Dadgumm, I dig this so hard! That concept is WINNING! That saves on labor, allows for good, VETTED customer service, and is perfect for us nightshift workers who REALLY cant catch a break when it comes to our hobbies!
Hol up a minute did youtube just recommend me a video for JCs? Jeff is a great guy been going here for years, it's grown so much. JCs is definitely the best card shop I've been too.
It's great to see (one of) my local shops getting some attention! They do have a neat concept, even though it's not for me. And you're right, it is absolutely a store run by (former? Haven't seen Jeff play in a hot minute) gamers! Jeff used to fill in for us on drafts when we needed one more and would pass money cards so his players would get them. Great store and great team!
I would have never thought of taking the 24/7 gym business model and applying it to a card store. I'd be happy with much less since I personally don't have an LGS. Every store within an hour drive that had a play area closed. So we started a playgroup at the local library instead to circumvent issues that crop up with hosting at your own place.
That's neat, we actually run a shop with a similar idea, but we haven't had a chance to bring in vending machines yet as we're still rather new and the machines are rather expensive.
Love the idea for shops like this. Also since I pulled Shroofus sprout shire from foundations jumpstart, do you think there is a budget way to build him effectively
I don't know what your normally cover, or why I'm watching a jelly cat person, but I would love to see more coverage on game stores. You mentioned momocon, and there's a couple really good ones in the ATL area.
@surismtg gigabytes cafe in Marietta is probably the largest/best game store in the south(try their food, for real). The following I don't know if they're still around as I stopped gaming when I had a kid but used to regularly hit these. Wasteland games. Super games, ravens nest(also in Marietta, just the opposite end) meeple madness. Those are probably the best ones on the north side, but there are many many more smaller ones in the area. Just bouncing between ravens/giga/super I was able to be in sizable draft/tourney 4 nights a week back when I was playing bigger tourneys regularly.
Suris did you know there is a found footage horror zone happening outside your background windows? o__o That place looks amazing though. I'd love to be able to go to a store like that. If I ever manage to get my shop up you can come there too xD
I remember playing there back in the day when it first opened. So much has changed. I played a lot of standard/modern/pioneer tournaments there. I wonder what happened to the original owners.
I was at one once in arizona, had a MASSIVE area for 40k that, went unused most likely, and wasnt a great place, dont ask me about the second bathroom. eventually they massived downsized and I think they stopped being 24/7, probably even shut down eventually, but, it was certainly interesting.
You inspired me to get into a TCG/CCG but my vision isdues make it difficult. I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh fairly regularly but seeing as how so many cards are just walls of text that's out. I was suggested Pokémon and with my next check I plan on buying a starter deck. In the meantime I'm enjoying the new app Pokémon TCG Pocket.
Hm... If you ever get the chance to go to Portland, Oregon... How about Top of the Line Games? It's not just a card shop, but also sells used video games, and model kits (Also console repairs and some modding services, sadly no built in capture cards 'cause "piracy" concerns). It just happened to move to a location near the location of an anime convention called Kumoricon (cloudy convention). Bonus points for it being a Queer owned and friendly business! Q.Q ^_^b
I like how I go to their Facebook page cus I wanna read more about their 24/7 hours, and the first post I read is them being closed on the 27th and 28th (thanksgiving)
It would be cool if you and your gf could come to Colorado. There's a few stores in the city I live in that are fairly cool. Not this level of cool, but cool nonetheless.
If you do, recommend staying at High Ground Hobbies down the road from here. Much better card store, and it has an AirBNB. The food is excellent as well.
sorry man if youre using a anime chick to represent yourself to beg on the internet anything you say is worthless. Thank you for letting me know i can just write this channel off as trash.
This is my local card shop and its great. Glad to see JC's getting some publicity and love!
I have a cardshop that stays open till from noon - 2am, and i gotta say, it's really awesome!
As a parent of young kids I absolutely LOVE this. I usually can’t get out until after 9 or 10pm and most stores are closed or closing.
The idea is fantastic!

When do you guys play draft? I would love to join them! Thanks!
@winklestein3567 I think the JC's drafts are usually Saturdays at 2. We also do them on Fridays at Mastermind around 6.
@@STVMcarbondragon Thanks for responding! I've been looking for draft pods in Huntsville but I'm having a tough time finding one.
What a fascinating concept. I dig it.
That is such a fun concept and really trusts its customers. It feels like safe space. I cannot imagine a store like that in my part of the US.
Safe space???? Your cooked
@robryan9296 what else do you call a space that doesn't have slashed tires, shoplifting, and grand theft?
@@robryan9296 The only thing that's "cooked" is your grasp on grammar.

JC's is in my hometown and the best LGS I've ever been to!!!
We need one of these in every city tbh
this is really cool. i'm from alabama and had seen this place on google when looking for card shops to check out, had no idea it was like this.
I've dreamed for years of opening a store like this, but with a roleplaying focus, so lots of small conference rooms rather than a big open space.
amazing concept!

God man. I work weekdays from 3pm to 11:30pm, I NEED something like this because there is nowhere to go after work anymore
This is only a state over from me! I'm going to have to go check it out. This is exactly the type of game store that I would love to open
Love the idea for shops like this. Also since I pulled Shroofus sprout shire from foundations jumpstart, do you think there is a budget way to build him effectively

Momocon was fun, and I'm totally down for checking out more stores if you have some suggestions!

Hey man my hometown game store is JC’s and it’s my FAVORITE I’m so glad you got to go and maybe we ran into each other lol big fan
So cool
that's a pretty cool concept for a store. Honestly, I wish more places were like that, and not just limited to game stores.
Hey, that’s my LGS.
Suris did you know there is a found footage horror zone happening outside your background windows? o__o

The store is still owned by the original owners :)
Jeff still owns it.
I'd love if we had something like that here, where I live. Sadly, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Honestly just get into the pauper scene
Pokemon is fantastic, the playable cards are affordable, and the meta is actually pretty healthy. It's a good choice.
There is a lot of money put into that store

I saw that box of Jumpstart…going for the anime cards? ;)
This is a nifty place. I'd love to check it out and visit Atlanta some time.

The non-retail shop is still open on
Hey I know that place
You got VR to play MtG? Noice!
What deck did he play?
Whoa thats the shop I go to, weird seeing it popup here
I game at JCs often. It's great.
What do you mainly play there?
@coreyminter8640 mainly cEDH or Modern. Otherwise, I play Commander or Legacy, when I have the availability.
Holy Crap! That's one of my local shops
that's very cool
Woooo Alabama!
Hey I know that place. There are card shops all around this area.
It would be cool if you and your gf could come to Colorado. There's a few stores in the city I live in that are fairly cool. Not this level of cool, but cool nonetheless.
2:52 WHAT am I looking at...?
Oi
..... well guess i got plan a trip to Alabama 😂
