I have to agree with "novachevyguy" that this is not a conversion. Going by "87lancerguy"s definition of convert being "Cause to change in form, character or function" this video is mislabeled. The scooter has been converted, yes. However, the video says the 50cc [engine] was converted to a 150cc [engine], and going by the definition, that means that they "changed the character" of the 50cc engine in order to give it more power where it could act as a 150cc engine. While this mislabeling is slightly remedied in the "About" section, overall it is misleading and seems as if they "powerup" a 50 cc engine so to speak, when in reality they merely switched it out. Doesn't mean switching it wasn't hard, but it should have a different title. Still looks like a boss scooter though.
John Smith it's all the same but 150cc has bigger carb and u really have to pay attention to what u buy for it because if u try to interchange 50cc parts with a 150cc say goodbye to ur engine because nothing will work right
How tf do you put a 150 motor on the 50 frame without welding......? 50s mounts are on the bottom of the motor as opposed to the 100-150 which are mounted above the block......
+little ALFIE TRUBBSHAW it depends on the wiring harness and the cdi. The most important thing is to look at the connectors. The gy6 150 has 6 wires that connects to the harness. To get all the lights, starter, battery to charge etc those wires should be all hooked up. I dont know if itll hook up. But either way, it would be really complicated project. Whats your opinion?
just saying but all you gone an done is put a car alloy as the rear wheel its to flat to be a motorcycle tyre and if your going round a corner fast enough you wana be laening and you cant do that if you have a flat tyre
idk if you live in the US or not but here in the US you do not need a license or registration for 50cc scooters once you mod them up like this are they still considered 50cc or would you need registration
The appeal of a 49cc to 150cc swap is two fold. People who want a high fuel economy mode of transport and don't want the added cost of plates and insurance. The same people might also find that 49cc performance is just very scary in traffic or when climbing a grade, the 150cc upgrade is a dream come true! There's a slight loss of fuel economy and range going to the 150 engine. But the trade off is reasonable.

There's no point in upgrading a 50cc scooter that much. The max speeds you can expect to ride on these things is 55mph. Anything beyond that is just plain stupid dangerous. They're built to run 30mph, that's the bottom line, the frame, the shocks, the wheels, brakes, etc, all are built to handle 30mph speeds, not 55+. That's pretty similar to going 30mph on a little kids pink tricycle with a basket on the front and pink tassels on the handle bars... So... Don't be surprised if your scooter falls apart doing 65 on the freeway. And you're not going to fool the cops into thinking that thing is a stock 49cc scooter. You will have to get motorcycle endorsement, insurance, and registration. With all the money you're sinking into this abomination, you could just buy a street legal motorcycle. This is just.. ridiculously stupid. You wasted a perfectly good, brand new, street legal 49cc scooter, and changed it into an overpowered, ugly, obviously not street legal monstrosity. But if that's what you were going for, mission accomplished.

thats bullshit, all these scooters have the same frame, shocks, brakes. the only difference is cubic capacity, also some 50cc mount on the bottom, all the rest mount on the top right up to 200cc.

no its the same harness. if you can make the brackets and get the motor in, itll connect right in

btw you don't lean to steer you counter steer which causes the bike to lean, leaning does nothing
