    For people who are forced to use high sens because of small space .... use high dpi with lower pointer speed (it doesn’t effect ingame) and use low sens to avoid frame-skipping.

    • @halfwaylambda440
      @halfwaylambda440 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    800-1600 is pretty good imo, however some mouses might have smoothing past certain dpi's so it's something to lookout for ( my glorious model o minus does at 1600+ ), so 1400 it felt way better, but I just use 800 now because it feels more precise when locking onto targets.

      Yeah I’ve noticed this too. I’ve played with 2100 dpi forever and I’m stuck with it because my muscle memory has accounted for the mouse smoothing/negative acceleration that comes with high dpi. I’ve tried many times to switch to 400 dpi with the same cm/360 but my aim is always much worse.

  • @GarrettBShaw
    @GarrettBShaw ปีที่แล้ว

    An important thing to note regarding his concern over the vertical movement when trying to move the crosshair horizontally. Your hand will have a natural up and down variation in your swipe, the high DPI just shows all the small minor fluctuations. However on average there's no more movement with the high DPI then there is with the low dpi. If you were to try and do a quick 180 flick most likely the high DPI crosshair movement would look something like a sine wave with smooth variations in height. While the low DPI would look more like a step function where it's going flat, jumps up a frame gos flat for a little bit jumps back down a frame so on and so forth. However the amplitude of both would be equal.

    • @GarrettBShaw
      @GarrettBShaw ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A very unlikely, but technically possible case in which the above statement wouldn't work out would be if your natural hand variation in vertical movement while trying to move horizontally is low enough that per a swipe before you pick up your mouse a low DPI setting would not have been able to register a full vertical change yet. In that case you could in theory have a high DPI mouse that has variation in vertical heights, whereas at the lowest DPI setting you would never notice any vertical fluctuation.
      However that only works if your hand is so steady that your total vertical variation is less than the few pixels that the low DPI mouse jumps. And if that's the case the slight fluctuation from the high DPI would not affect you as you would have very consistent movements

    I prefer high dpi since for me personally I can see the sort of staircase effect when using 400 dpi so I can’t track that well. Also after testing and playing high dpi for around 2 weeks, I tried a different combination of dpi from 400 to 3200, I raised the dpi by 100 each time, I stayed on 2400 because it feels smooth and it doesn’t really change my sensitivity that much, I tried 3200 but it feels too fast.

    Haven't watched the video yet, but
    High DPI = high accuracy, low precision
    Low DPI = low accuracy, high precision
    Just use whatever DPI you feel comfortable with on your desktop or browsing the internet
    play with a sensitivity where one swipe across your mousepad is a 180 in-game
    (a swipe is just moving your hand across the mousepad like you would in game, not from one edge to the other)
    if it feels too low where you have to move your mouse more than you want to, up it a bit
    if it feels too high and you have more trouble than you should hitting your shots, lower it a bit
    eventually you'll come to an eDPI value/range where you're comfortable
    mine is 550DPI * 1.3 sens = 715 eDPI
    and don't forget you can change the windows sensitivity if you'd like, i moved mine down to 4/11
    just remember to have m_rawinput 1 in game
    mouse settings > additional mouse options > pointer options
    also make sure enhance pointer precision is unchecked
    edit: OH ALMOST FORGOT a good dpi range is between 400-800, some pros like ELiGE use 1600 but you really don't need more than that
    edit2: yeah ok he mentions the windows sens thing

    Your cross-hair skips pixels not because of 100 DPI , but instead because of 7.84 in-game sens. The best combo is to play at native DPI of the mouse with whatever in-game sens is required.

  • @dodger3294
    @dodger3294 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    When you raise your DPI on modern mice you're actually engaging a type of artificial mouse smoothing. Sure it looks nice and pretty but you're not getting a 1:1 input like you would with a DPI 3200 or lower.

    okey so about me, im faceit lvl 10 and my peak was about 2900elo (europe)
    im playing since 2013 (played older cs also) and i currently have about 7k hours in csgo
    I always used to play 400 or 800dpi and saw no reason to change it to 1600 or 3200 whatsoever, BUT
    when i finally did this i can tell you guys it feels like another game. Mr Banana said that it wouldnt make a real difference but i can tell you it does, atleast for players that did play the game for 4k hours +. Your tracking aim (for example following a guy which is going adadadad in pistol) is gonna get like 200-300% better. The game also feels a lot smoother in generell, you can compare it when switching from 60hz to 144hz the first time, if u didnt change already you should srsly do it
