you know mike is a genuinely a good person when his expensive camera was knocked down he asked the server condition rather than worrying about his camera.
gotta love this guy
Do you mean he makes his videos on pure enthusiasm rather than with the influence of cash
Because I can partially agree
TheMamiFication yep so true
TheMamiFication who would miss looking good on camera
Rocko probably
It seemed genuine.
I love that mike literally eats like five meals then says “great start”
One of the nicest things about much of this Vietnamese food is that amount of fresh herbs and lettuce, veggies and fruit that every meal seems to have. It makes me really want to cook more of it at home.
MsCherade9 yes, but it’s also sad that Laos is so underrated and no one on YT goes there. It’s the country between Thai and Vietnam, some of the dishes there have different names even though it looks the same as Vietnamese food.
BellRain Chan I think Laos has Khmer foods why Thai and Viet has more Chinese influenced foods.
Yes, Vietnamese meals are always fresh and healthy with herbs, almost every single dish has some sort of greens and vegetables. That's what happens when your country is poor, so you eat more plants and then it turns into your culture and has been incorporated into our dishes ever since :) that's how Asians stay young
I don't think being poor has anything to do with eating vegetables. There are a lot of poor countries whose diet does not have a lot of vegetables. It's the weather; being tropical and humid all-year-round (South east Asia) vs. hot-freezing (in the West) weather has a lot to do with diet. I imagine if North America has tropical weather all year round like southeast Asia, then an abundance of variety of fruits and vegetables would result.
That would hugely influence the native's diets.
It's definitely more economical to eat more vegetables, doesn't mean poor people do it, but they should.
There's no eggs in Bánh xèo 🙂it's the color from the turmeric powder. It's creamy because there's coconut milk, not because of eggs
X That’s exactly what I thought, it was bothering me that he kept saying there was egg in it.
Some store will put eggs in, but normally no in Banh Xeo
Eggs or turmeric. I have used both. Whichever is available. I prefer turmeric.
haha was thinking the same exact thing
was thinking the same exact thing,i put curry powder
I like how Vietnamese food has a nice balance between cooked food and raw veggies. Very good
Because of your Vietnam series, I am saving money to go to Vietnam next year! Cannot wait to eat all that you did!
I can invite you to eat delicious dishes in Vietnam
Remember to buy a helmet
Don’t get scammed
Buy hammer do?
Bring meds for dysentery
I'm pretty sure banh xeo is not made with eggs. It's just the color from the tumeric powder.
Agreed. As a Viet I had a slight cringe but I'll give him a pass.
You absolutely right. The color comes from turmeric :)
Honey Hong thank you!! I was cringing when he kept saying it was eggy lol 😂
Honey Hong the batter is grind up rice, coconut milk and turmeric..
Van Nguyen Heyyy!!!
A great “take a break from food food”. In Mike’s world there really is a food for every occasion! Love this channel so much!
Omg that traffic behind you and they aren't even fighting. Awesome video
Restored Beauty traffic in some places of india is pure cancer
traffic in vietnam is organized chaos. haha
Restored Beauty It’s organized chaos, their just used to it. Lol
Welcome to Vietnam my friend
They arw just using slur words
I am Vietnamese and I eat this food all the time BUT HE JUsT MAKES IT LOOK BETTER... 🤤
yEs
My time is Saigon was amazing and the food was definitely a part of it. So many new flavours and curious combinations that I took back home with me. The street food never failed to impress!
"They're trying to Tetris in some more people" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm so glad I cought that! hahahaha!
I thought I was the only one to use Tetris as a verb. Normally used to describe the act of fitting holiday leftovers into the refrigerator.
Hahaha. Same!
Makes me angry. You can get that delicious thing for 50 cents and I am over here buying 6 inch subs for 7 dollars... damn I hate our food options sometimes.
Say No to Autonomous Driving but given Vietnam's current economic state and circulation of money: they probably view 50¢ just like we view 5/6$ (just saying)
50cent is Actually cheap AF :vv
Rei oh I completely understand and wont argue. But it would be amazing if we got actual quality food for those good prices, instead of eating the 99% frozen chemicals we get to eat.
