- Hello everyone, Hope you are having a great day.
Here is a detailed video on how to remove the 6l50 transmission from a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. Hope this helps you in some way.
ENDED UP REPLACING THE INPUT SHAFT SEAL AND THE TORQUE CONVERTER.
Great job on everything in the video. I like the fact you didn’t really fast forward anything even if you had to get something it was still rolling great job on description and everything else
awesome detailed instructional video... i am not doing any transmission work on my gmc truck but it's fascinating to watch how you did it. thanks!
Bro thanks for this I’m in the military and dam did this help out a lot with our fleet vehicle
Glad to assist sir!
God Bless You, because You are very Skilled and shows that You have the Right and Appropiate Temper and attitude, I am Transmission Rebuilder and Used to be a Transmission Installer back in the Eighties for 15 years!
I have a persistent shudder in my Colorado with my 2.8 L diesel, even after flushing the fluid. I've steadily been growing my confidence in repairing cars over the years and while I probably don't want to crack open the transmission itself, the torque converter was an open question.
Thank you for this video, it has really let me understand if I'm biting off more than I can chew so to speak. Now to mull over if I want to go big or pay someone else.
What typically goes bad isn't the converter it's the line pressure valve in the pump housing. It wears and stick's and makes the pressure drop in the converter lock up. It's going good to replace both parts. The aftermarket valve from trans go is great.
That was nice to see. Thanks for class made my job so much easier and better...

So at the end wich whats the problem with the transmission where was the leak.?
Ended up being the torque converter and a small crack in the case.
WOW... Great video
You never ever disconnect the positive 1st ever ever always the negative
Great video. Very informative!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is exactly where my transmission is leaking. What was the leak? torque converter input seal?
It was the torque converter
Very fckng impressive....👍👍👍👍n very detail guide....
TQ for making the video !!!!!!
AWESOME VIDEO! One question is how did you replace the seal? It looks like it's got some type of snap ring holding it in.
Good gob thank
Did you need to take off both catalytic converters off the manifolds?
I own a 2016 Colorado Truck 2.5 engine, recently started to experience the truck would slip when acceleration on low speed or when I stop at the light then speed slowly I get a buck, shift hard like a jerk over time it got worst my truck has 110,000 miles . I took in for service the mechnic found a problem with the torque converter fluid level low due to leaks need a replace the ring and seal and RE service the fluid for that issue. $1792 to fix it. How much do you charge in your city for this job? He also found the oil pan leaking and the front cover seal leaking that is additional $1680. also valve cover leak and vacuum pump seal extra $519 the serpentine belt replace as well $177.What do you recommend being fix first rest later?
My truck is the 4x4. Is the removal the same? is this a 4x2?
Most likely have to remove the transfer case as well
Whey worry about popping the lines out of the bracket when you have to remove the bell bolt anyway?
Great video, nut slow down and catch your breath while talking....
