    This video really needs clarification or to be updated. The newer AT44s have an opening in the back so that you can access the adjustment with a 4 mm extended allen key without taking it apart. Also the hammer will rotate when you go to turn the key. The hammer has a hole in it that can be accessed through another opening underneath the rifle. De cock the rifle. You will need to rotate the hammer with the 4mm allen key in order to orient the hole vertically so it can be accessed. Insert a small pin or allen key through the opening into the hole to stop it from rotating. Then you can then rotate the adjuster from the back.

      Is " the other opening " toward the barrel end or the trigger end?

    Great video(s)! In my at44-10s I have to use another allen key (or any tool of right size really) to hold the hammer in place to adjust the spring tension. There is a small hole near the middle stock screw in the hammer housing to do that. Otherwise the hammer would just turn along with the hammer spring screw as you try to adjust it alas no power change. I've modified the stock so that I don't even have to remove it to change my power. Great gun to work with.

    Hey there, how much is it possible to adjust the power? How much up and how much down? What results did you achieve with the different power settings ? Would an regulator be a better choice for adjusting the power? :)

    Hello Rick, I just got me a 2017 AT44 Long .25 cal. Even when pulling the side lever all the way back, I still can't engage the spring tension allen screw. My allen wrenches look like the same size as yours. In addition, people on here talk about holding the hammer in place with an allen wrench or small screwdriver inserted in the hole by the stock screw. I can not engage anything to hold in place. Did Hatsan change the design of their guns slightly?? Thank you for the videos.

    I see this is an older video, however I attempted to adjust power in my AT44S10 long . That 4mm allen screw will not turn either way... I did buy it as a refurb , so maybe that has something to do with it? But It is plenty powerful enough as it is so I am fine with it...I think someone may have locktighted it with the high strength red...

      +Brian Mengoa - I like to see about 850 with the 15.89 grain JSBs.. but that's me. You can get a lot more out of it, you just get fewer shots. Each gun is a little different however. Takes trial and error.

    My AT44 .22 QE is getting 31 fpe using Barracuda Hunter HPs 18.12 gr at 875 fps.
    Does the adjustment have the range to turn the power down by 50%? Maybe 16 fpe at 650 fps??
    I'm hoping to get more shots per fill and less noise.. :) Thanks.

    Rick, thanks for this great video. I am fitting a HUMA Regulator on my Hatsan AT44-10 Tactical and really need to make that crucial hammer spring adjustment. I followed your suggestion and turning the screw clockwise to decrease the power/hammer spring tension and also watched your Hatsan BT65 video as well where you suggest that turning the screw clockwise would increase power. Please help me to clarify which is the correct method for the AT44-10 for definite? Thanks once again and look forward to hear from you soon. Also emailed but yet to receive a response.

    • @AirGunWeb
      @AirGunWeb  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Kamran Hye - to Decrease the power in the AT44.. you turn it CLOCKWISE just like described in the video. To Decrease the power in a BT65, you turn it COUNTERCLOCKWISE. They are opposite each other.

      @@AirGunWeb Rick i just bought the AT 44 10 qes. 25, over my chrony I'm getting 740 fps with 25.39 gr jsb's .thats pitiful. Hatsan is always great at giving pretty close numbers on their guns and this one is rated at 900. I know I know ,,,there is a lot that goes into getting that number, on the new ones do I need to take stock off gun to turn power up?.

    Hey Rick great video. I attempted to remove stock on my at44 .25 so that I could file slot for hammer adjustment. Problem is I was able to remove rear and front screws but middle screw has obviously been threadlocked in place. Ended up totally stripping it out. Took gun to 3 machine shops and a gun shop. No one will help me out. I've now ordered a screw extracter. Hopefully this will remove it. Is obviously designed to be removed..I don't know why it's so difficult. Also where can I get a screw replacement?

    When I insert a small allen wrench through the hole in the hammer to stop my hammer from turning I am unable to turn my 4 mm hammer adjust. Really cranked hard with my hand and it just won't budge. Have installed a reg and would really like to lighten up my hammer but can't. Any ideas? I read somewhere that some of these were glued or loctited in place to prevent tampering. ???

    • @AirGunWeb

      +Bobby Whitter - if you get a chrony and get your numbers.. then take those and the pellet to Hawke's ChairgunPro software. Plug that in and you can get a very good idea of how your gun will perform at all ranges. Energy, velocity, drop, etc. it's all there.

    Hi Rick, sorry for getting off topic, but I thought if I posted on an older more appropriate video of yours, my request would never be seen.
    I am torn between buying the Diana 350 in 22 cal. or the Weirauch 95 (beemanb r9)in 22 cal. I want a gun with very good accuracy for target, yet capable for hunting if needed.
    I know you are very fond of both, but if you had only one chance to buy which would it be?
    Thank you....Pat

    • @AirGunWeb
      @AirGunWeb  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +pat erhardt - Just a note.. I review all posts and respond to most. No need to post on newer ones. You can also simply email me or call me (contact data is on my website). Now to your question. I like both guns very much. The R9 has less power, but will be easier to shoot. The RWS 350 will have more power, up to 25+ fpe and will be heavier and longer, making it a bit awkward to shoot with from the shoulder. If you are only shooting rabbit and squirrel sized game, then I'd go for the R9. If you want raccoon sized game, then the RWS 350. Both are great guns they are really different and difficult to compare.

    Side Note, As a .22 hunting rabbits.

    • @AirGunWeb
      @AirGunWeb  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +pootato head - You can convert the CFR, but you may rather consider simply tuning the CFR. A tuned springer will often shoot more smoothly and have less recoil than a gas ram. The best way to convert the CFR would be to get the least expensive Gamo IGT equipped airgun and swap the parts. You need a spring compressor and the right tools. In the end you'll still have 2 working guns.

    • @drekceldude
      @drekceldude 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      All depends on weight of pellets plus speed,only problem when shooting at higher fps a pellet becomes unstable usually around 950 fps ,so a nice sweet spot for pellets is between 860 and 900,so if you have a heavier pellet that normally shoots at 820 increase power to sweet spot,that where you'll get foot pounds you need.
