I think in the past you have had chineese sponsors, where in the video you admit to getting money from the company or you say your not getting money from a particular company so people might think that is still happening. Also it is extremely common for content creators to get money from companies and it is legal. I'm not making accusations I'm just saying people expect this kind of thing.

You should test these inverters with small generators. For a lot of off-gridders, generators are a necessity in the colder climes. I know a lot of these units struggle with small generators charging the batteries via the AIO.

I had it a year before I installed any of it. I don’t have it fully installed but I am having some of the same issues that some other TH-camrs are having. I have it off grid. I only have a 110v window 18k btu on L2 and some fans and lights to balance the load on L1. Over current faults when the compressor in the AC unit kicks in. It just can’t handle the amp spike as it is right now. Their tech support is great so far. Usually answers an email within an hour.

The people are kind and as helpful as they can be, but are very disorganized and not trained very well. None of that was a surprise because of the forums and reviews. I think they will catch up to their growth and do very well. Don’t listen to the rude comments. They are just mad because they will have to lower prices to compete. On another level, the Sol Ark has an incredible reputation and if money was no object, I wouldn’t be settling for mediocre service.

Rest of the system was Victron already thanks to your video on them. This unit looks to be a pretty good value. Might consider it for the next install. No grid for us so it's all up to the solar power. Since last August we have pulled in 11 MW. Have more to use but no more loads. Victron has had zero problems in that time. Hey Will. I really appreciate your time and hard work making these videos and testing equipment. The "keyboard warriors" are just fanboys of Solarc etc. If they work for Solarc then they are just angry because EG4 has shown that high quality units dont have to be as expensive and it's eating into the company profit margin. Or maybe they're angry because they paid so much for their unit and could have gotten one of the EG4s and saved a bunch of money...

Thanks for reading my comment! I would ask as for someone that lives on The Big Island if you would possibly look into products that help those of us with AGM batteries. It is very difficult to get LiFePo's here. If you can get some shipped, it's insanely expensive.
Most people here that are off-grid either use golf cart batteries or AGMs because of initial cost and because it's just expensive to live here.
Recently I have been looking into a product called "Battery Life Saver". It is made by a company based in Florida. What's your thoughts on pulse desulfators for lead acid batteries?

I just purchased this unit over the pair of the 6500s for my off-grid property. In order to do so and stay within my budget I settled for half of the battery capacity(For now). I can always add those later as funds permit. A big part of my decision is the simplified wiring and load balancing because it is all one unit. With the pair of 6500s I would have to ensure I spread the 120v loads evenly across the units while leaving enough headroom for things like a well pump and air conditioners. The extra surge capacity of this unit gives me more confidence. I'm really looking forward to seeing what this thing can do. Thank you for all the information and advice Will! :)

Funny enough, I had a feeling people would call you a schill after your first video about this unit. Which is why I added this unit to my future list, but who knows, I am a few years out from buying a solar system, I am hopeful the quality of products and technology will continually improve, and hopefully the scale of the industry will drive prices lower. Thanks for the video.

I like OPTI Solar. Used them for years and they worked fine. The only problem I had was when a fan went out. I have 3 OPTI Solar inverters and they're great.

Thumbs up 👍 with out the testing and discussion on the system itself. We would not be seeing the fast improvements. Quality is moving forward and failing is not as bad. We are getting better equipment. Thumbs up 👍 for staying in the game 😊

Some people have adopted the notion that having a harsh opinion makes them an expert. It does not. It just makes them someone with a harsh opinion. Ignoring them is the healthy approach. OTOH, your valuable expertise is well worth listening to.

You can't let internet trolls affect you. You should laugh (at least on the inside) at the trolls.
Anger is wasted on these folks. Your reputation is secure regardless of whiners.
They very well could be plants by the "other" companies, where they are the shill.

Yep, Will is right. All we want is honest reviews of solar products. The second we detect that what is being said about a solar product is motivated by a sponsorship or some kind of payment/kickback we have no confidence in the content of the video. Honesty is money and money doesn't come cheap. BOOM!

I love mine so far, installed it last week, really capable, but I’m still fiddling around with the settings because with grid connected, no matter which settings, it keeps going back to the grid multiple times, super annoying…
Basically I want it to only tap into the grid if the battery gets too low only. I have everything setup including the wifi dongle and I'm waiting for their commissioning appointment to hopefully figure that out, right now I'm disconnected the grid. Yet, so far way better than the glitchy growatt 12k I had, and the fact that it takes up to 500V PV per MPPT, is just icing on the cake. Keep up the great content, you are very objective and picky enough for anyone to dare call you biased.

I forgot the name of the setting but I set it to zero when I was in off-grid use only. now I'm using the grid so I set it to 12,000 Watts

I just bought 36 bluesun 460-watt panels and a Eg4 18k inverter with 6 ll-eg4 48-volt batteries from Sig solar. I want to be totally off-grid with a 3,300 sq ft. home and a shop. I'm going with 4 rows of 9 panels in series for 457.2 volts dc in each of the 4 lines. which is a total of 16,560 watts @ 9.05 amps into the inverter. Fingers crossed. If this isn't enough I'll add another 16 panels with 6 more eg4 LL-eg4 batteries and another eg4 18k inverter
