there is no php7_apache.dll file in my folder. Infact there are php 8 files

On php 8 it is: php8apache2_4.dll

when you said to restart Apache2.4 that's when it stopped working for me. Now I get a message that reads; Windows could not start the Apache2.4 on Local Computer.
For more information, review the System Event log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 1.

I'm having a problem. Using the latest Apache, and PHP 7.4 after doing all the editing and checking I get this when I use localhost or my IP ( echo "My PHP Page";phpinfo (); back. Any idea what I missed?

Php version...mysql 8 uses auth plugin caching_sha2_password which is not available prior to php 7.4

Install mysql first. then download php myadmin packange and extract it into the web root.
