while following your steps for installing mysql community version in my laptop requires .net framework.. Do i have to install .net framework? please help me out what to do for installation of mysql?

Hi. When I run the setx path "%PATH%C:\Apache24;C:\Apache24\bin;C:\php72" /M (in cmd administrator) then I get a "WARNING: The data being saved is truncated to 1024 characters." but it also says "SUCCESS: Specified value was saved."
However, when I run echo %Path% I do not see anything related to Apache24 or php72. What could this be?
Warning means maximum 1024 characters can be saved and above 1024 characters it will be truncated. When you run cmd "setx path "%PATH%C:\Apache24;C:\Apache24\bin;C:\php72" /M" it save first 1024 characters of existing PATH and not adding C:\Apache24;C:\Apache24\bin;C:\php72 in environment variable. So u try to add using following GUI method:
Windows 10 - Right click on Start Menu to get Power User Task Menu → Select System → Advanced System Settings → Environment variables → Choose New, Edit or Delete.
Then choose new and add C:\Apache24;C:\Apache24\bin;C:\php72.

You want to say mysqli extension is "missing" ? then you need to add it in Directory (Your PHP folder) PHP72\ext\php_mysqli.dll(this file).
How do i add the file to the Directory

Hello, I was able to login without the alter user command on the mysql command line. What does creating a new password for root do exactly? I had previously installed mysql before watching this video though, and I had already configured a password for root.
While login into phpMyAdmin got error: mysqli_real_connect(): The server requested authentication method unknown to the client [caching_sha2_password].So changed the Authentication Plugin with the password. Therefore created a new password for root. If you not getting error then do not change root password.

When I type setx path "%PATH%C:\Apache24;C:\Apache24\bin;C:\php72" /M in cmd it telling me that access to the registry path is denied. what should I do? TECHINFOBOOST
You should run CMD with administration permission. If you are having Windows 10 then do following steps:
1) Press the Windows logo key on the keyboard or simply click/tap the Windows logo button on the bottom-left corner of the screen to open the Start.
2) Type CMD in the search box (search box is automatically selected when you open Start), and then simultaneously press Ctrl+Shift+Enter keys.
