I was ready to order one from you until it came to the checkout and the shipping was almost as much as the ramp.

Seems if they would ad some kind of hydraul;ic or scissor lift in the center to let the motor part of the frame sit on, it would take a lot of strain off of the ends where the tires are, center the weight and reduce bending and bouncing. could probably rig that and put a heavier bike on their as well

I bought one so I could carry my 400lb Buell XB12r on my Colorado z71 and it bounced around like a cocker spaniel back there. I had to sell it to a guy who wanted it to carry his moped. I would never travel with any sport bike with this device. Dirt bikes, moped, or a Honda Grom....that's it!

my Honda 100CRF off-road bike weighs 165 lbs. and needs hauled on jeep roads with lots of bumps and sideways rotation jerks. can these ramps in the ad take that sort of stress ?

Good question as some peak pounds of pressure exerted on the hitch should be considerable, but difficult to determine. You'll probably have to direct your question to people who have had success under such conditions.

I learned the hard way about using this ramp on a lifted Jeep.

Do any of these racks have Transport Dept Compliance Approval ?

This ramp is sold under many different names. They are all over ebay.

They don't list the weight of the carrier on any of their ramps and also they recommend that none of their ramps should on a RV even though my RV says 300lb limit. If the bike I am using is 250lbs then what's the issue???
This plus the shipping is just a no go!

right my b class van's tongue weight capacity is 300lbs. so i dont see the problem. my bike weights 150lbs

It really depends on the RV and how/where you mount the ramp. If it is too low, any dips will hit and cause cause issues. most mounts are under the rear bumper reducing your clearance.

Will it work on a lifted truck?? Also what about if a sport bike has a minor stretch???

    • @Smoove233
      @Smoove233 8 ปีที่แล้ว

It should work with a lifted vehicle and find one that fits the length of your bike

Another question would be if you can use a drop hitch with the carrier if your truck is lifted?

Hey guys, does anybody know if I buy the dirt bike rack, is it still possible to open the Canopy door on my Ford Ranger with a Kx250f?

When your bike is loaded on the carrier, you may find it difficult to fully open your canopy door. You can find the carrier and all the specs here on our website: www.discountramps.com/motorcycle-carrier/p/AMC-400/ If you have more questions, please feel free to contact us at 888-651-3431.

Ramp sells for $139. BUT ships to Hawaii for an extra $260! Last time i checked Hawaii is still a part of the UNITED STATES. They claim free shipping. as long as its across the street.

I guess shipping price has to do with THE DISTANCE required to ship the product. Come on man, like you're not used to see expensive shipping to the island on everything coming from the mainland.

Yeah, it’s part of the United States, but you do have to go into the middle of the ocean to get there... most likely there’s something that says “contiguous United States.”
