Thanks, sir, this video helps more and more because I am thinking about where to start. This month I am going to plant two exotic rice varieties to compare with our local one. I use direct fry sowing like you.

Mate, This is an old video so maybe you have upgraded from rolling with tractor tyres to a roller but if you havn't I urge you to look up what a cambridge roller is, one of the best ever created in my opinion, very old style. Well I'm now in Indonesia and about to plant rice dryland style as yourself so what I have done is collect a whole heap of steel cast wheels of the broken and used concrete mixers they have here and am building a roller out of them. I only have a hand tractor so am limited to size/ width. The shaft through the center's of the wheels is a smaller diameter than the hole so this allows the wheels to move up and down over uneven ground if you know what I mean. I think it should work ok. Yes I have used a cambridge roller in Australia for rolling after broadcasting. Use it for rolling grass and legumes for intercrop. Enjoyed listening to you, sound like a pretty genuine guy, all the best.

Enjoyed your video and explanations. My niece finished her soil science degree at UP. Now she will be attending college in Canada taking Precision Agriculture. I hope to get her established in farming in the Philippines. Hopefully that dream will become a reality before to long. Sorry to see you are no longer producing agricultural videos.

Hi Tilley Hat Farmer. I can see that you seeded directly. Can you also pass through germination process?

    Interesting.
How deep is too deep? if the field is irrigated, can you sow deeper?
Also, the rotovator does not damage the seeds? I guess you don't run it full force.
This spring will be my first year growing rice, and I plan to do it in a way close to yours

Japan dry rice farming. Spread the rice seed and cover it with previous rice stock. No till. Wait for rain. Ducks for weeding and pest control. Duck manure for fertilizer.

Hello, I just ran across your video for seeding non irrigated fields and I'm very interested. Are you still seeding like this? The video you have is from 4 years ago years ago, do you have any updates on this method and your production?