Even 50 cents is rather cheap or very reasonable according to Vietnamese standards. Here in the US, you got nasty looks if you don't order your foods fast enough!
Rei i dont think so , 50cen = 10k vietnam dong , even the kids in Vietnam has more than that in a day :)
Love this Vietnam series! More like this please.
You know I just really REALLY appreciate Mike! 🤟He is such an awesome TH-camr he’s so real .. when he likes something he likes it when he doesn’t he doesn’t and will say it and I love that at the end of this video he shared a great tip on staying safe! keep it up 😎👌🏿!
Just recently discovered your vlogs and I am really enjoying them. Your enthusiasm comes across as totally authentic not to mention your dedication to learning about the various cuisines you feature. Hats off to a job truly well done Mike. Be well and safe travels!
Then you should watch my food channel when you have a chance haha. I also have tons of street food video.
The thing is they're SO CHEAP and tastes absolutely amazing. $5 spent in a street food market means you'll be VERY FULL
That’s the most veggies I have seen Mikey eat.
Salad rolls are my favorite. When my mom makes them, I could never get enough, its just so fresh and light and then that sweet "hoisan" sauce is amazing, and for soup, my favorite is bo kho. Nothing like the beefy soup and thick rice noodles in it. And of course vietnamese crab udon. Those are my top 3 of viet food that I personally love. For drinks, something about sugar cane drink makes me happy, if I lived in vietnam I probably would've developed diabetes. Coffee is amazing there as well.
Banh xeo is yellow because of the tumeric, not eggs. And bo la lot is wrapped in betel leaves, not basil leaves.
Totally agreed. Cringed a bit hard during his probably accidentally incorrect descriptions of the food. Still craving Vietnamese food though.
I like Mike and his videos but for a guy who "loves" food, to get it so wrong and not be corrected by his Viet tour guide, kinda boggles my mind.
hana how is this basic?
Actualy It's Piper sarmentosum (Piper lolot) - Lá lốt. NOT betel - Lá trầu.
Does the betal make your mouth go numb? Never had it cooked, only in Indian pani. But it always make feel as if I'd just come from the dentist.
As for Mikey getting things wrong. He's human. Humans sometimes get things wrong. It's part oart of the deal.
Looks amazing. A couple of things. The Banh Xeo is a crepe. The yellow you see in the batter is turmeric not egg. The basil leaf beef is actually a Betel leaf. Keep up the amazing food vids. We love your channel
Bahn Xeo can be homemade but it is tricky to get the crepe to flip over. I live in Vancouver and my grandma can make stuff like this but she is From Laos. The cuisine from Laos have similarity’s to Thai and Vietnam with an emphasis on Herbs, Sticky Rice, soups, spicy food, sauces and other things. Meat and dairy is Expensive In Laos so most families eat more fish and veggies.
BellRain Chan Sabaidee...
I’m Vietnamese and making bánh xèo once in a while is a common thing in Vietnamese and most families know how to cook it.
I have to get to Vietnam just to eat all the delicious street food!
Love that Mike is willing to try exotic foods.
4$ for 16 desserts!! Thats an awesome deal man!!
Eat With Mark The Shark! It's because Vietnam is a poor country
Cole Mattia correct word is developing country
Cheetos Ortiz Vietnam is developing FAST. We have modern day tech and items in city’s and a lot of people are wealthy like my grand farther although I do prefer canada, I miss 50% of food in Vietnam that we don’t have in canada :( Japan is helping lot and the us too
Cole Mattia Vietnam will be a developed country by 2020
Lol, i'm vietnamese but i'm not that optimistic man! Vietnam is still a long shot away from being a developed country
That crispy coconut crepe Bahn xeo is one of my favorites. Omg. Every one needs to try that at least once.
Then you should watch my food channel when you have a chance haha. I also have tons of street food video.
The thing is they're SO CHEAP and tastes absolutely amazing. $5 spent in a street food market means you'll be VERY FULL

Hi all, anyone looking for the 16 desserts stall it is NOT in Bui Vien Walking area. I think the video may have given it that impression. The stall is at: Che Mam Khanh Vy, 32 Sư Vạn Hạnh, Phường 2, Quận 10, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam. Not too far from Bui Vien but definitely not in there. We went walking and couldn't find it. Then rewatched and did some googling.
