@18:00 The player that excessively celebrated was on the loosing team. They scored a touchdown and had a chance to tie the game by getting the extra point (which kickers make 90+% of the time because they are so close) but because he got the penalty it moved the kick back 15 yards, making it a much harder kick to make. The kicker missed and they lost by a point.

Moore's score pulled his team within one, but his taunt pushed the extra point back, and the extra distance contributed to the miss, so yes, he was on the losing side.
Muffing a punt is when a punt returner tries to catch a punt but drops it, making it a live ball that can be recovered by the kicking team. It can be a huge momentum shift if a team has to punt it from say their own 30 but get the ball back on their opponent's 30 due to one mistake by the return team. Also to note: if no one on the punt return team touches the ball, it's marked down at either A) where the ball comes to a complete stop, B) where a player of the punting team grabs it (usually to prevent the ball from bouncing in a way that helps their opponent), C) where the ball goes out of bounds, either on the ground or in the air (the estimated spot where the ball crossed the out-of-bounds line rather than where it hits out-of-bounds), or D) when it touches in the end zone or goes out of bounds anywhere beyond the goal line making a touchback, giving the team coming out on offense the ball at the 20. That's different than kickoffs where the ball is live after it has gone ten yards, hence the reason teams try an onside kick when they are losing a close game late or sometimes to cheekily surprise their opponent in an attempt to effectively keep possession of the ball and have another drive on offense without having to stop their opponent's offense.
muffed punt is when the receiver of the punt fails to catch it and touches it which makes it live for the defense, who recovers it in most cases the muffed punt is referenced.

One of the biggest difference between college football and nfl football is that in college players can be down without being touched. If a player were running and trips and falls that’s considered “self tacklization.” In the nfl unless someone touches you, if the ball carrier falls they can get back up and keep going.
In the NFL someone has to touch you while you are down for it to be a tackle. In college, you are down when your knee hits the ground ... even if no defender is near you!
The problem with the "half-ass" punt wasn't that it was a soft kick, it was his aim. A pooch kick is done when the team is a little too far out to try for a field goal or just go for it (because it'll leave the other team with too good of field position), but they're too close to kick a normal punt. So he's trying to just place his kick close to the end zone (usually a corner to pin the runner in), because if he kicks it into the end zone, it's gonna come back to the 25 (or 20 if it's old game footage). I hope you all can go to a live game when they start having spectators again.
6:00 just FYI, in the NFL, he wouldn't have been down. In the NFL, the defender needs to make contact with you while you're down to count as down. For example, if you trip on your own and no one is around, you can get up and play on.
The LSU vs Florida game this year ended similarly to the last game but even more exciting. The Ole Miss player was penalised because football games are supposed to be family-friendly.
The Miami Hurricanes back in the 80s were the bad boys of College Football. Things got so ridiculous that the NCAA started cracking down on excessive celebrations. The "what not to do" video looked like a Miami Hurricanes highlight film. I think it was the 1991 Cotton Bowl game where they got 16 penalties for 202 yards while demolishing Texas that really brought it down. It was a major televised event watched by millions and they basically tore the place apart from the opening kickoff.
In college football, if you lose a piece of equipment, you have to come out for a play. And Dobbins was destroying *ichigan D that day. So they did that on purpose to give themselves a little breather. :)
The guy who did the dog piss celebration lost the game....they were down 14-21 and remember a touchdown is only worth 6 pts with thd extra point being 1 his kicker was the one who missed the extra point and they lost the game
Awesome to see not one but two Ohio Bobcats clips in here. While not good for a reaction, you guys would enjoy some MACtion. Teams like OHIO, Akron, and Northern Illinois play a more option-orientated game with lots of pitches, laterals, and fakes. It is like watching the Army/Navy game all the time.
Most likely they untied his shoes because a) they wanted to force him to get off the field or b)they wanted to slow up the offense so that the defense would have time to make substitutions.
The 13:20 SMU TD thing was actually not supposed to be a touchdown and the conference later said that it should have been a touch back. If no receiving team player touches the ball and it crosses the goal line it should not have been recovered by the kicking team. Ref mistake. SMU still won that one.
The person who was penalized for excessive celebration was on the losing team. He scored a touchdown, therefore, his team got an extra point attempt. The penalty pushed the spot of the kick back 15 yards further from the goal post than it would have been, making the kick more difficult.
A muffed punt occurs when there is an "uncontrolled touch" of the football by a player on the returning team after it is punted. This can occur when: The kicking team interferes with the other team's right to catch the punt A player on the kicking team is struck unaware by the football running down-field to cover the punt. A player attempts to return the ball, makes contact with it but cannot retain the ball in his hands and it comes loose
7:01 they took off his shoe so he now has to come out for a play or rush to get it back on. It should have been a 15-yard Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty.
Ok I used to watch the Fail Compilations on here, however I've discovered some videos called What I found on Reddit. Highly recommend you react to them. I literally laugh out loud through the whole thing.
The punt w the knee down is because its college. U dont need to be touched by the defense in NCAA. Once u fall down even if tripping on your own feet u are down. In NFL a defender must touch the player while their knee is down or tackle them.

