Planting rice in non-irrigated fields in the Philippines. Direct Sowing.
We've decided to go ahead and start planting rice seeds to this plot of land even though the rains haven't come yet. In this video, we who yo how we do direct sowing of rice seeds in dry fields.
Here I also talk about the challenges we face against weeds, how to directly sow the seeds, how to operate a tractor, mix the seeds with the soil, and compact it.

    Hi from my farm in India..Nice explanation..we are busy planting paddy these day.. here we flood the fields and transplant...interested in trying this method out next time.

    Enjoyed your video and explanations. My niece finished her soil science degree at UP. Now she will be attending college in Canada taking Precision Agriculture. I hope to get her established in farming in the Philippines. Hopefully that dream will become a reality before to long. Sorry to see you are no longer producing agricultural videos.

    Interesting. How deep is too deep? if the field is irrigated, can you sow deeper? Also, the rotovator does not damage the seeds? I guess you don't run it full force. This spring will be my first year growing rice, and I plan to do it in a way close to yours

    Good advice to us as new rice farm in Fiji, I I just started plant hibrid rice but I need more technics on dry land rice rain feeder rice, in Fiji we dont plant rice, more than 50% of rice imported from Asian countries but I appreciate your youtube video will help me on my 2nd planting this month may the good be with us farmers

    Japan dry rice farming. Spread the rice seed and cover it with previous rice stock. No till. Wait for rain. Ducks for weeding and pest control. Duck manure for fertilizer.

    i may as well suggest you got to have a hand tractor or kuliglig in ilocano to compact your planted rice if you dont have a racker or sagad happy planting rice sir and that is really the way for upland planting rice sahod ulan