Thanks a lot for sharing this, great help! We will visit this place on Friday :)
i have my food with me. time to watch while eating ;D
maryam haidar I do the same thing! Can’t watch hungry 😋
I R i had cereal and BBQ chips :p
maryam haidar same
Watch out for the first crab soup.
Watching porn again huh
Again....Thank You Mike and Co. for taking me with you...keep it real!
OMG I love Vietnamese food! Everything looks so fresh and YUM! 😋
It makes me tear up with joy how much you are repping VN now. I’m Vietnamese, but I was born in the UK, loving your love for Vietnamese food.
Then you should watch my food channel when you have a chance haha. I also have tons of street food video.
The thing is they're SO CHEAP and tastes absolutely amazing. $5 spent in a street food market means you'll be VERY FULL
If one more person writes something about eggs I'm going to change the recipe on wiki to include 6 dozen eggs in one serving. 🤣
SoFlo Exotic Life did you know there’s no eggs in banh xeo?
😂😂😂
omg you made me laugh big time lmaooo thanks for this - seriously why is everyone so triggered by this😂😂
Do it 😶😂😂
I love how balanced vietnam food is with lots of those fresh veggies everytime.. nice video man!
Ecstatically proud of your love for Vietnamese foods. There's no eggs in bánh xèo. The yellow color in the batter comes from turmeric. Any stomach problems after all that street foods?
Tuan Thai lol mấy bố Việt kiều ngồi ở Mỹ phán :)))
Oh, and you're suppose to be thankful when they have seats at a streetfood restaurant
@Artsy Alina He probably refered the hygiene or their water.
I am a Vietnamese person and I am so happy to see that a lot of you love vietnam streetfood. Travel to vietnam once time, I believe you will be very impressived
I love Vietnamese food so much!
"the slimy thing" is corn chè!! It's my personal favourite! So I'm was very very happy that you liked it😚
Being in college sucks because I can't afford food. I torture myself with food vids, but they're just sooooo interesting
Lol! RAMEN
imagine having to pay for education
I love watching you explore different places and trying different foods-
Who else love when people try out your Country Traditional Food???
Yay!! Glad you like our Vietnamese food!
The facial expression you make when eating amazing food looks like you are totally DONE with life 😂😂😂
Genuinely kind and great energy.
My mom alwayyysss made that crab soup and it’s the best
That man starting the intro standing in the middle of the street with everyone going in all directions lets you know this is some authentic stuff.
"and I realized I was hungry again"
This whole channel is like the setup for a horror movie where the guy's appetite and metabolism slowly speed up until he's eating for every second of every day and still feels like he's starving.
Mike tried all of my favorite childhood dish. Thanks for trying and appreciate our culture.
I want to go to Vietnam so bad because of Mike and his food videos 🤤
I like seeing you enjoying Vietnam. Been there once, and I loved it there.
2:35 the fish sauce is always my favorite!
It's great of you to do this video, because you make me realize that my home town (Vietnam) is an awesome country
Beef basil wrap with the sauce it’s pineapple and anchovy blended together. It’s a really good sauce.
If you like Vietnamese food try growing your own Vietnamese mint - it’s really easy to grow in a pot and helps give a distinctive Vietnamese flavour that is quite different to “normal” mint. Vietnamese mint, coriander, lime juice, fish sauce, chilli (I like to use some sweet chilli sauce) and a tiny bit of palm or brown sugar with some crushed peanuts will make any meal taste delicious.
i'm just made it to saigon and watching this vid has gotten me so hyped to try the desserts
Vietnam is the top of it bucket list that's one beautiful country and the food looks 🤤🤤 the ppl look so friendly 🥰 xx
Thank you for sharing your expedition in Vietnam and you just gave me an idea to travel. Am really loving all your trips
Oh man those Asian desserts 😍 Looks mouth-wateringly!
Vietnamese food and thai food are my 2 favorite
Mike, I’m so glad you tried our dessert. They are delicious. I hope you come back VN again for more eating.

