I got the Union CD from Bruce Kulick the night before a kiss show in Omaha Ne. still have it. signed with a Kiss revenge CD. Bruce was one of the nicest people I have ever met.
2:25 What he said about someone at the label being on drugs, that's something very important. People be popping pills at their desks at a lot of these places and no one checks or cares and it sometimes goes on for years. Seen this with my own eyes, it's not good.
I was at one of the shows that they opened for Cinderella. My buddy and I had been listening to that first album non-stop since it had been released so finding out they were opening up for Cinderella, it was just icing on the cake for that show. They were awesome live, glad I got to see them least once. Both those albums still hold up today.
I was lucky enough to see them. They were at a bar in lincoln ne. The night of the show aerosmith was playing in omaha & 311 were playing down town. There were only 10 people at that show. They played like they we're playing to a sold out arena. Aftet the show they hung out with everybody. John & Bruce were walking around handing out guitar picks & made sure everybody got one. All 4 of them were very nice guys.
Both Union albums are on Spotify. And as with anything Corabi was involved in, it’s really good. It’s not the scream or Crue, but those two union albums are definitely worth your time
John is a hard rocker, harder than what Motley Crue wanted to play after Corabi left. Motley's self titled album is f*cking awesome, and years later people are now realizing that! Bruce and Corabi together made some good music.
What's crazy is just how much rock music changed from 1990 - 98. It had gone through several major iterations. Then compare that to the last 20 years where music basically hasn't changed at all. It's kinda crazy I don't understand what happened. These guys sound like they would have done better a few years earlier.
At one point in the 2000s or the 2010s, Ozzy's band consisted of Zakk Wylde, Robert Trujillo and Mike Borden and, if I remember correctly, when Robert left to join Metallica, they drafted in Jason Newstead to take his place for a bit. I know they were "just" a backing band to a solo artist, but both of those lineups are killer. They're 1.5 supergroups I never see talked about.
Glad u mentioned this’ it’s really important that things like this get talked about to give people a more in depth perspective about the history of certain bands ✌️
It was the 90s and a little bit of early 2000 jason left metallica in 2001 Robert would replace him in 2003. I vaguely remember Jason being ozzys bass player, it didn't last that long and was probably for publicity
I lay part of the blame on Paul and Gene. Instead of being loyal to Bruce and giving him the opening gig, they went with smaller local bands. The guy busted his back bumper playing with them for 12 YEARS and they didn't throw him even one bone to help him out.
The band almost always neve gets to choose the opening act. It's usually the record company. Which is exactly what happened to Union as described in the video. Years later, Bruce has been a staple, repeat act on the KISS Cruise shows.
Wow, ya got me. I wasn't even aware of this band, and I was still working in the record business at that time. I think Corabi was the best singer Crue ever had, and Kulick wrote a lot of great stuff with KISS. I'm gonna go check out Union right now - thanks R&RTS!
@Superduper Starwars Stopmotion Channel!(and more!) Well I do recall there being a 3rd guy who got booted right before they signed with Q Prime and made Too Fast. And technically, there was Vince and the later Vegas Vince edition, which were a little different. Both sucked compared to Corabi.
Vince was good in the early days, he should have retired for good in 2000, now I’m embarrassed for him and the band. Corabi is a great singer and I loved his album with Crüe.
I'm surprised people didn't like the sound to me It sounds like Monster Magnet and lots of stoner bands that were getting big at the time. It's a shame no one would sign them.
Totally remember Union. The debut album was a decent album, never heard the 2nd one. The Motley Crue album with Corabi was far superior then ANY Vince Neil album. It was amazing.
A few other supergroups would be Damn Yankees (Jack Blades from Night Ranger, Tommy Shaw from STYX and Ted Nugent) & Arcade (Stephen Pearcy from RATT & Fred Coury from Cinderella).
Union actually got some radio play on our rock station in Kansas City, and that's how I heard of them. I was a fan of Corabi era Motley Crue and Kulic era Kiss. I will say that I liked Union, I didn't love Union. Outside of the radio singles, they were just okay. Nothing special in my mind, which was disappointing, as I loved their previous work.
Hearing that people just weren’t interested in retro rock when Union put out its first album reminded me of something Zakk Wylde once said: “f*** Limp Bizkit.” It’s sad that such crap became an obstacle in the way of way more talented musicians.
Corabi could not cut it w crue , too many big personalities , he was a guitarist more than a singer in my opinion , and no doubt good at both , but crue has that formula that needs the originals , you will see what happens w john 5 , now that mick is out , its going to implode
This band was really bad. Most of this shit is. They like to blame Napster, and stuff... it's because this style of rock was always bad and will always be bad.
I love the two Union records. It's a shame that success didn't bring them to stardom because that band was full of talent.
I was absolutely floored by the first record when it was released. I was 15 at the time and it was everything I wanted in a band.
I loved the Crüe album with John Corabi, it actually got stolen from me twice at house parties.
Never heard of this band. Just bought the CD. Thanks!
I got the Union CD from Bruce Kulick the night before a kiss show in Omaha Ne. still have it. signed with a Kiss revenge CD. Bruce was one of the nicest people I have ever met.
Great Band! Corabi is amazing as a vocalist and great on guitar and Bruck is amazing on guitar!
Union was an amazing band. If you have not heard it you should. Thanks for another amazing video!!!

