FASCINANT ... HYPNOTISANT ...... C en apnée et en boucle depuis 40 minutes que je regarde NINA CORTI danser ces 2 prodigieux fandangos de BOCCHERINI !! C'est une musique d'une BEAUTÉ à l'état pur .... qui m'ensorcelle littéralement .... Et la brillante N. Corti nous illumine de sa grâce et de sa !! Merci à ce quartet talentueux de nous entraîner dans cette ronde étourdissante !!!!!!! Je suis réellement addicte ...wahoooho
Ça fait plaisir en tant qu'espagnol de trouver des interprètes aussi «in tune» avec le caractère de cette musique, certainement populaire pour nous. J'ai à l'esprit la grâce et le pétillant de cette danseuse-interprète des castagnettes. Ole la grasia ! 😉
Grâce baroque et folie espagnole ! Magnifique en ces temps moroses : l'éternelle jeunesse !
On trouve parfois des castagnettes introduites à la Cour de Louis XIV, dans certains ballets de Lully... Eh, oui, la reine, Marie-Thérèse, comme Anne d'Autriche, la reine précédente, était bien Espagnole !

Hello Everyone! Me again . . . I've been watching and rewatching this great performance and now realize why I find it extraordinary. Not only does Sra Corti give use a perfectly timed and balanced performance on the castanets, but her dancing and physical performance are nothing short of Olympian! There is so much physical, emotional, and musical control going on here. Any one of us (assuming we could actually play the castanets) would be physically EXHAUSTED after only 2 minutes (if that) of being on our feet, performing music, and throwing our arms into the air. This is BALLET joined with MUSICIANSHIP joined with pure CONTROLLED PASSION/PERFORMANCE and done PERFECTLY. On top of all this, Sra Corti makes the whole thing look EASY. BRAVA x 1,000!!!!!!

J'ai eu la chance d'entendre 2 fois en concert Hesperion XX : Jordi Savall et Montserrat Figueras en 1991 et 1992 pour les 500 ans du " Siècle d'Or espagnol " : inoubliable ! Montserrat Figueras est ma cantatrice préférée...l'Italie, d'où était originaire Boccherini, est tout-de-méme bien dotée elle aussi !

@@topologyrob I intend not to discard any of India's culture and variety in any way, however, I fail to imagine that an entire continent with several language families and therefore culture, literature and music in various forms and eras falls short of one peninsula.
@@benjaminjohannessanchez3310 India is itself a continent, or a subcontinent with many language families, and many more languages than Europe - when you learn more about the great diversity of culture, it will become extremely apparent that the diversity there is greater than all of Europe. It's hardly surprising, since it has a much larger population than Europe, and has older continuous traditions in music, with many more different traditions than have existed in Europe.

Just love the castanets. I have heard a rendition in which the castanets are not as prominent as in this recording; this is so much better. They add to the excitement of the piece and they are spectacularly played; she misses not a beat. Marvelous. Did I mention that I like it?

Agree with you that the prominence given to the castanets adds to the piece's sense of excitement and joie de vivre! In the Southern Classical (aka Carnatic) musical tradition of India, essentially the same instrument is used. It is called the kinnaram in Kerala and Talam in Tamil Nadu. I remember loving the sound as a child. Carnatic music has incredibly complex rhythms (both drumming as well as idiophones), if you are interested in rhythms.

Carissimo cugino spagnolo, saluti da Napoli. Le nacchere sono di tradizione squisitamente latina. Si trovano anche nel folklore italiano meridionale e si chiamano castagnette. Una volta diffusissime, ora di molto di meno, purtroppo. C'era nella tarantella napoletana . Fino a qualche decennio fa si costruivano pure a Sorrento, provincia di Napoli. Sono sopravvissute in una danza antichissima risalente ai tempi romani , con influenze arabe e spagnole: la danza della "TAMMURRIATA". Era sopravvissuta in alcune aree della Campania, insieme al canto . NE PARLERÒ

In Egitto , fatte di avorio, osso o legno, con bacchetta di sostegno , e dai Greci e Romani, che le chiamavano " crotali ". Tale termine designa anche il famoso, velenoso serpente a sonagli, che presenta dei dischetti ossei nella coda, che producono il caratteristico suono quando si muove strisciando sul terreno. Esse si trovano nella musica popolare tradizionale sia spagnola che quella italiana meridionale. In Italia si chiamano "castagnole " o " castagnette ", però sfortunatamente il loro uso si è molto diradato ; sopravvive nell'antichissima danza campana della " tammurriata"
(area dei paesi della campagna intorno al vulcano Vesuvio ; agro di Nocera e Sarno ; agro di Giuliano in Campania ) . Tale danza affonda nelle antichissime radici dei popoli italici preromani , con influenze arabo spagnole, accompagnate da un canto ossessivo , ipnotico e dalla percussione a mano di un grande tamburo a cerchio ornato di coppie di dischetti di latta , chiamato "tammorra". Esso è immortalato in un celebre mosaico romano di Pompei, conservato nel Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli, raffigurante un gruppo di musicanti che suonano e ballano. Si trovano nella tarantella sorrentina e quella del Gargano (Puglia ). In Abruzzo, Marche Calabria e Sicilis le suonano però solo i musicisti che accompagnano le " tarantelle" calabresi e siciliane ed i " saltarelli " marchigiani o abruzzesi, mentre nelle tarantelle e tammurriate campane vengono suonate dai danzatori.
Trovare in rete filmati sull'esecuzione dal vivo di tammurriate e tarantelle garganico e saltarelli abruzzesi marchigiani. La tammurriata campana raffigura la danza di corteggiamento del colombo.

Ole! Boccherini is a very underrated composer.
Tanta castañuela no estaba incluido en el original de Boccherini. Sin embargo ese aporte de Nina es maravilloso. Boccherini tal habría quedado asombrado y encantado. Además con las figuras de ella y el ritmo que impuso.

Stunning work from the orchestra and Nina Corti. Her movement was so very elegant and full of fire, while her facial expression showed how much she enjoyed the performance. Her timing was impeccable and the rhythm of the castanets was flawless and hypnotic. This was very high art. Thank you!

Aires de la música y de la danza populares españolas del siglo XVIII, evolución de la jácara del siglo precedente, en línea con otros ritmos plebeyos como las folias, las zarabandas, las hachas, las seguiriyas, villanos, etc., magníficamente estilizadas por ese gran compositor italiano al servicio de la corte española que fue Boccherini.
Ritmos que se enriquecieron con las influencias "indianas" del Nuevo Mundo y que retornaron a América y aún perviven en las músicas de nuestro Continente. Hermosa herencia y patrimonio español.

El material de las castañuelas es de fibra, el constructor Victor Galiano de Madrid. Son de los años 1980 hecho de la mano de Galiano mismo. Galiano ya no vive mas. Todavía se vende castañuelas bajo el nombre de Galiano.
