Alhamdulillah so nice when I have that name as my Kunya to hear the heartwarming story of Umm Ayman's life, radi allahu anhaa, who had that unique distinction of being beside Rasulallah, salla allahu alaihi wassalam, throughout his whole life and be inspired by her example.
I named my daughter after her(r.a). May Allah bless my daughter with a heart that is as loving and sincere . This lecture made my heart full . JazakaAllah khair, ustad.
@Sia Rizvi I mean yeah but it is definitly something impressiv. She was also a free woman at that point she didnt owe the prophet saw. anything anymore and as an old woman she defended him. It is 100% something you cant say muslims nowadays would do.
She is always mentioned in the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ and a significant part of his life She was present when his mother was pregnant with him and all throughout his life. She was the only person Allah honored to know the Prophet ﷺ in utero to his death.
Notes:- Umm Ayman R.A. -She was with the prophet pbuh from the day when he was born till the day he died -She was born 13yrs before the prophet pbuh -She was a slave from Abyssinia -She was purchased by the father of prophet pbuh Abdullah and she was the only one living with Abdullah and Aminah and her name was BARAKAH - Abdullah went to syria (as sham) for trade and he didn't know her wife is pregnant -Aminah saw a dream where a light is coming from her stomach and lighting up the hill to the as sham so she asked barakah what it is so she said you are probably going to have a blessed child with good news -Abdullah didn't return from As sham, he died and Barakah was the only one with Aminah in the room when she was delivering prophet pbuh -first one to hold prophet pbuh, she saw a light coming from him -Barakah, Aminah and Halima were the 3 who nursed prophet pbuh -Prophet pbuh introduced Barakah to Khadija saying "She is my mother after my mother" -Barakah didn't get married because she wanted to take care of prophet pbuh all her life she said that "I never left him and he never left me" but after prophet's marriage he freed barakah and khadijah found her a suited husband and paid all the expenses -Her husband was Ubaid Ibn Zaid from yathrib and then she had a son with him named Ayman -Her husband passed away before Islam and after 6 years of Islam Prophet pbuh asked everyone "who wants to get married to a woman from Jannah" he was referring to Barakah and Zaid ibn Haritha who was 20yrs younger than Barakah agreed to get married to her -Zaid ibn harith was like a son to prophet pbuh -Even when Barakah was too old to give birth Allah gave her a son Usama ibn Zaid -She made hijrah and she was around 70 at that time. She got thirty on her way and thought that she is going to die of the thirst but suddenly she saw a bucket of water held with a rope from sky is coming towards her then she drank from it and poured the rest of the water on herself. After that she used to fast on the hardest day, do tawaf on under the sun and never became thirty again -Anas R.a. reported One day Prophet pbuh visited umm ayman and he was fasting or didn't want to eat so she puts the food in his mouth and said eat..eat.. -There was no one who made prophet pbuh laugh like she did -She saw all of her beloved die -When prophet pbuh died she distanced herself from everyone and became quiet -She lived for a long time, she saw umar bin khattab becoming the khalifa -Abu bakr and Umar bin khattab visited her after prophet's death, she was weeping and said that she isn't crying because Prophet pbuh is no more he is at a better place but she is crying because the revelation has stopped coming directly from the heaven and all of the three started crying -She lived 20 days after the assassination of Uman bin khattab Astagfirullah for any mistake and please correct me if I have mentioned anything wrong
Shaik Omar Suleiman makes the people of the Prophets (pbuh) time come to life in the most amazing way. He helps bring you so close to our Prophet (pbuh). I can imagine Allah s.w.t and our Prophet (pbuh) smiling as they watch Shaik Omar Suleiman teach us the beginning of Islam. I pray Allah swt give him the highest level of jannah
Alhamdulillah... beautiful 39:22 mins spent listening to your lecture on "my mother after my mother". I have yet to come across a single video where you have not made me cry. MashaAllah. May Allah Continue to Bless you with a soft sincere heart, solid knowledge, articulate way of moving and inspiring others towards Islam. Ameen. Jazak Allah Khairan.
It's so nice to hear how the Prophet s.a.w would respond to her when she couldn't get the Arabic right. I have an aunt who is a revert and all my relatives mock her pronunciations and give her a very hard time because she sometimes mispronounces words, and I always felt sad how even her salam was mocked or scolded at family gatherings. She has never spoken a word of Arabic in her life before and my relatives who aren't Arab themselves expect her to be perfect with her Arabic, while we have Umm Ayman r.a who lived in Makkah for decades and would still mess up some of the words but the Prophet s.a.w being a native Arab never berated or scolded her to learn the correct pronunciations! I wish Muslims especially born Muslims think very deeply about the negativity they give off even if they want to "correct" and "help someone be a better Muslim", mockery and ridicule is NOT the way.
Alhamdulilah...as an aspiring Midwife, I can only imagine the feeling to have been the first to touch Prophet Muhammad..may peace and blessings be upon him. May Allah bless her abundantly. 💞💞
After having known that Sayyidatunaa Āminaah passed away I never realized how badly my heart was hurt by the fact that Rasool’Allaah صلى الله عليه و سلم never had a mother figure, but the joy I felt in my heart that our Sayyid and Master صلى الله عليه وسلم had a mother figure... subhaanallaah it’s a sukoon beyond words that I now know that our Sayyid and Beloved Prophet was looked after... AlHamdulillaah
It's 7.04 Am & the 1st sweetest thing happened is i listened that " Prophet (SAW) mother used too feed directly in his mouth even if he doesn't wanted to eat food Now how sweet is this ! Like today's day .
