the focus mode change on the "Up Button", so i can instantly change it after pressing the button. But like i already wrote, it's not possible while recording :(
I want the camera to record the gyro data on the video. It would be amazing for drone work and even when you want to stabilize in post anyway. Sony a7sIII has this option, I'd like to have access to it also.
Hey Aaron, I have the xh2s for 5 days now. Since yesterday I also have the Lu6 Monitor - and figured out - that I don´t get any signal from the hdmi, when I shoot in open Gate 6K. But then I activated "Output HUD with HDMI" - and there you go. You get a signal even in Open Gate. But there is still a problem then: You get all the internal overlays, like focus peaking etc. send to the LUT6....So you would have to deactivate this then in camera. Would be nice if we see a firmware update to set the hdmi output... but this is a workaround when shooting Open Gate! PS: Love your videos! Keep up the work!
Thank you Aaron for your efforts to make the X-H2s even better! I have also written Fuji because of the ISO behavior (you don't even see your exporure meter while changing ISO) and additionally because of the lag, not to be able to change the focus mode while recording, like it was possible on the X-T3. I miss this feature very much!
Great points! I'm making comments wherever I can on Fuji's social media pages about changing the ISO to the back dial again without having to press the new ISO button AND what you said about being able to see the exposure meter while adjusting the ISO.
Global Settings or some reworking with how it works right now is the biggest for me on your list. Another big one for me is to make the ISO button hold/dial rather than toggle/dial
Actually Aperture on lens is mostly for stills, the option to change aperture on dials is more for videos as it will be less shaky on the video that way, however all options should be available for dials. I want 240fps improvement, pixel shift too.
X-H2S for sure!!! we use the FX3s at work on our end and you can get some great images out of them, but you’ve got to go the extra mile to get that extra bit out of it! Whereas the x-h2s is a clinical hybrid cam and the photos you’ll be able to get straight out of cam as well as footage is crazy 🏆
I am right there with you on the timecode! I'm putting out a video in a few days that talks about how I am using Tentacle Sync timecode with my cameras. It works perfectly, but it is a bit of a pain having that awful timecode signal on your original footage. To say that I am giddy that the FX30 will have full timecode support and is being sold for less than $2k is an understatement. I'm second in line on the preorder list at my local camera shop so I should have it by the end of the month. Can't wait!! The first company to offer built-in timecode and 32-bit recording capabilities IN CAMERA wins.
if you was going to change into slowmo, wouldn't you be changing your shutter speed anyhow? then you would change aperture or ND to correctly expose. I have 1 custom setting for slow-mo, preset with shutter speed to be double the frame rate White balance needs a better solution. Ild prefer if this wasnt a custom setting at all. I generally have some ND attached, with a slight pro-mist, so the sharpness isnt such an issue, I have also reduced sharpness in Camera.
Yeah, shutter angle would help with this, but I doubt we get that in this camera. I’d much rather change my SS only than every other setting. It’s the one constant in most cases so it’s easy to know exactly what that should be. But you can also lock your SS IIRC. My ideal update would be that you get to choose which setting a are global and which are set to the custom settings
Hopefully it gets a lot of Kaizen updates. I hate that I can’t map iso to the command dials directly like on all other Fujis. Makes absolutely no sense. I’d also love to be able to have IBIS and OIS independent from each other, sometimes having both on messes things up.
Aaron, I'm almost a newer owner of a H2S, but... Before that I buy, i want to know if this camera is capable to record with the slot cf/sd opened, for use of CFexpress to SSD adapters
It should be an easy fix, but you really should be shooting at base ISO and adjusting exposure with aperture and shutter, in the case of video, aperture and ND filters or lighting. ISO is just adding gain - Noise.
@@MrBeninspain absolutely always aiming to shoot at base iso, however, there are times when bringing the iso up is necessary. So to have a dial that is useless cause it’s mapped to aperture gets annoying.
@@eric.valleyoftheheroic a very quick tap of the button on top, then either dial also works, you are only one button press away from what you want. I also tried mapping ISO to the down and up buttons, this works well, its very fast. Anyhow, I am sure they will fix this in V1.02 if i was really fussy, I want to remove shutter speed from the dial completely.
@@MrBeninspain You press a button, scroll through a giant iso list and press a button again to select. Looking forward to an update.
Focus tracking would be great - I'm not sure how much they can do about the 240fps or lower base in flog2. They need that higher ISO to squeeze as much DR out as they can. It would be nice though if it could be more like 800!
@@shridexdigi1982 I gotchu. I’ll work on a video. It is frustrating with Fuji though. Basically have to embed it into the audio track and convert it in your NLE

@@itsaaronmiller I’ve figured it out! Thanks to Reggie Ballesteros. Go to movie setting > movie optimized control > turn it off and bam it aperture ring works