Those records were solid! Very much the classic "wrong place wrong time" for that music. Good on ya!
That's a very nice story. I would TOTALLY have been there!!!! I was old enough too.
I'm going to see Anvil next month at a bar in brooklyn.
Both Union albums are on Spotify. And as with anything Corabi was involved in, it’s really good. It’s not the scream or Crue, but those two union albums are definitely worth your time
My Dad's band opened for these guys back in the day. Said they were extremely nice dudes. That first album is amazing !
I bought the first Union CD 💿

Trujillo and Borden also played on one of Jerry Cantrell’s solo albums (his second I believe) around this time

Not surprising from gene

@@NeedleDropRules Kiss has had the opening band option since the 80's, but Paul and Gene's heads are so full of hot air....which explains a lot.
“Smaller local bands” like Alice In Chains, The a Melvin’s, Stabbing Westward, The Nixons, The Verve Pipe, Powerman 5000, and Pantera? 😂
Paul and Gene are the biggest assholes in rock

I enjoy seeing you in your videos!
I was in a band once.
You should do a video on brides of destruction
I never heard of them....glad you did this!!!

Got to see and meet Union back in the day. Still have the autographed cds somewhere...and a picture of my ex kissing John Corabi lol.
I don't know if I'd go THAT far, since their first album was dope!
But I totally hear ya! That '94 album was completely overlooked.
Awesome 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Oh the cattiness... Philadelphia USA 🇺🇲❤️ AMEN
At the time, MTV was playing commercial fluff!!
Supergroup with the biggest air quotes possible.
😅🤣 right
Got a live album
Also , great songs by a great band.
Both albums are really good....I especially like the 2nd album, The Blue Room.
Just sold their first cd last year
It's cool to see you talking to the camera!
I didn't forget.
I never heard of Union
They should name themselves"Kiss Crues" 👍👍👍
Clever! 😊
Totally remember Union. The debut album was a decent album, never heard the 2nd one.
The Motley Crue album with Corabi was far superior then ANY Vince Neil album. It was amazing.
Do Blind Faith next!
Definite supergroup
Not that you don’t look great but I have a hard time associating your voice with your face still 😅
@@michaelwilson2340 no it’s called dealing with copyright bs syndrome
Oh... for a moment I thought this was gonna be about Eric Singer Project, with Corabi and Kulick
Who's the best supergroup ever?
Asia
Damn Yankees
Just a tough time to come out with new music in that genre. Things had changed. Good stuff though
A few other supergroups would be Damn Yankees (Jack Blades from Night Ranger, Tommy Shaw from STYX and Ted Nugent) & Arcade (Stephen Pearcy from RATT & Fred Coury from Cinderella).
Damn Yankees is done on my channel
Gene and Paul aren't even loyal to each other...their only loyalty is to the dollar!

As a huge KISS an MOTLEY fan let me be the first to say, these guys were hardly a 'Super group' 🙄
This was not a supergroup.
I still have that one. Let's be honest. It's not that good.
disagree.
Hearing that people just weren’t interested in retro rock when Union put out its first album reminded me of something Zakk Wylde once said: “f*** Limp Bizkit.” It’s sad that such crap became an obstacle in the way of way more talented musicians.
Riverdogs
Strait forward rock? I’m already yawning..
Corabi could not cut it w crue , too many big personalities , he was a guitarist more than a singer in my opinion , and no doubt good at both , but crue has that formula that needs the originals , you will see what happens w john 5 , now that mick is out , its going to implode
The Motley album with Corabi was amazing. Way better then ANYTHING with Vince.
Forgtton for damn good reason.
This band was really bad. Most of this shit is. They like to blame Napster, and stuff... it's because this style of rock was always bad and will always be bad.