The whole amazing lecture and awesomeness of Imam Omar aside, i cannot be the only one who has NEVER heard about her. We are purposefully never taught about strong Muslim women in schools,college..islamic lectures...I always felt we need to know more about Sahaabiyat but the fact that we arent taught about a black woman who was like Prophet's mother..doesnt seem like a coincidence.
I'm really upset that I have barely heard her name mentioned in everything I've read/heard about the seerah (which isn't a ton, but she was so important in his life salli alahu alyhi weh salam that it still seems wrong)
Mash'Allah! Beautiful lecture, to us African American Muslims this is very empowering!! I just don't see any African American non Muslim listening to this except that it also wants them to embrace or love Islam!
SubhanAllah! My mother passed away 3 days ago and Without searching I’m getting to know Barakah ( Razi Allah Talal anha) . So comforting! Please keep my parents in your Duaa.

May the Almighty Allah bless and protect you my dear. Africa is the birth place of man. Prophet Muhammad s.a.w has a strong connection with Africa and I believe we love him more ❤
I am completely floored by this lecture. I have never heard of this amazing woman but by the end of it I was in love with her. What a beautiful episode SubhanAllah I hope to learn more about her in the future!
This is part of pre Islamic Arabian culture. Baraka bint Thaʿlaba is her birth name and Umm Ayman is her kunya which women receive after the birth of their first child. In her case she is Umm Ayman, which identifies her as Ayman's mother.
So humbling, the deep love and affection she had for the prophet sallalahu alayhi Wasalam, with “ana bi khair”. The dedication and the resilience of a mother, to Allahs beloved. Really brought tears learning about such a personality, May Allah swt be please with her and unite her in the barzakh. Ameen
🤲🏽 May Allâh Subhânahu wa Ta’âla shower His Peace and Blessings upon His Prophet Messenger Muhammad Sall Allâhu Alayhi wa sallam and upon his Righteous Beloved Family and Companions far beyond their dreams and greatest optimism Amîn... "She defended the prophet SAW in battle field when everyone ran away" this made me very emotional. What a woman. ALLAHUAKBAR
A woman of jannah❤️
@Sia Rizvi I mean yeah but it is definitly something impressiv. She was also a free woman at that point she didnt owe the prophet saw. anything anymore and as an old woman she defended him. It is 100% something you cant say muslims nowadays would do.
SubhanAllah
Same here… i wish i could have been there on that day of uhud as one of the companions jumping to catch arrows for him (s)
SubhânAllâh
I’d never heard of this women before. Jazak’Allah for sharing. How amazing she got to spend soooo much time in the presence of the Prophet (PBUH)
She is always mentioned in the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ and a significant part of his life She was present when his mother was pregnant with him and all throughout his life. She was the only person Allah honored to know the Prophet ﷺ
in utero to his death.

Notes:- Umm Ayman R.A.
-She was with the prophet pbuh from the day when he was born till the day he died
-She was born 13yrs before the prophet pbuh
-She was a slave from Abyssinia
-She was purchased by the father of prophet pbuh Abdullah and she was the only one living with Abdullah and Aminah and her name was BARAKAH
- Abdullah went to syria (as sham) for trade and he didn't know her wife is pregnant
-Aminah saw a dream where a light is coming from her stomach and lighting up the hill to the as sham so she asked barakah what it is so she said you are probably going to have a blessed child with good news
-Abdullah didn't return from As sham, he died and Barakah was the only one with Aminah in the room when she was delivering prophet pbuh
-first one to hold prophet pbuh, she saw a light coming from him
-Barakah, Aminah and Halima were the 3 who nursed prophet pbuh
-Prophet pbuh introduced Barakah to Khadija saying "She is my mother after my mother"
-Barakah didn't get married because she wanted to take care of prophet pbuh all her life she said that "I never left him and he never left me" but after prophet's marriage he freed barakah and khadijah found her a suited husband and paid all the expenses
-Her husband was Ubaid Ibn Zaid from yathrib and then she had a son with him named Ayman
-Her husband passed away before Islam and after 6 years of Islam Prophet pbuh asked everyone "who wants to get married to a woman from Jannah" he was referring to Barakah and Zaid ibn Haritha who was 20yrs younger than Barakah agreed to get married to her
-Zaid ibn harith was like a son to prophet pbuh
-Even when Barakah was too old to give birth Allah gave her a son Usama ibn Zaid
-She made hijrah and she was around 70 at that time. She got thirty on her way and thought that she is going to die of the thirst but suddenly she saw a bucket of water held with a rope from sky is coming towards her then she drank from it and poured the rest of the water on herself. After that she used to fast on the hardest day, do tawaf on under the sun and never became thirty again
-Anas R.a. reported One day Prophet pbuh visited umm ayman and he was fasting or didn't want to eat so she puts the food in his mouth and said eat..eat..
-There was no one who made prophet pbuh laugh like she did
-She saw all of her beloved die
-When prophet pbuh died she distanced herself from everyone and became quiet
-She lived for a long time, she saw umar bin khattab becoming the khalifa
-Abu bakr and Umar bin khattab visited her after prophet's death, she was weeping and said that she isn't crying because Prophet pbuh is no more he is at a better place but she is crying because the revelation has stopped coming directly from the heaven and all of the three started crying
-She lived 20 days after the assassination of Uman bin khattab
Astagfirullah for any mistake and please correct me if I have mentioned anything wrong