Fun fact: These college coaches make millions of dollars a year + built in bonuses for playoff games or bowl games. Also, they may make commercials for tv which pays them more money.
Guys no no no. The guy who committed the excessive celebration was on the losing side. When you score a touchdown (6 points) you have the option of going for 1 extra point kick, or 2 points by run or pass. When the player in white scored a touchdown and made the excessive celebration, his touchdown brought his team to 20 points, with the opponents having 21. They needed an extra point to tie the game and go into overtime. An extra point kick in college football is kicked from the 3-yard line. Due to the excessive celebration violation, they had to kick it from farther back. The kicker missed it and they lost the game.
It wasn`t excessive celebration. It was Un sportsman flag, for the guy "pissing" in the end zone. The best was the blocked FG and the guy caught it , ran forward the turned around to lateral to who? So it`s ruled a fumble. The team recovers then kicks the game winner!
From playing football your mind rewires so you really don't see the referee's, it's like your nose it's always in your vision but your brain doesn't register it anymore, same thing with refs they are part of the playing field but not the other team which is who your trained to concentrate on so you really don't see them out there when you're playing. So that first play the guy probably didn't notice him until the last second.
The team that celebrated lost. They scored which brought the score to 20-21 and they needed the extra point to tie, but the 15 yards pushed the kick back which made it harder to hit. And the kicker missed it. So the celebration cost them the game. The dude on the left was right
About the excessive celebration penalty... In the 1980's, the University of Miami was a huge upstart team, doing better than the more pedigreed colleges, winning national championships, and the players were recruited from poorer black areas, particularly in South Florida. They weren't supposed to be there, competing at that level. The players would celebrate in increasingly exaggerated ways, and the fans, coaches and players of other teams HATED Miami for it. The very conservative rules committee of the NCAA was swift to institute rules against excessive celebration during the University of Miami's heyday. You got a sense that they were trying to put U of M 'in their place'. There is also an element of racism that enters into it, especially having read some of the sports writers of the time. Stuff like, when University of Miami was matched up against Texas in a yearly game called "The Cotton Bowl" a headline written about it was "Miami Picks Cotton", or labelling the game against the catholic Notre Dame University "Catholics vs. Convicts". There is actually a pretty decent and entertaining documentary made about this era of Miami football called The U (which is a nickname for University of Miami). There may be a highlights video of it on TH-cam that could be worth a reaction, too.
@18:00 The player that excessively celebrated was on the loosing team. --As others have said, in the last clip, the celebration in question was seemingly meant to taunt the Mississippi State team (whose mascot is the bulldog, and the two schools have a longstanding and intense rivalry).
@8:24 That was one of those 100-yard punts--50 yards up and 50 yards down!
"Muffing the punt" means the punt returning drops or fumbles a punt while attempting to catch it.
Could've been Hells Bells by ACDC. Has a very similar tolling bell in the beginning.
Wait, Mississippi versus Mississippi State, and the Office Bloke says "some crackers in there." Hilarious.
Cracker means someone who brags it is a British term.
A lot of these you’d have to know football really good to get whats going on
The bell at 15:15 is from Hells Bells by ACDC, not FWTBT. The one in FWTBT is much higher pitched
muffed punt is when the receiver of the punt fails to catch it and touches it which makes it live for the defense, who recovers it in most cases the muffed punt is referenced.
Just wanted to say that this is a superb choice of topic! Keep up college football please!
For reference, muffing the punt is a legit term, referring to touching the ball before being in possession of it
Even better: someone submitted a picture of the dog pissing as a suggestion for the new Mississippi state flag.
15:10 the bell at that Kansas game is the campanile - a huge WW1* memorial tower on a hill over the stadium. It has a carillon inside of it that they'll play after TDs.
Really cool part of campus. My brother proposed to his wife outside of it. th-cam.com/video/wI_hVV7dP7Y/w-d-xo.html

@@mpw301 correct good catch thank you
How does the LA Tech 3rd & 97 not make this video! The fumble for an 83 yard loss is iconic!
Please react to, (Really Interesting Maps You Need To See) from General Knowledge. I think you will like this one and it will show a breakdown of the ancestry groups in the U.S. Thanks
Ah, yes. The piss and miss lol. I laughed so hard watching that live
Also known as the Piss, Miss, and Dismiss. Both coaches were fired after that game.
No one likes Bama unless you live there......LOL! You guys are great!
Since you mentioned the MOB. You should react to a video on the The Five Families of New York
Y’all should check out worst weather games. Football in rain and snow is pure gold.
Loved that mafia line lol If you ever want to see your kids again you'll drop the ball short of the endzone
Roll tide still enjoying everything guys keep up the great content
WDE!!! I hope you win out until the IB!!!
I've been watching some of y'alls older videos & enjoying them.
Dave, did you ever Google- muffing the punt?
Keep up the great work, guys. Thanks! 🙂
That throw by the razorbacks physically hurt me as a razorback fan
War Eagle ;)
Morris era, what an ass clown and I am a Mizzou fan.
A buckeye is a type of inedible nut, like a large acorn, that looks like the eye of a deer. People from Ohio call it a useless nut.
