This tutorial expands on the gemstone earring video I already did and adds more than one bead at a time for each wrap. It also shows the difference between wrapping once and more wraps. I used 4mm bicone crystals for the circle pendant and 2mm amethyst gemstone beads for the hoop earrings. When I did the hoop earrings I started with two beads then progressed to three then went back to two to vary the look. You can play with the amount of beads you use, pearls look really nice when wrapped on circles but so do crystals, so it's totally up to you.

Oh thank you! I purchased some leopard jasper chip hoops off Etsy but unfortunately it must have been some cheap stainless steel with a high nickel content because I'm allergic as hell to them. I'm going to find some nickel free hoops and just wire the leopard jasper chips onto it!

Glad to help, it’s no fun having an allergic response to something you just bought, but at least the beads are good. Good luck with your project 😊

Nice tutorial. where do you buy your tools and wires? thanks

Thanks for your question. My first pair of pliers(pink ones) came from Walmart and cost $7. I have also bought pliers at Michaels craft store with percent off coupons. But if you don't live near either of these places artbeads.com has a great selection of tools. I really like the 4 in one multi task pliers (like my pink ones)and they're inexpensive at less than $10. To start out you should have a good pair of flush cut wire cutters(good doesn't mean expensive it means that they cut well) round nose pliers and chain nose pliers. The multitask pliers can take the place of the chain nose pliers but sometimes people find them too small, it's really a personal choice. Artbeads carry good tools at reasonable prices so it's probably my favorite place( I'm not affiliated with artbeads, it's just a personal choice) hope this helps, :) Denise

I buy my wires at artbeads as well. I used to buy artistic wire from them but now they have their own brand of designer wire wire that is excellent. They also sell sterling silver and gold filled wire, beadaholique.com sells wire as well and sometimes they have percent off sales where you can get a good discount, you have to join their email list to know about all the deals( I am no affiliated with beadaholique.com, it's a personal choice) hope this helps.:) Denise

Will that work with Memory Wire?

No, memory wire won’t work to attach the beads because it’s too inflexible, you might be able to use it for a Hoop though.