Where is this in Saigon exactly? Visiting Saigon next year and am really looking forward to the food there! Thanks for all the introduction!
I believe he mentioned it in the beginnin of the vid...and enjoy the food..its truly amazing and lot of good flavours...
It’s “Cho 200m” which means “200m market” district 4!
Hey Mikey, what I like about your video is, you are being honest with your feeling here. Not like others. If is it horrible you say it is horrible. Thats what i like about yoru show. Being truthful and honest.
LMAO Mike eating brain is me eating my rice while watching him travel the world
I love all your Vietnam food trip video. I can't wait to go back to Vietnam to see my cousin and just to eat again after the COVID is over TT.
Ok, when you say "súp cua thập cẩm", I laughed a lot of😂😂😂
Obsessed with this series!!!!!!
I really wanna go to Vietnam
my gram's house is literally across the street from that 16 desserts tray! Been eating there since little, and I have to say this is hands down the best place for this type of desserts! Not too sweet, the coconut milk is PERFECT! Thanks Mike for trying this place out and promote it! This means a lot to me :) Miss home so much!!! Love your vids :)
clicking like before i even watch it because I have to get something to eat just to watch this... lol
there is no doubt about you being trending now.....
U deserve it Mike 👍
Can anyone tell me where exactly in Saigon did he go? He said it would be in the description box but it's not
I believe it is Bui Vien Street in Ho Chi Minh city. There are a lot of foods there so you may want to try them all :))
@@dzikanlancer5694 Thank you mah fren
there is Xóm Chiếu Market, district 4
Beef wrapped in betel leaves is one of my favorite dishes as well
Now I add spice and citrus to everything I eat 😂😂
Man, this video made me hungry. Vietnamese food is as good as it gets.
I gained 10 lbs just by 5-6 meals per day in couple week when i back to VN
Banh Xeo (banh seh-o) is actually made from rice flour. The yellow color comes from tumeric powder. There is actually no egg inside. Some people add in coconut milk to the batter mixture to add sweetness. It is mainly eaten with fish sauce or peanut sauce, but fish sauce is more popular
This guys the fukin best out of all these dudes by far his energy facial expressions and hes fit
watching this video makes me want to go back to Vietnam 🤤
I’ve got anxiety watching you stand on the corner with all the traffic!
Welcome to Vietnam
My favorite food of all time is that beef wrap in the leaf thing. It's a must get every time I go back to Vietnam
Vietnamese food is the best ^_^
All I can say is, "Take me with you Mikie!!! Drooooling!!!
Banh Xeo doesn't have egg in the batter
Love In The Mist it’s actually the turmeric powder :)
Love In The Mist turmeric not curry
I love this guy. thanks for making me smile.
I love the janky drone footage ;D You definitely need more practice with that thing.
Vietnam Is Beautiful, I'd Love To Go There. The Foods They Make Are So Healthy Full Of Vegetables And Herbs.
Betel leaves*
Detroit Dave nah, it's called lolot or piper sarmentosum
? its bo la lot - the la lot is betal leaves.
Detroit Dave I think his guide from the other episode told him its basil. That guy need to learn his translation
haha but he's talking about tasting basil flavours x-)
also his description of the banh xeo being "eggy" even though there's no eggs haha
I know eating is a visual thing.. so
The leaf wrapped around the beef isnt actually basil. It's piper sarmentosum/ betel leaves
Hi Mikey I am a huge fan of urs I love ur video's u need tv show
Roberta Tonumaipe'a although I'd love for him to have the opportunity i much prefer the authentic experience he can provide here without a producer telling him how he has to be
Shiloh Joseph how about a TV show with him and his team where he can be himself? 😄
the production value of your videos is amazingly high! great quality content as always 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
That is not eggy. No eggs in making banh xeo. I just pour the fish sauce on the banh xeo and eat it straight out of the plate. Too much work wrapping and dipping.
bizhop2 you can tear up the lettuce & herbs wrap it with your chopsticks that what I do
bizhop2 Eating with hands and wrapping the veggies and herbs are part ritual of food enjoyment.
I am a Vietnamese fan of this channel