I don't think "inedible" is quite accurate as Native Americans used to eat them.
Unless just like ohio state football.
Buckeyes do exist in the UK i believe. Must be called something else?
You can eat Buckeyes if they are cooked and de-shelled. Alot of work for not a great taste
@@Alderak1 The British Conker (Horse Chestnut) is similar to the Buckeye, but not quite the same.
18:30. The guy who did the dog piss pose's team lost. In part because the extra point was pushed back 15 yards due to his penalty.
The GREATEST funny college play was at the end the 1982 CAL vs STANFORD game ...it is so classic that us is called "THE PLAY"
The LSU vs Florida game this year ended similarly to the last game but even more exciting. The Ole Miss player was penalised because football games are supposed to be family-friendly.
when they say 'the pitch' it makes me happy
The Miami Hurricanes back in the 80s were the bad boys of College Football. Things got so ridiculous that the NCAA started cracking down on excessive celebrations. The "what not to do" video looked like a Miami Hurricanes highlight film. I think it was the 1991 Cotton Bowl game where they got 16 penalties for 202 yards while demolishing Texas that really brought it down. It was a major televised event watched by millions and they basically tore the place apart from the opening kickoff.
Bruhhh the kicker😂😂😂
Rookie move lol
in the clip with the missed kick after the 12 men on the field penalty, all 12 people were lined up for the play.
You guys should react to NFL trick plays
In college football, if you lose a piece of equipment, you have to come out for a play. And Dobbins was destroying *ichigan D that day. So they did that on purpose to give themselves a little breather. :)
Alabama Slammer... nice.)
Nice "shout-out".)))
When they untied the guys shoe, that was unsportsmanlike conduct.
The 13:20 SMU TD thing was actually not supposed to be a touchdown and the conference later said that it should have been a touch back. If no receiving team player touches the ball and it crosses the goal line it should not have been recovered by the kicking team. Ref mistake. SMU still won that one.
Bell in the Kansas game, I'm pretty sure was the start of Hells Bells by AC/DC.
"MUFF" the punt means to "MISHANDLE" the ball.
The last one u played is a in state rivalry game called the Egg bowl between the university of Mississippi and Mississippi state
I love you guys reacting to college sports
The person who was penalized for excessive celebration was on the losing team. He scored a touchdown, therefore, his team got an extra point attempt. The penalty pushed the spot of the kick back 15 yards further from the goal post than it would have been, making the kick more difficult.
A muffed punt occurs when there is an "uncontrolled touch" of the football by a player on the returning team after it is punted. This can occur when:
The kicking team interferes with the other team's right to catch the punt
A player on the kicking team is struck unaware by the football running down-field to cover the punt.
You guys probably don't know about it, but... the 2013 Georgia Southern @ Florida game. Two Florida players blocked EACH OTHER.
Should check out best football catches! Will be blown away by some of the catches you see.
It wasn't excessive celebration but an unsportsman like conduct penalty on the last clip. There is a difference between the two types of penalties.
React to Zaire vs Wade 1v1 INTENSE - father vs son. True spirit of basketball and I think videos like that (pick up games and workout sessions) would encourage you guys to appreciate basketball just as much as football
Fun fact: These college coaches make millions of dollars a year + built in bonuses for playoff games or bowl games. Also, they may make commercials for tv which pays them more money.
Ah the Ole "piss and miss" hahaha
It sounded like the bell from Iron Maidens 'Hallowed be thy name"
In college a player is "down" when the knee touches down--in pro they player must be touched by the opposition with knee down.
I thought this was going to be about the National Championship game just played between Bama and the Buckeyes. 😂😂😂
OMG I’ve never seen this. It was great. Oh and yes they have a time clock...😂😂😂
Excessive Celebration can lead to fights so they crackdown on it - like taunting.
It wasn`t excessive celebration. It was Un sportsman flag, for the guy "pissing" in the end zone. The best was the blocked
FG and the guy caught it , ran forward the turned around to lateral to who? So it`s ruled a fumble. The team recovers then
kicks the game winner!
Sometimes its like watching cartoons with a big guy going down, like roadrunner and wile e. Coyote
That was actually the bell from the start of AC/DC's..HELLS BELLS
As someone who is from Arkansas I was just waiting for an Arkansas fail
From playing football your mind rewires so you really don't see the referee's, it's like your nose it's always in your vision but your brain doesn't register it anymore, same thing with refs they are part of the playing field but not the other team which is who your trained to concentrate on so you really don't see them out there when you're playing. So that first play the guy probably didn't notice him until the last second.
REACT TO “HISTORY OF THE ENTIRE WORLD, I Guess”....YOU WONT REGRET IT
*i guess
A buckeye is a type of tree I believe
The Ohio Buckeye is the tree and 'buckeyes' are the nuts that grow on the tree.
The guy who got the excessive celebration penalty essentially lost the game for his team. Probably was a bad Monday back on campus.
OSU vs M, if the shoe or helmet comes off, they have to go to the sideline for a play.
Roll Tide
Loving the videos
10:30 that was a trend a while back. I think it was supposed to be some form of showboating. It was beyond infuriating as a fan.
