    I like the ideas and thank you for sharing them. I will swap the glue for a sewing machine. 😊

      Not sure I’d trust glue for the heavy duty I would subject an apron to!!

      I feel like they often use glue for speed and showing final result. Not for long term use.

    If you want to wash them then you need to sew them otherwise they will come apart when washed I use all my old towels and wash clothes for dish towels and dish cloths or for cleaning rags I dont usually but dish towels you can also stuff them and sew them and make hot pads from them

    All this glueing things on, that's no use if you want to wash the item at high temperature when it gets dirty. If your towels are still usable as towels just dye them, either back to their original colour or a darker colour. Sometimes upcycling is just creating unnecessary items.

    You are using glue to put fabric edging and a pocket on the towel.Have you considered learning how to use a sewing machine or even a needle and thread?

    • @chrissygw4971
      @chrissygw4971 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All fabric glues will hold up well in the wash, but not for long. Each use will weaken the glue, so be careful when washing. Don't use glue on items you want to last a long time.

    If it is all glued. Doesn’t that mean it can’t go in the Wash?

    • @treeoftrees7523
      @treeoftrees7523 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      She's presenting the idea. You can take it and expand on it, alter it as you like. It's definitely better to stitch them rather than gluing.

      Depends on the type of glue that you use. There are some that will withstand washing.

    Wow! People are so nasty with their comments. Just sew the darn things if you don't want to use glue. I know some people who would sell these items at craft fairs but they would sew them.

  • @karinbirkenbihl2053

    Good ideas, but whenever possible prefer sewing to glue! Mostly for the baby-item, as it will have to be washed over and over!

    Towels are always needed at women’s/ men’s shelters. You could also make a travel toiletries kit/ apron/ pillowcase from old towels when they get dirty , just put them in the laundry 🧺 and wash them. Jennydebrier

    The baby bib I thought you were making that into a face cloth which would make sense. But putting glue on a baby bib is a big no-no. Sew it on.

    I cringed the whole way through, honestly...glue? would have been better to hand sew the nice boarder and pocket, clearly you can hand sew. I know it would take longer, but it would last longer if you did hand sew it.

    Nope.. this is not the correct way to make an apron. The fact that she actually can hand sew just blows my mind that she cut and glued and expected this to not fall apart. Is this like The 5 Minutes craft? Cause that is all fake too.
